However, if he is a Palestinian who holds Israeli (second class) citizenship, it implies that his family pays taxes (which also means likely that their municipal services are lousy....infrequent garbage pick up, rare water/sewage line repairs, lighting, etc....but IF he holds citizenship in that 'demockracy' and education is offered to those who are, then going to university there is a moot issue.

I see on YouTube a widespread concern for the suffering of the Palestinians. As commendable as this activist's sentiment is, it can quickly lead to a naive, exaggerated and oversimplified view of not only this particular conflict, but also geopolitical reality in general. I'm a big supporter of BDS and of PACBI but not of Omar Barghouti. He is studying for his PhD at guess where... Tel Aviv University! While supporters of the boycott like Ilan Pappe and Neve Gordon face death threats and either leave or consider leaving for doing so. The rest of us face charges of antisemitism daily for supporting the boycott - while he, the 'face of PACBI',who could afford to go to any of thousands of other universities worldwide undermines us all. - Israel has two legal languages: Hebrew and Arabic

Let's not forget the sequence of events, the "terrorist" attacks came after decades of brutal occupation and humiliation of natives by foreign occupants. The first intifada as well as the second intifada started as peaceful, non-violent protests but Israel used helicopters to bomb peaceful protesters and then came the violent attacks from occupied people.

I am sure being through the experience of 'non-violent' bombing of buses and stabbings in the streets, you would have understood the reaction. Even the "Israel proper" is built on remains of Arab towns from which the natives were forced out by Zionist terrorists. The millions of Arab refugees still await justice, under International law they have the right to return to their original lands, they still have the keys to their homes but they are not allowed into their homes that are in "Israel Proper".

Going back 60 years won't help anybody. Israel's Jewish population in 1948 numbered 600,000. It numbers more than 5 million today. These people will not vanish into thin air. The world has seen bigger refugee problems than Palestine, but this is the only place on earth where the problem still exists and the reason is the belief of Arab countries that by keeping it alive they will reverse their defeat in 1948, which by the way, was started by the Arabs. The solution lies in a two-state solution.

Peace will be when the Palestinians accept Israel's offers for a just peace. To date, three Israeli Prime Ministers - Rabin, Barak and Olmert have offered peace based on 100% of Gaza and 97% of the West Bank. To this date, no Palestinian leader has accepted the offer. So, both peoples are doomed to continuing killing and suffering. Perhaps in 10 years and after thousands more dead and immense suffering, they will come to their senses and think about their own people.

Every year UN votes on a resolution for a peaceful solution for the Palestine problem, the only states that oppose the resolution are Israel, US and occasionally Australia and some 4-5 Pacific Island states.

The solution is simple; apply the international law, give the refugees the right to return or compensate them, Israel is not willing to do that, Israel is stealing more and more land every day.

A peaceful resolution is one that takes into consideration the fact that there are now 5 million Israelis on this land and history cannot be reversed. Does anybody conceives a possibility of German refugees to return to Poland? Sudeten to the Czech Republic? Moslems to India? Hindu to Pakistan? Greeks to Turkey? Turks to Greece? Sunnis to Baghdad? All of these are human tragedies, as the Palestinians' is a human tragedy. We can try to turn back to clock, or move on and let them live their lives
