  • there will NEVER EVER be concerts like this again. many people post these same words I speak. all the same. but we just cant get over the fact that todays music (99% of it) is trash. and the concerts are even worse. as I watch this video I look out into the crowd and see how happy and into the song they are. all standing, waiving arms, clapping with the music. today all we get is fat ass Beyonce lip syncing ever where she goes, swinging her hips around like there is an imaginary D@#K under her !

  • the one and only lou gramm!!!!!

  • luv this song!!!

  • Awesome song

  • 1985 forever!!!

  • Great band!!!but of course everything that´s good ends one day, sorry!!!I stand alone with my pride...

  • Lovely song, that remain in our hearts!!

  • This is my favorite Foreigner song. Wore out many cassette tapes in the 80's listening to this lol

  • "just a slight change in plans" the understatement of the century :)......

  • A really well put together arrangement. I don't know who produced this song,,, but what a work of art. Ear candy forsure. Their 2nd best next to " I wanna know what love is".

  • @finzup12663 Get over it, asshole.

  • I was 17 when this song came out. What the hell happened?! Now I'm 44 and can't understand any of the music now.

  • @Everclearish That's because the 'music' has been kicked to the curb in favor of gimmicks, props, and PR machines. The days of real music (instruments, not manufactured) and singers are long gone. So sad!

  • Today I am 25 years old. I will be listening to these songs for at least another 25 years.

  • nice song i love it

  • these guys knew exactly how to entertain...absolute magic.

  • It's amazing that many of the giant rock bands of the 60's 70's got their start in small back alley bars, or even a garage.

  • hmz tell me your fantasies

  • I like how half way through he sounds like John Farnham!!!

  • Respond to this video... You deal with a brain tumor and get back to us clown

  • Why would anyone dislike this song, this is the jam. The 31 people that dislike this song are foreigners themselves.

  • 100000000000 D 100000000000 ABSOLUTO

  • MY FAVE SONG BY FOREIGNER

  • Esta es mi canción favorita de Foreigner

  • musica maravilhosa,........,ja nao si fazem musicas mais desta qualidade...

  • what they call music today is the garbage THEY want you to hear. Not what YOU want to hear.

  • sorry you missed out cock i certainley dint just showing my age. class

  • ha Hot latin blond girl

  • Pretty cool vid. If I recall, this vid was recorded at the Birmingham Jefferson Civic Center in 1984 or 85. It was a big deal in the Ham.

  • @gonadus 1985 (pretty sure on that). I posted a while back on this. Yes, it was the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center. Giuffria opend for them (horrible...my garage band had better equipment). Foreigner was great though. I still have hearing loss from that concert.

  • His voice is just paralyzing in this song..My ALL time favorite of theirs..

  • One o my favorite songs of ALL time. I liked the original video better though. Not to say this version's not bad ass too!!!!!!

  • It was Yesterday and my Love got away

  • this is foreigners best song! their next best song is "urgent" - of course!

  • i was 18 nd she was 16 ...im still in love now//

  • Foreigner has always been an old favorite of mine. They had a very unique sound. Great job guys!!!!!!

  • Love Foreigner!! Wish I was at this age when they were big and Lou Gramm was still part of it :)

  • that was yesssterday ......but to day life goes on Merciiiiiiiii !!

  • I work at a grocery store in Rochester, NY and just saw Lou Gramm shopping yesterday. How friggin' cool.

  • Comment removed

  • @MegaNjdevils30 did you get to talk to him? If so what was he like? I do hear he is a really generous guy.

  • gosh, I'm seeing them tonight in concert, I'm so excited!!!

  • @iphone32009 No you're not.

  • @tryithere uh yeah i saw them at the save mart center in fresno, ca

  • @iphone32009 The member from this video is the lead guitarist who held all the contracts for the band. He has basically fired everyone along the way. What you saw was basically a tribute band.

  • Easily in Hall of Fame under heading as 1 of the Greatest Bands Ever

  • i hate when says "and now" xDD

  • One of the BEST bands to come out of the 70's and 80's. So underrated, Foreigner (to my knowledge) is still Atlantic Records all time best selling artist.

These guys should be in the HOF. It's a joke that they're never even nominated

  • @GialloHorror They're not in the HOF? That is crazy! They've sold 70 million records. They're one of the biggest selling bands of all times.

  • te quiero lou gramm

  • omiljena pesma

  • freakin love lou gramm amazing voice!!

  • 832 of these views are mine, hahah. I love this man, this band, this song!

  • @martinafan1 and That Was only Yesterday.

  • Its a relly god song of foreigner! i love this song!

  • one of my favorites!

  • MONTREAL-OLD-FORUM 1982 WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • BAD ASS

  • @lovatoandswift13 I agree with you! I hope Mick realizes that he owes a lot of his band's success to the vocal talent of Lou Gramm. A great band needs a great voice which Lou provided!

  • @pearlady22 They needed each other but Jones is an ass.

  • WONDERFULL !!!!!

  • i love this song-made love to it a lot-dont know why

  • This is music......emotions.....chickenskin!!!!

  • Awwwwww reminds me of a teenage crush. :}

  • I hope somewhere deep in your heart yesterday will live on....

  • One of my fave Foreigner Songs...they have SO many GREAT songs!!

  • Legends! Heck, this sounds like an album track with added crowd sounds.... hear that today???? Not hardly.

  • @MichaelCGatesMusic That's because it is.

  • I was at the concert when this was recorded. Early 1985 (I think) at the Birmingham-Jefferson Civic Center (I'm not in any of the shots though). Giuffria opened (and were in way over their head). When Foreigner took the stage, they played very conservatively through the first part of the set. Then it was time for "That Was Yesterday". It wasn't one of my favorites then (or now for the matter), but they did a great job with the song, and after recording the video, they really put on a show!

  • @1957BuickSpecial This is the album track though, correct?

  • @MichaelCGatesMusic I'm pretty sure this was the album track. I was right behind where the giant camera boom would swing back to. Pretty much looking center of stage, just back in the stadium seating (not on the floor). No camera time for me though.

  • sang this song to a very fine lady that moved away because of her job miss her goodby melody

  • There was a time when music was at the height of its glory.

There was a time when artists and bands wrote their own songs and sang from their hearts.

There was a time when lyrics carried deep meanings about life and true love.

There was a time when music was meant for listening to rather than for laughing at.

But that was yesterday... sigh,it pains me to see how bands like Foreigner, Survivor and Journey were so popular in the 80s but are forgotten today. I wish I was born two decades ago.

  • @asdfkie the year I was born

  • @albermarle52 Does that mean you weren't born "Yesterday" or that you were?

  • @asdfkie i was born near that decades, but we didn't realized that this music was THAT good . i always thought it will be like this forever. it's just now that i feel a little bit lost ,bc the music nowadays speaks about sex and money . but there are still good songs, but it stays a superficially decade

  • @asdfkie Well said! From the last sentence you wrote I will assume you are a "young" person. If that is true, you have insight and wisdom beyond your years. I was a young man in the 80s so I grew up with the bands you mentioned and every word you wrote is true. Today's music, and the "artists" who record it, are a far cry from the talented and disciplined artists of years gone by. I also miss those things and I can completely relate to what you feel. Thank you for posting your thoughts.

  • @asdfkie they are not forgotten!! this keeps them alive and well.

  • @asdfkie yes the 80's fucking rocked and I was lucky enough to see all the bands you listed! The music lives on forever - going to see Lou Gramm later this month cant wait...

  • @asdfkie Couldn't agree with you more; You point out key things that are wrong with today's music industry. It's mostly about way too much flash and no substance today. Most kids now are more interested in technology and superficial/short attention span endeavours and have no idea or care what real talent is. Hopefully this tide will turn at some point.

  • @asdfkie Well written my friend, WELL SAID!!!!!

    Frank DeAngeli$

  • @asdfkie they haven't been forgotten... we're still here and we still listen to them... great music never dies :)

  • He's kicking ass on that tambourine.

  • THAT WAS YESTERDAY BUT HOW COME NO ONE PLAY'S THEIR FOLLOW UP TO THIS........THIS IS TODAY?

  • I love this song. I am making it my motto for life.

  • I am sitting here drooling over these guys. they were so good looking back then. I love this song.

  • They are absolutely amazing in concert...... probably the best live show I have ever seen!

  • Great song, don't understand why this song wasn't as popular as "I Want To Know What Love Is" or "Waiting For A Girl Like You"

  • @Doobie1975

totally agree. But I think it's not just Foreigner. A lot of other bands' awesome songs are underrated. Maybe it's the media who decides which song will be popular and the masses just follow it

  • @gamblerpete This song only went #12, I also hardly hear "Say You Will" and "I Don't Want To Live Without You" and they peaked at #6 and #5 respectively in 1988, usually the majority of the band's later hit songs don't seem to get the recognition like their earlier hits

  • que gran cancion .....me hubiera gustado nacer en esta epoca :)

  • if u love AOR music like this chek WORK OF ART THE GREAT FALL

  • to my6 ex

  • @williamlbarberjr Thank you for your service, disagree with the politics fine, but NEVER NEVER dis the servicemen who laid their all on a foreign field or lost their friends and returned home only to be greeted by the assholes in this country who think that they can be disrespectful or cruel to those men that joined.

  • Lou has a wonderful voice! Foreigner is a quite great band. :)

  • My FAVORITE song from FOREIGNER,i agree they should be in ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME.

  • Goodbye yesterday

    Now it's over and done

Still I hope somewhere deep in your heart

    Yesterday will live on...

    Me encantaaaaa!!!!

  • This band isn't in the Hall? If not, close up the Hall becuase it is useless with out these guys, Journey and Reo

  • Tiempos que no Volveran....

  • @FGranite oh sssiiii!!!!!! cuanta verdad

  • Everyday, i thank the odds for being a child of the 80s. I grew up with Foreigner, Queen, Tears for Fears...

  • lou is one of the greatest of all time - songs like that are foreigner genius

  • Remember Yesterday when America was a great place to live. Shame on the government and What they are doing. Not proud to be an American.

  • I think this is my all time favorite ballad. Unless it was another of the other amazing songs that Foreigner sang. You guys are definitely the greatest of my time.

  • In the primes of their careers who was better than Lou Gramm, Freddie Mercury, and Cheap Trick's Robin Zander on vocals? Lou will always hold a special place in my memory bank and he deserves to be called a legend, despite the critics hating bands like Foreigner.

  • Shaytards bump into Foreigner at airport in their latest vlog!

  • AWESOME SONG!!

  • when i first came to this country i didnt know what i was listening but i knew it was a beautufull soong.

  • music, movies, people everything was/were better in the 80s, i dont know but people today changed a lot, films also changed, damn i want back to the 80s!!!!!!

  • Foreigner was and still is a great band, great songs and memories from graduating Grammer and High school too .I had a lot of good and fun times!

  • thenks for this sonng

    E.S !!!

  • anyone have a link for foreigners inside information the song.... i cannot for the love of god find one.

  • What year was this video?

  • Back in the 80's bands just didn't write songs , They made anthems :)

  • @abhishekborah And you sir... are dead on balls on correct.

  • @abhishekborah Today's bands don't even write songs. -.-

  • @abhishekborah Yes they did...This song has that EPIC feel to it.

  • damnit i want more foreinger on the radio AND on TV!!!!

  • That was the time when music was awesome. That was yesterday.

  • still my favorite of foreigner, just a great song !

  • That's because : that was yesterday !!!!

  • Wow foreigner is such a great band, wish i was born 1958 like my dad so i couldve been young to experience the 60s 70s and 80s, music at its best

  • Agree a true rock band these guys are. This song must have been a # 1 hit.Thay played the sht out of it on Rock

  • the best song ever!!

  • Seeing these later today : D

  • so many hits, so little time

  • yeah Lou has the x-factor,where they all looking for in all these musicshows like AI. i don't know why almost only 80' bands have it.

  • @jetsat100 Aaaaah, the big question and i reply that i've knew only after(like today) so fantastic moments with so much good bands and choice we had ! Profit well because one by one they go(like us,sure...):terrific !!!!

  • @tiouchful you're so right, thanks for sharing this precious moments with me..

  • Lou gramm is foreigner. Without him it's a bad copy.

  • I would say to these channel's author to continue adding so great videos. thank you very much.

  • I honestly thought Agent Provocateur was a masterpiece. Lou has had few peers in the history of 'our' music. I've always had a hard time deciding if I'd prefer to listen to Lou Gramm or Steve Perry as the greatest voices in rock HOF... and that's considering EVERYONE. Tough call....

  • It's hard to believe that they are not in the Rock N' Roll Hall of Fame. They dominated the 80s, with there great music. You couldn't turn on the radio at the time without hearing them.

  • Ah, the prime of Music Television when promo videos and live concert footage were the norm. How I miss it....well, not entirely, since you can find that on this site, but seeing these older videos are definitely nostalgic, so, thanks for posting.

  • please dont let met me ever forget this song its always make me so strong

  • przepiekna piosenka!!!!!!!!

  • Must be the 28 of the people who loved Foreigner's first four albums so much that they hated Agent Provocateur.

  • 28 plp dont have yesterday

  • Good bye yesterday... I saw Foreigner in the 80's and had a great time.

  • What an awesome song!!! So trueeeeee.......

  • I friggin LOVE FOREIGNER!!!!!!!!

  • Nobody makes music like this anymore! Great song! The 80's were the best. Glad I was born in the early 70's to remember these masterpieces!

  • ES LO MÁXIMO

    FAN MEXICANO DE FOREIGNER

  • Lou was the shit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • no me gusta....me encantaaaa!!!!

  • personally i believe producers are vital in a track and are as important as the artist themselves. wiki Alex Sadkin and preview his other works !

  • want yesterday back, the 80's are the best!!!

  • @simon1969ification Yes indeed.

  • Outstanding................

  • I have a ten year old and this is all i play for him. I was a teen all through the 80s and know we will never have a ear of music like that again

  • @mzondi1970 I was a teenager in the 80's as well and my 20 year old daughter loves this type of music, is up to us to keep it alive in our kids. Good luck with your boy....

  • @tudisco1718 As me. We've been searching this feeleing since then.....

  • Lou is incredible...Sad that true music has been replaced by freak shows, deviants and gangsters. The minds of our youth are definetly being raped by the money making music industry marketing executives and producers.

  • @1tothemorning FANTASTIC COMMENT!!! I couldnt of said it ANY BETTER...God Bless You...I might have to steal your comment if you dont mind...lol

  • @1tothemorning - AMEN BROTHER!

  • Reminds us that our accomplishments are in the past and we need to keep working on our relationships!
