@xohearts16 When you fire a rocket, it will move towards the thing that you are targeting with the laser. If you want it to go after another target or area, you just have to aim the laser at somewhere else.

I can't get up the ladder at then end. Can somebody help me? I can get to the platform, but when I press X (I'm on an Xbox) it doesn't let me climb the ladder. I tried doing it without killing the helicopter and it still didn't work. I tried quitting and loading my save, I tried leaving to the Xbox dashboard and loading my save again. Nothing has worked. The only thing left to do is to turn off my Xbox and restart it. Help Please!

@360Nightbringer Ι did it!!! finally after 4 hours of playing i did it!! you should stand (down-low) by the door of the house and aim when the chopper comes from your right. thats how i did it...

HL2 background scenario on my iMac (ATI Radeon 2600 HD) is really crap, and the water too, these two elements are much better on Xbox version. Anyway, I'm playing with a 256MB graphic card and HL2 is a Cider Port (not the original Steam version for Mac), but it works well.

wtf i cant get toungh when the train comes! before when i played the train comed like 2 years after u get off the bridge(like in the video)but now its impossible i get squashed on the side buy the train when trying to leave the lane! i tried 2 millon times with turbo any everything. the only way i can proceed now is to wait for the train to pass before driving. @burnout563 try using the turbo after a second or 2 after heading that way. get to your higher speed faster, i had a problem once because i didn't think a train was coming. did it the second time, i was able to get out and watch the train pass right by the area you exit the tracts

@jrenegade100 you might have to restart "highway 17" cuz i noticed that the game will tell you function of buttons when you start something new. for my i have it on the PS3 and my boot button is the same as the zoom. since you cant zoom while driving, boost is the button overwritten.

I'm not very skilled with fps games in general, but how difficult is it to learn how to fire the rpg at the hunter helicopter? You don't fire it directly at it, because it will shoot it down with its guns.

You fire it off to the side, twirl it around the hunter until it gets close, then have it swoop in from a weird angle. It took me two tries to master, and I've killed every one of those things that I've encountered since in about 20 seconds.

Use your gravity gun to unplug the cord you see behind the shield. If that doesn't work then pick something up from behind the shield with your gravity gun then throw the thing you picked up at it.

@RyanHehl dont worry, i didnt get it at first. while the rocket is airborne you need to point the laser ad the back of the gunship. and the rocket will follow the laser. i used to think that you just fired them and thats it

You're going the wrong way. After the gunship starts chasing you, it smashes rubble into the lower entryway on the side you're coming from. Around 5:29, that's the ladder where you originally came from and are returning to. It has no door at the bottom. Although, it is a problem if your ladder is glitched at 5:29 and you have no way of climbing it... (Xbox 360)

I have that problem! I make it to the other side of the bridge but when i try to climb the ladder up to get back to my buggy (having turned off the shield and beaten the gunship) nothing happens!

I restarted the entire chapter from a save from two chapters ago and it worked fine upon the revisit. Cheats made the time go by faster (and much more fun).

to:danieboy777 shot down choper (gunship)is not very hard, just keep red rocketgun sight on to gunship at least until rocket smashed to it. I.e if u turn sight to ground , rocket comes to down and etc.

Yeah, you can. I got sick of firing rockets at that thing, I must have fired 10 or more, it kept just shooting them down so I made a run for it back across the bridge. When you get back off the bridge the gunship has mysteriously disappeared.

Another tip: Make sure to take cover behind stuff when fighting them combine.

Tip: It can feel good to shoot someone in the head with the crossbow :)

Another tip: Try to conserve your crossbow ammo as it is scarce in the game. It is best used on those ant lion guards (the big parrot beaked things).

Yet another tip: When firing rockets at gunships, try making more erratic movements with the launcher as this will make it far more difficult to shoot down.

Good tip, but this area is one of the few exceptions because there is an unlimited supply of rockets in the metal crates.
