now i saw them live so many times in LA where they were good friends with my best friends - and they ROCKED - best kept secret but this is nOT the best song- anyone got any others???????
I've never smoked pot, but I love this song. I heard it on the radio in the late '90s when I was in college. I kind of wish I'd tried it at some point. I can't now or else I risk losing my job and license. Fuckin' blows!
I was playing these guys on the radio in New Orlenas, on my specialty show "Beyond the Charts". Kim Stevens, from Atlantic Records lives in my area and heard them on the show. He signed them several months later and they put out a great record on Atlantic, featuring, of course, this song. Should have been a hit!. Met them in Austin at SXSW. Great bunch of guys and killer band.

@newlywedmoodys I remember when they use to play it on flashback lunch all the time. I just heard again recently and almost ran my car off the road because I was so exited.
"Blessed are those who have seen them perform live"this alternative ending of the song is nice but you should try to get your hands on this studio version it is better in my humble opinion. But no matter what version you enjoy these guys rock!
as a fan of the band, i completely disagree with the consensus that this is a bad video; on the contrary, i think it's simply priceless. of course, the album version is better, but here we get new verses, improvs, and a piece of history for fans. thanks for sharing it with us!
I agree 100%! This tidbit of earthy cultural transparency shot in such vivid, amateur realism MUST ultimately become a rivaling force of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. This is destined to become a cult anthem for a nation of stoners who have ever gone to the supermarket BLAZED. I have been clean & sober now for a few 24 hours @ a time & I howl with involuntary stomach cramps from laughing so hard every time I listen and remember those times. Now I laugh ANYTIME I see a can of dolphin-safe tuna!
i was thrilled to play in a band that opened for these guys at club fred, in fresno, california, back in about 1996. not only did they fuckin rock, but they were really nice guys, and gave every member of my band free CDs. and, as an earlier poster mentioned, the whole CD is great.
Hrm, yeah, they mixed up Robert Frost and Henry David Thoreau, but yeah, this was the first song I heard from this band as well, and I bought the album based on that one song. I usually was disappointed when I did that kind of thing, but the whole album is great, and it's still a permanent fixture on my iPod about 10 years later.
Thanks for uploading! I will watch the whole show. :)
Great Band man. One time they came all the way to virginia and I was there and it was the greatest show ever I miss them. Well thanks for posting this and the other videos it reminds me of the good times. Later man
Ya, they always say something different during the break in the middle of the song, as well as adding new parts to the song. When i saw them and johns 10(approx) yr old son was watching, during the break he said,"son, do as i say, not as i do". I knew then that they were near the end.....
I miss these guys! I DJ'd at the old KMBY in the late 90's in Santa Cruz & Monterey & we played these guys ALL the time on the air or LIVE in studio. These are some of the nicest and genuine guys around. They often change the words to this song!!!
I love The Uninvited. I wish there were more videos of them. I have seen them twice, once in Las Vegas, and their farewell show in Walnut Creek (I think) in 2002. I have to say it's one of the best shows I have ever seen.
WHOOOOO, I'm too high for this!

This represents some good times and unfortunately not an option for me any more.
Course I did trade to a great bunch of children, a wonderful wife and a kick ass job.
Talent is needed to reflect this well..... great job, over several albums

Could you upload "Ordinary Man." Its a staple tune from their original lineup. They were great, used to see them at the 17 Below in Santa Monica.

Fun video and song. Kind of embarrasing to botch a very famous quote though. Robert Frost wrote the poem about "two roads", not Thoreau.
