  • wait nvm at the beguining of the vodeo from the side it looks lke a boeing b29 superfortress.... opps. my bad

  • thats not the flying fortress...... thats the boeing b- 29 superfortress

  • oh my god this gives me a chubby!!!! I WANT A RIDE!!!!

  • Man this plane has got some weapons!

  • that plane was tough as hell in WWII, the Luftwaffe even used an strategy similar to the japanese Kamikaze, which the pilots crased on the B-17 on purpouse, even they nearly always survived both the crash and explosion... she earned this deserved rest

  • i got to go through one of these in arizona it was awesome also the wheels are turning just not the center of the wheel thats the way they were i could have went for a ride for $475 to ride in the back or 600 to ride in the bobadier spot

  • i got to go through one of these in arizona it was awesome also the wheels are turning just not the center of the wheel thats the way they were

  • cool, i saw the same plane in Hayward cali.

  • did the pilot know the parking brake was still on?

  • haha i know the airport and i live around just by the airport, but i dont think i need to tell all the possible creepers where you went here... great video!

  • Excellent vantage point for startup! I was able to get almost the exact same video of Aluminum Overcast starting up a couple years ago.

  • I want one. haha Beautiful bird.

  • Interesting. It's a later model with the squared tail. Wonder where it was modified and when.

  • my great gandfater was a bombandeir( sorry for speeling) in the b-52 and he had to land one once because his other crew were hit and coudnt fly.

  • My grand father used to fly this and the B 24 back in WWII, love this aircraft is Awesome. Got to take a few tours in one or two.

  • my grand grat grand father was a bombandeir( sorry for spelling) on the b24s

  • Oh, ok. Thanks. Great video!!!

  • Why do the propellers keep switching back and fourth from one direction to another?

  • they dont, it's just the camera makes it look that way, because it slows it dowm a large amount...

  • it just looks that way.

  • because a normal camera can only pick up 30 frames a second, and by the time the next few frames come around the prop is so far in it's spin that it's actually behind where it was, this changes according to how fast the prop is spinning.

  • mAAn! that meen machine produces alot of exhaust..

    <3 b-17 exhaust <3

  • Lol, that wasn't the exhaust... that was the dust. J/k great vid!

  • I don't know which is cooler: The aircraft, or the fact that your camera records at a speed that makes the props appear to turn slowly in the wrong direction.

    Great video, though!! Thanks!

  • the aluminum overcast b17 flew over my house last week

  • why aren't the wheels moving???

  • o.o it really looks like they're not moving!!! wtf?!?!

  • LOL you have the FlipMino HD that's good. I always rate all your videos 5!!!

  • are there any german bombers left, which are still able to fly?

  • nope we shot 'em all down (just kidding)

  • OMG What day did you go? Was is that saturday? cause I went on Friday.

  • Why did the propeller reverse direction?

  • It didn't it's a camera illusion. The camera is recording nearly the same speed as the turning of the propeller so it appears to turn slow, or even change direction.

  • OOOOOHOHOHOoo!

  • hmm...

    quite boring video.

5 minutes to build up to a plane turning a corner?

  • I love this! keep more stuff like this coming!

  • In the beginning, it looks like the props are moving in different directions or very slowly, is that because of your camera or the plane?

  • There going really fast. It just looks like there going slow but there going very fast.

  • What State Was This At??

  • minnesota

  • They have tons of WWII aircraft at World War 2 weekend at reading Airport in PA. Everything from bombers to spitfires and more! It's pretty Sweet

  • this was in ohio. good goin tellin us where you live or live near. lol.

  • This video was not recorded at an airport in Ohio.

  • When I was a kid I had a book about planes and since I´m 5 that´s my favorite plane.

  • boeing ftw :)

  • cool world war 2 plane

  • Thats one awesome plane

  • Shutter speed is too fast...

  • interesting aircraft

  • I sure do feel lucky because my grandpa flies left seat in her. I was even lucky enough to have 5 hours of her logged in my logbook. An unbelievably beautiful aircraft. It's chilling when you realize that people my age (19) and a bit older took her into combat.

N3193G. I'll never forget that call sign. The most complete B-17 around. The superchargers still work and are used fairly often.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask.

  • Great plane! Few of them now a days though...

  • For a Flip Camera, it's very good sound and video quality. This is really cool!!

    Robert

  • I love the effect that the camera gives with the props turning.

  • yeah it looks like they are going to stop and yhat they are spinning really slow

  • I have seen one of those in a museum

  • Great Airplane

  • nice aircraft, i spent $500 for a half hour ride, that was the greatest day of my life!

  • greatest half an hour of you life lol

  • I saw a Lancaster Bomber unclose, then start up and taxi/take off at the air museum in Hamilton, ON, Canada

  • Awesome klip. I wish i could be this close to a B=17 at some point of my life.

  • the wheels not moving at 4:40

  • Those props are spinning slow... how does it have enough power to take off like that?

  • i think that it may have to do with the camera frame rate or some such

  • Its the camera making it look slow, they are spinning a ton faster

  • Ok, I thought so

  • yer i got that when i went plane spotting

  • When a 3-blades prop (as it is the case here) appears to stand still, then its RPM is exactly 3 times the camera FPS.

  • lol i wonder what the fps is on human eyes?

  • somewhere between 30-60 fps.

  • 11 images per second

  • any body going to oshkosh

  • one word....sexiness....

  • is that the landing gear doors or the bomb bay doors

  • Bay doors.

  • i noticed later. did they let you go inside. the inside of one of these is sweet.

  • did you film this video cessna154?

  • Yes.

  • @Cessna154 Man you got lucky!

  • i went to the interepid and the had migs the sr71 black bird with a concorde so i went to a simulator they train pilots in to

  • yeah it is not actually a blackbird but a smaller variant, I went there this spring and the simulator was soooooo much fun I shot down three planes :D

  • what an aircraft

  • OMG!!! CESSNA!!! I WAS THERE!!! I WISH I COULDVE SEEN YOU!!! OMG!!! IM SAD NOW :( i was defienetly there. Darnit. shouldve said hi :P

  • those graphics are amazing!!!!!

  • do you think you could actually fly something this big, or even a cessna 152?

  • holy shit are you lucky

  • Great footage Cessna 154! I think the silver B-17's are rare right? Most were green camaflodged? I think the siver ones were used for ultra-high alitude bombing runs!

  • lol camera FPS and RPM

  • That is a strange camera effect.

  • Liberty Belle is comming to Norfolk,Va In August I'm so excited.

  • Hey cessna that same plane came to Hillsboro Oregon last month along with a p-51 and other bomber. Did you get to walk inside the aircraft also?

  • ..wish the next flight simulator had that great graphics..

  • Imagine how much power your computer will need. =P

  • I just love the smell of Jet A fuel! I bet you enjoyed it too!

  • This plane uses 100LL av gas. I should use 100/130 but that stuff is almost gone. With 130/145 the aircraft has 2/3 more manifold pressure to play with. To make it real, a P51d gains almost 100 mph on 130/145 (the original purple fuel)

  • was it at flying cloud i was there :) they were expanding runway to 5000feet

  • was this filmed at the air expo at eden prairie mn? it looks really familiar

  • Hennipen County, Minnesota...

  • yep i live rite under the approach and where did you travel from the air expo there gets worse every year........ they had more t-6s this year though

  • Wow Cessna! Have you upgraded your graphics card?! That looks real! ;D

  • beautiful aircraft.

  • I love this plane! Thanks for the video!

  • were the props accually that slow or wasit the camera

  • idling

  • It was the camera frame rate. In person, those props were definitely rotating faster...

  • you can tell it was just the camera once the plane starts to move

  • Where's the F22 video you promised us :(

  • I decided to re-shoot it.

  • Darn. I was there. ITS a great Air Expo. i go every year. That Jet that that they had there was awesome wasnt it? I also like the P-47's and T-6's that they had there. A great Air expo indeed.

  • Absolutely amazing footage! How were you able to gain access in to the airport to record it? :D

  • It was probably a show that allowed people to come and see it for free if they wanted.

  • Cost was 10 dollars...

  • We are able to get really close to the aircraft. In fact, I have one other video from this AirExpo where spectators line up right next to the taxi way. Awesome experience.

  • sick man it will be an amazing vid if it was inside the b 17

  • I could have gone inside the B-17 and gone for a 30-40 minute ride.... Of course, they charge $425 for that short flight... So, I decided to save my money...

  • we have one at the local airport. Its called Alluminum Overcast. These things are monsters and can hold up to 11 guns on it. Out here it costs over 400 for a ride.

  • 4:32 Did he leave the brakes on, the wheels don't seam to be moving.

  • Brakes had to be off for the aircraft to move...

The dark shadows under the aircraft make it hard to see the actual rotation of the wheels.

  • i have a model of this i got at the kalamazoo air zoo

  • an air zoo?

  • Nice footage! I never heard of this plane before but it looks pretty cool, wish I could go to an air show...

    Thanks for sharing!

  • does it fly?

  • Yeah it flew around after it taxiied out away from Cessna154's vantage point. The taxiway runs left and right from his position, so he took off down the runway to the left.

  • tight

  • It's too bag they had that other parallel runway closed for expansion/work. It was hard to find a good angle to view the takeoffs from on Saturday.

  • I was in this aircraft! It was at a similar expo a few years ago in Chicago. Pretty awesome!

  • Yeah I found that too, they were doing some construction out there on the field and it was blocking the view a bit. Had fun though!

  • Woot that's one powerful computer! :D (Yes i know this is a real life aircraft i was just joking)

  • 10 pts for standing in the plane of rotation

  • Wow, what graphics card do you use!?!?!

  • Nice one, that was actually pretty funny... If only FS was THIS realistic...

  • Would make it so that much more fun!

  • Please tell me that you weren´t seroius with this question... please...

  • Did you really think that was a serious question?

  • Now i know, but there are a lot of strange questions I've read. (made me laugh)

9800Gtx+ is an amazing graphics card tough... =P

  • I definitely hear you on that one! ;)

  • Hello, You feature a lot of freeware aircraft that I would like to get, including one of your more recent videos the boeing 777-200. That looked really nice especially assuming FSX dose not have there own default one. But i do not understand how to get it on FSX. So if you could reply to me about how to get aircraft into FSX, or make a video rather, that would be awesome. I've tried unzipping them to /Microsoft Games/Flight Simulator X/SimObjects/Aircraft and it still doesn't show up

  • I've made a video on that topic awhile ago, but it does need some updating so I will see if I can get to that later this weekend.

  • Thanks a lot bro, i'll look for that one and see if it works, if not can't wait to see your next video!

  • Search a tutorial on Google.

  • My girlfriend took some quick video on her Sony CyberShot so it will be fun to compare the video to yours Cessna154 :) You should have mentioned you were going to Flying Cloud on last Saturday, we could have met up! I'm assuming this was the first B17 start on Saturday? Not the second one?

  • Yeah, I was there on Saturday (weather was not as great...) Are you aware of any more airshows / airexpos up in this part of the Midwest? I'm not familiar with any others (other than Oshkosh Air Venture)...

  • No, the 18th was my B-day, so it was extra special to have the AirExpo in Flying Cloud on that day. I was going to go to Oshkosh, but it's 36 dollars per non-EAA member per day... way too expensive for me right now. I went in '07 though. Other than AirExpo and EAA, I don't know of any bud. I thought this one was neat though - Never been to AirExpo. 10 bucks is pretty cheap and the start up was sweet. The weather was bad... almost a record low I'm sure! lol.

  • Some great footage you got there Steve, What airfield were you at?

  • Flying Cloud Airport near Minneapolis, Minnesota.

  • No joke!? I love that airport! I used to fly in and outta' there all the time!

  • nice plane! Did you ever find out an answer to the 777

  • No, but I will revisit it later tonight. I'm curious to figure it out - it's on my mind. Someone mentioned there is an "easy" fix for it but I can't seem to find what that "fix" was...

(I hope I'm not getting your question confused with the others who has their own issues... it seemed the issues were pretty similar...)

  • ah I see. Thanks alot for the response. Email me if you get an answer.

  • Wait, what?? Cessna154... I was there and saw the same start up! I was at the B17s 2 o'clock, you were at his 3 o'clock?? How did I not see you??

  • Who knows... There was easily a few hundred people all crammed into that little area next to the static aircraft and the Executive Aviation Hanger... I also have some still pictures from that day I might post. Do you go spotting at this airport much?

  • I have a video of Flying Cloud that I took a couple weeks ago. Nothing too eventful. I just recently got into spotting and mostly go near KMSP. When the winds are right though, I can get some decent shots from my house if you check those vids out - They are on my channel. I'd like to see the stills if you don't mind posting those later on. I didn't visit any of the hangers, we mainly just sat closest to the active runway where the planes from the grass parking taxiied out and in.

  • Nice plane.

  • Nice

  • loved the video

  • awesome video! i got to see sentimental journey a few years ago

  • Nice plane

  • Haha did you film this with your laptop holding it in the air :p great video 5/5

  • No, a Flip Mino HD.

  • Oo nice sounds fancy, i love your videos, make one of a 747 50 knot crosswind video or shoot some ILS's! that would be awesome!

  • i use that camera but i have the ultra and i love it sooo much and what system do u use for editing the videos and how do u import to i movie if u know it would be nice

  • How do you know?

  • bitchin video
