@IAMinDreams its PHish. and no, nobody can be compared to john fishman (fish). hes the greatest drummer/percussionist there ever was. also, Phish is all about opening your mind and broadening you horizons. Some of my favorite musicians I learned about through listening to Phish. like Zappa and Ween
The band does good now, but there's no question to me that Trey's playing has gone downhill. He still gets there now and then, but it used to be a given, every night.
only been to 23 shows and heard 5 or 6 yems, but this is by far my favorite! trey absolutely tore it up, blew my mind! and for 3.0 haters, in my humble opinion they're playing better than they have since big cypress, and that's a while now! love it, see y'all next tour!
I can guarantee you there will never be a band at the top of the charts that can produce the vibe, energy, power, and musical chemistry that is on that stage- other than arguably the Chili Peppers before Frusciante left- and that fact is a sure sign of a major decline in the music industry.
If Phish had been around 20 years or so before they were, they would be 10x more well respected and known.
I think this festival was the last true phish show. If you look at what they did on their final tour and what they have done after reuniting, IT is hands down a much better, technically and creatively, Phish. I wish they would have just quit after IT.
I don't think so. Trey's playing right there was on fire and I have not heard him do anything like that in 09. I'm glad he's off that shit and all, but I disagree as to this is inferior to anything I've heard from Phish 3.0
@ajoselowe I am thankful he kicked that stuff buuut you can not deny they have never jammed their harder than in the early and mid 90's. Listen to Joy, the new album, thats all the proof I need.
