Great tips When do I start a tomato garden indoors, I live in florida where the average is 65 to 75 in the winter and I also have 2 huge windows that get plenty of sunlight
I tried 3 in one pot down my mums with gardeners delight, their working so far. :) Just repotted em. Tho not as large a pot ur using about double of the one ur holding.
I have several questions regarding your method. Does it still work if you plant it in a pot instead of in the garden? So do i still keep 3 of the seedlings? How big of a pot should it be? I'm blessed that I live in Hawaii, that we have growing weather all year round. Your videos have inspired me to start growing tomatoes again. Do enlighten me with your experience and knowledge! Thanks! :)

@aziemkamal Yes it works as long as you plant in a very large pot. The bigger the pot, the better the plant will be. Be sure to use the richest soil or compost available to you. Tomato plants really plow through nutrients in soil.
Do your small plants get a whole lot of sunlight because the pot is blocking the sunlight from getting to the plant? Also, I have a plant that I used your method on and it's already producing a tomato the size of a golfball! Next year I'll use your m method on all of my plants. But I am a little scared to cut off the top of my tomato plants, but the starlings seemed to have already snipped them. They are growing a loyt of suckers on the bottom. :))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))
Ray ... This video gave me a big idea when I bought a new Orange Jubilee tomato plant this past week. I plant real deep, so I had to pick off a bunch of lower branches that also had suckers - some that were good sized. I stuck 3 of the best suckers in a peat pot, planting them down low like you've done here and in your previous video. They've been in the pot 4 days now and are thriving! Gotta give you the credit since I learned the method from you - Thanks! Look forward to your next video!
When these things finally go into the garden do the 3 go together or do you try to separate them and plant them apart? I figure you'll make a video later but I'm impatient...
Kath, I'll plant them together to demonstrate that 3 tomato plants can grow out the same area as one and form one wide sturdy plant. Separating them is possible, but if someone wants to separate plants, it's best to start out with them separate in the beginning. When it's time to transplant, you don't want to be separating any more than you have to. It sort of puts the plant under stress and robs you of a little bit of growing time. Up where I live, we need ALL the growing time we can get. :)
we finaly have some thing going in our yard. I have 4 8X4 box planters built and all the crap in the back yard is at the dump. all I need now is so top soil, mirical grow and peat then the garden is ready to grow. cant wait untill after may long weekend. :) (video's to come) you tomatoes look awesome.
Is that Cheating!! LMAO. I was watching your other vid. Man I did not think you could cheat. All seeds have been altered geneticly for thousands of years. So That hybred tomatoe I raised from seed three years ago is still a hybred. If I got it from bonnie farms same thing still a hybred. So to me IMO it just dont matter six of one half dozen of the other
Man them things are doing great.. Love your vids happy growing!
Well I think it's sorta cheating when they sell it to us and it has a hard time adjusting because it's not all cracked up on drugs the way it was in the greenhouse.:)
Very true I have seen them curl up and die right out of the box.Trick is to get the healthly very young one and well heck you know the deal!! Frankentomatoes LMFAO thanks bro
Well, I think you were just, in calling him out on his remarks. That site was just too hypersensitive. You only called it, as you saw it. Never mind, we love your vid's. You always give us a good laugh and pack lots of good info into them.
hey cuty. i will take some pics of my garden as i work on it .i helped a friend of mine start and organic garden too. so i will keep you posted on that too!! i want to see the progress on your too!! be good mister!
these look good for a few weeks old mine are so small yet from seds and been plantd over 4 weeks now and they just now got 4 little leaves i wonder if it is just the kind i got
Alabama531, I water them about every other day. It all depends on how much sun they get and how fast the soil starts to dry out. I keep them slightly moist, but never soggy or really wet.
I always leave the peat pots on the tomatoes. They have a very strong root system that always pushes right through the pot. With plants that have a delicate root system, I remove the pots. Glad you decided to try this method. I think you're going to be happy with the results. :)
