  • yessss you have ALL the tutorials i have been searching for! i love you! *hoop hug*

  • You are awesome and super easy to follow!!!! I can't wait to go home and try this!!!! Thanks!!!!

  • Arrrgh, I just can't seem to get this one.

  • @Voshana Can you tell me what's going wrong? Maybe I can help. I really recommend doing the Over, Under, Out exercise until you can successfully do it with one hand on the opposite side 25 times in a row, ESPECIALLY with your non-dominate hand. That's the one that will need training the most.

  • @Caroleeena I went back and studied this video again and I watched Safire's tutorial where she slows it down. I think maybe I am getting it but it just feels awkward. I am doing the method where you slip your hand inside rather than carrying on the thumb for both beats. I am learning on my left hand first so when I go from doing the 2 beats on the right side of my body back to the left side for the 1 beat is when it doesn't feel right. I might video it and post it on hoopcity for some help.

  • thank you so much! this is my first attempt of off the body double hoop moves, i really makes me regret that i never balanced out the left side of my body with control and strength :( oh well cant do this move anyway till i can get outside, so a few more months..gonna practice balance of the left hand! <3

  • Caroleeena! You Rock! This tutorial helped me soooooooo much! FINALLY Tonight! for like...10 seconds? i got the 3 beat weave! Thank you thank you thank!

  • @kohughes21 That is fantastic! It's all downhill from here!

  • I can do this one handed but as soon as I try to incorporate 2 I lose all the rhythm and can't even really get it started. Do you have any suggestions for when you incorporate the second so that I don't get all flustered and drop it? I use allll of your hoop tutorials :)

  • @dogensays0 Listen to three-beat music! This really helps you keep the beat. Stuff like Kiss Of The Rose by Seal, Rainbow Connection by Kermit the Frog, Moon River, Open Arms by Journey, My Favorite Things from The Sound of Music, Scarborough Fair - Simon and Garfunkel, Come Away With Me - Norah Jones, What The World Needs Now - Carpenters, Take It To The Limit - Eagles, Natural Woman - Aretha Franklin, I Feel Pretty from West Side Story & Everybody Hurts by R.E.M. Count 1-2-3, 1-2-3... also

  • Thank you for your time doing this tutorial!! I still have much work to do, but this sure helps! Much Love

  • haha! you're right..it doesn't look impressive from the front

  • How do you get comfortable with split time?? I feel like I lose it when I start the weave.

  • @y3llow5ub Put on some three beat music, like Come Away With Me by Nora Jones or Scarborough Fair by Simon and Garfunkel or any waltz music. That will help you hear and feel the three beats which can help you fall into them naturally. And remember that it always starts with one, the one below, the one that you're getting out of the way so the other can come over the top. You'll get it. Just keep at it and think of it as one hoop chasing the other -- over a hill and then under...

  • @Caroleeena well now i can get the move but i keep hitting my legs. i feel like my arms are too short =(

  • @y3llow5ub If you're hitting your legs, it means your planes are not straight. Usually this means you're leaning to one (or both) sides. It's important to stand tall, lift from the heart, lift your chin and look forward. Do not allow the body to lean right or left. This should help a lot. If you can stand tall, you can use HUGE hoops and still do this move. OR, if you feel the need to turn to a side to accomodate your hoop, stay tall and turn 1/4 w/ chest and head up, body straight. Don't lean.

  • Great tutorial! Could you tell me what size hoops you are using? If you were to do a cross cut on the tubing, what is the size from the outside to the outside, and what is the circumferance of the entire hoop? Thanks! I think my hoop is too big around and too thick.

  • @pharmycat The diameter of the tubing itself is 1/2" and the weight is 100 psi (125 is fine too). I'm not sure what the diameter of the hoop itself is here. I'd guess 38" but you can do it with larger hoops (44 inches or higher) if they are light enough. To me, that's more important than the roundness. However, the smaller they are, the less far you have to spread your arms when they separate. Because I always want to be able to hoop on my core, I don't go smaller than I could waist hoop with.

  • Thanks Caroleena! Your videos always help when I get stuck :-)

  • thank you so much for this tutorial! you explained it very clearly, best 3 beat weave tutorial i've found! I am still struggling with it tho! my left hand is just not as fully functioning as my right and it keeps gettin in the way!! I will get there eventually tho.

  • @KCnthehoop Just keep practicing the over/under/out with your left hand. You just need to build up strength with that hand. I'd also start the weave on that side so that hand gets to be in control instead of playing catch up when it is already weaker. Let it set the pace.

  • you rock girl!

  • heehee! what a treat, i felt like this tutorial was for me! i'm a lezlie too :)

  • ughhh...I have been dreaming to do weaves and poi hooping for soo long now just havent got ma butt in gear to do it...and no teacher to teach me! This is the first time i have seen it broken down! thank you soo much Caroleeena....your tutorials WORK and im getting this one!!
