@allabsabe this doesn't seem like the kind of thing you could tutorial. its a matter of skill with the software which some people have and some people haven't. Ferrety has it i haven't. and that is the only reason the art industry still exists.
so yeah also just consider how much time this took and how hard it would be to teach!
Its all about practise! You're right when you say its not something you can really tutorial, atleast not easily. I'm recommend you (allabsabe), check out a load of artists, just look at their work, figure out what makes them look good. Check out some colour theory etc. Its alll practise! Though i'll disagree with the time, this was really only a relatively quick painting. I only started it last night!
