yup. i'm not part of it caz i always thought i wasn't good enough. last year, i had this GREAT. IDEA. i could play cymbols for it. but. then i realized we had a drum set with cymbols on it. cruhsing my dream.
well that's good. half our trumpets are, "drunken trumpets". idk if your directer ever used that comparison... but you guys are lucky then. our lead trumpet player, zach william, is a BEAST at trumpet playing. and then we have like 2 or 3 other good people. but if zachary got hit by a mack truck... idk what we'd do.

"play out"? ...oh jeez. i'm just kinda a fake drummer. i play bass drum in marching band, but for concert band i play alto sax. since my parents paid $3000 for it, i'm not allowed to stay in the drumline for concert band. but hey, you know... it's all fun. just. marching band is better.
not to interrupt, but the way our band works is the best two players are on first. then the next two are on second. and the rest are dispersed. so needless to say that our second trumpet lead thinks she's kool shit, but can't play at all. i'm the AP first, so i got second out of everyone.

ummm... there are 3 trombone players - 1 senior, 1 sophomore, and 1 freshman. and there are... like 7 trumpet players - 2 seniors, 1 junior, 4 sophomores... (i think)there's about 54 of us. i think we're actually really good. on our trip last year we won first place for EVERYTHING. (marching band, concert band, dance squad, jazz band, ect.) our marching band is UNDEFEATED, 6 years in a row. so stick that in your pineapple and shake it!
