  • Thank you for showin Eric Carr. The music, that was playing was his all time favorite band, Led Zeppelin.

  • Ricky Valenze ( La bamba), Andy Gibb,

  • Randy Rhoads!

  • The concert that is waiting for us at the end of this jouney.

  • how the F did Duane Allman not make this video ? He was one of the greatest ever. Also steve gaines from skynrd too.

  • @vcc1965 Not to mention.Billy Powell,Leon Wilkerson, former Skynyd who are also Gone!

  • Thank You for this video - it recalls me, in Finland - of those who have passed. The musical background by LED ZEPPELIN is the right chose. Rest in Peace - we will remember you forever.

  • your hearts in the right place, your information is way off.............

  • I miss Keef :/

  • The name is Duane ALLMAN, as in the ALLMAN Brothers Band. He died in a motorcycle wreck in Macon, GA on Oct. 29, 1971. He was 24 years old. His partner and original bass player for the Brothers died a year later in another motorcycle accident, also in Macon. His name was Berry Oakley. For a clue of just how influential Duane and his band were (and still are) to modern music, search on Bill Graham introducing them closing night of the Fillmore East, 9/23/70.

  • Entwistle died of a Heart Attack induced by Cocaine.

    Bon Scott died of Asphyxiation.

    Dennis Wilson drowned while drunk.

    Elvis died of Barbiturate overdose.

Jim Morrison died of Heart Failure, but no autopsy was performed.

Oh, and not to sound like a dick but; I'm not going to pray because I'm not a Christian.

  • Kurt didn't kill himself, he was murdered get ur facts straight

  • @corkedtrout If it's a fact, it is true/straight :D

Besides, it has not been proven he was murdered and there is more proof he killed himself than there is for he was murdered.

  • too... there are two o's in too god damn it!!! What the fuck has happened to spelling shit the correct way????

  • 57 is actually not that bad considering how young kieth moon was when he died as another member of the who

  • Alright. Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson died after this upload. You should've included Randy Rhoads.

  • Who is this 'young' that they all died to?

  • @inkymoon haha...i didnt get that at first....

  • Tom Evans but not Pete Ham?

  • Paul McCartney.

  • @VojvodinaNet are you a shit?

  • Marc Bolan? Joey Ramone?

  • I think outta respect to these dead people some of the supposed reasons of their demise as listed on this video are incorrect. Urban myth is a whole new dimension. The pray for these people message is lost on some people too including spiritual non believers. Furthermore i really didn't see anything to enjoy, oh maybe it was the song, is that it ?

  • How about Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston?

  • @monsterman704 look at when this video was made, then comment smart ass

  • @monsterman704 They died too late

  • @monsterman704

How is this a top comment? Read the fucking upload date.

  • @monsterman704 This was done four years ago, they were still alive back then. . .

  • Just a few more that come to mind that deserve mention: JACO PASTORIUS, Danny Gatton, Steve and Cassy Gaines, Allen Woody, Jim Croce, Harry Chapin, Pigpen, Brent Midland, Keith Godchaux, John Kahn, Berry Oakley, Duane Allman.

  • marvin gaye

  • selena

  • Rory gallagher

  • Jim Krueger...

  • Layne Stanley! I think that keeping the age under 40 might be better if you lable this 'to(o)' young. Nice effort, though.

  • PLUS MICHAEL JACKSON AND STEVE LEE AND WHITNEY HOUSTON...... rip

  • MOZART, Robert Johnson, Charlie Parker, Gary Moore, Randy Rhoads, Jeff Healey, Amy Winehouse, Michael Hutchings, Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass, Ritchie Valens, Etta James, Falco, Whitney,

  • should have put "" around suicide for Kurt Cobain

  • accessory (correct spelling)

  • I often wonder, if we as fans would treat our music heros like our best friend, instead of like a God of perfection, perhaps they would be less likely to turn to drugs to cover their mistakes which is what humans make. We want to rip their clothes off, get a drum stick or a guitar, an autograph. How about breathing room and acceptance. Fans are sometimes an accessorry to murder through high unreachable expectations. RIP all of you who enriched our lives.

  • cadê o Randy Rhoads?

  • Add Whitney Houston to the list. What about Roy Orbison?

  • JOE STRUMMER????????

  • over 50 is not too young many people die over 50 i have never heard it described as untimely

  • Man you guys!! No wonder this world is so screwed up, too much bitching and not enough appreciation. I enjoyed it and the music. Thank you.

  • Sandy Denny? Nick Drake? Gram Parsons? WTF!

  • Learn to spell before you post.

  • Title should be "Too" not "to"

  • Sorry to be a pedantic pain but it should be "Musicians who died TOO young".

  • @bluesborn Don't bullshit the reader,... nor yourself. You are "not" sorry for being pedantic. It was the entire reason you felt you just had to respond. Otherwise you could have let the error go and not have commented in any manner. Because you added nothing else but your issue to the posting.

Just a fact is all. Or am I just being realistic? If so,.. I still don't apologize for it. ;D Bada-Bing, Bada-Bang, Bada-Boom.

  • @bluesborn also alot= a lot, there music = their music, albe = able

  • I think Hendrix was the most shaming loss of the XX century

  • All of these artists died because god needed music lessons

  • If you want to honor someones memory how about you put up a picture of the actual celebrity instead of an impersonator. 4:39 is not Buddy Holly, it's Johnny Mueller.

  • Nick Drake?

  • amy winehouse 27

  • I sure felt Jim Croce needed to be in your list. A great singer/songwriter who was lost in a plane crash. :(

  • "too"

  • Good video, but you forgot Otis Redding - Plane Crash and Bradley Nowell - Heroin Overdose.

  • correction on Billie Holiday... she did not die of a drug over dose.... she was in a bad car accident, and the part of town she was in did not accept black people in their hospital, she bled to death on the steps of a white only hospital... thank you old america :)

  • @siridyal1 ACTUALLY THAT WAS BESSIE SMITH STORY... NOT BILLIE H. WHICH DID DIE OF OVER DOSE

  • Charlie Parker should be included.

    And Amy Winehouse.

    Maybe Michael Jackson.

it's better that they died young. so people will ever remember!

  • @limonenbaumloeffel Maybe they were still alive when the video was made.

  • terry kath could be on that list.. shot himself by accident with a gun he thought was unloaded, died right infront of his crew.

  • Dennis Wilson drowned, swimming while drunk....

  • Words in the English language that died "to" (sic) young.

    1) Too

  • Why do people dislike? It's impossible to get all of them... And it gave me a list of artists I need to look up. Thanks for posting; very interesting

  • RIP Jimmy Dewar - perhaps the greatest blues-rock singer/bass player (Robin Trower Band)

  • No Layne Staley of Alice In Chains? What The Fuck??

  • How about Layne Staley? :)

  • Lawrence Welk, 89, Pneumonia

Just kidding, great video, you included so many great names - well done

  • where's Ritchie Valens? he was the youngest to die, at 17 years of age.

  • YOU MISSED , DEWAYNE ALLMAN, TOO!

  • your video is sadly moving..so well done..but,sorry...Michael Hutchence is really a too big forgetting..he was a big, really a great artist who left unforgettable songs...R.I.P you too. dear Michael !!

  • Brian Jones:drowning.....at least put a question mark......

  • you forgot Marvin Gaye !!!

  • Did i miss Jim Croce! he should be here

  • good vid...i respect them and honor them...but prayer is not relevant. Thanks from the heart for putting this together.

  • Michael Jackson RIP

  • Pigpen, Keith Godchaux, Brent Mydland, Vince Welnick-how about doing a whole second video just with Grateful Dead keyboard players?

  • Great tribute! Just a note: You forgot Karen Carpenter who died of anorexia.

  • Ian Curtis!!!!!!!

  • Missing a few that shouldn't be forgotten:

    -Layne Staley

    -Jaco Pastorius

  • R.I.P. to the who died in this video for for some of them I ask When will they learn that DRUGS KILL? Look at the number of wrestlers due to drugs.

  • @100bloodshot You are so right! They all could have gone so much earlier, too. I think that God gave them chance after chance but they continued to drug up and now they are silenced (our loss). Rest in Peace to all.

  • WHAT A CONTRADICTION..musicians who died to young...

Murdered is one thing, airplane craft another...condolences.

But if you drug over or alcohol yourself to death..then you didnt die to young..you were too stupid that you killed yourself.

Overly self indulgent people get no pity

  • @davidshultz2007 I never thought of it that way. Being killed in a crash or murdered is not the same as killing yourself over or due to drugs, of which alcohol is a drug. I guess that they never thought it could happen to them. But it did!

  • @davidshultz2007 Some people have trauma in their lives, and if they are genetically wired for addiction, the substance abuse starts. People who are "overly self indulgent" are not addicts, it's impossible for that to ever occur. It's not a choice, it's hell.

  • @davidt5764 So you expect all the homeless people in this country and aroudnm the world to accept that someone who had more money than many could help raise money was "traumatizzed" and wasnt self indulgent -- just troubled.

that soudns liek something lindsey lohan or brittany spears would try to tell a judge with a straight face

Helping others would help these GLUTTONS take focus off their own superificail lives and remind them how lucky they were

    accidents are tragedies drugs arent

  • @davidshultz2007 What a stupid bunch of words!

  • @davidshultz2007 The title is....Musicians who died too young. So this is regardless HOW they died !! If it realy does matter HOW they died, then the title should have been ,,Musicians who died too young because of Drugg/Alcoholl abuse,,

  • @davidshultz2007 You really do need to learn something about the nature of addiction. Everybody who tries drugs thinks they can do it "just once." Most get away with that. But some can't stop thinking about the next time after the very first time. That's why they call it being "hooked." Of course it is different with different drugs and each person is unique but the fact is most drug/alcohol rehab cases relapse. It's easy to judge others when you're not in their skin. All tragic deaths.

  • depressed the hell outta me

  • @duesenbergmj Same here.

  • theres 100s of musicians missing from this lol.. should make a part 2 3 4 and 5..

  • @lazercannoncheck I second that suggestion! Too many missing for sure.

  • Nicely done bro. <3

  • A great tribute but I didn't see Randy Rhoads.

  • peter tosh - murdered

  • Terry Kath-Accidental Shooting, Steve Marriot-House Fire

  • Great tribute for those you were able to fit in but wish you had put in the band name as well

.....I'll add Duane Allman & Berry Oakley both from a motorcylce accident 1 year apart 3 blocks apart. ( Allman Bros Band)

  • @muse0077 And Will Hutchence suicide (what a dummy!)

  • I don't know if anyone said this or not (I'm too lazy to read all the comments), but:

Dennis Danell (Social Distortion), 38, Brain Aneurysm

Also, Brian Gianelli (Bueno/All Autonomy), 25?, Drowning

Rest in peace to these modern punk pioneers!!!

  • What about Marvin Gaye,Randy Rhodes and Pigpen???

  • Townes Van Zandt, Jaco Pastorius and Richard Manuel shouldn´t be forgotten

  • Everyone forgets Lowell George, he died in 1979 @ 34 years old.

  • RIP John and George... you will always live in my heart :')

  • What about Pigpen? He died too young.

  • Forgot Tim Buckley Jeff Buckley's dad, heroin O.D.

  • ToO.

  • @ToshaJonesDrums1 lol you beat me to it *too* derp

  • For all the commenters who say the poster left a lot of people out, Tthere's a limit to the length a YouTube video can be -- 15 minutes to the best of my knowledge. Therefore, the number of people included couldn't be exhaustive.

  • RIP Stevie Ray Vaughn.

  • That's not even a real picture of Buddy Holly.

  • So far no SRV.

  • You left out a lot of more popular artists.... Jim Croce, Elliott Smith, Michael Hutchence, Michael Jackson, Karen Carpenter, Mark Sandman....

  • Who the heck is tom evans??? I know all of the others but what band did he play in??

  • @joedell71 Tom Evans played in Badfinger.

  • You've got your death causes wrong in many instances - Dennis Wilson drowned in the Pacific Ocean while scuba diving ; Brian Jones also drowned in swimming pool; possible homicide; possible asthma attack not heroin overdose. Jimi Hendrix - The Last 24 Hours" tell you he was murdered. Possible same for Janis; Jim Morrison died of 'Natural Causes' official post mortum statement, he was an alcoholic who was dry when he died. FYI

  • RIP Michael Hutchence.

  • @XenoType008

People who die in their 60s, die well below the average life expectancy of a person living in the western world. This is a tribute to musicians that the poster, lildrummerboy50, admires. It's his video. He's done a terrific job. Please show respect to lildrummerboy50 and the musicians he chose to memorialize here. Count yourself fortunate that you've , apparently, never lost anyone close to you older than 30-years-old. If you ever do, you'll know they died way too young.

  • most of them don´t got anyone else than themselves to blame

  • Nice job, Rory Galagher comes to mind, When Hendrix was asked how it felt to be the worlds best guitar player, he replied, I don't know, ask Rory.

  • I would definitely have added Randy Rhoads and Marc Bolan

  • RIP John Entwistle

  • Good work... You can add Elvis to the list of drug overdose deaths as those who were in his inner circle would attest. It has always amazed me the number of musicians who use and have used narcotics only to die early of an overdose ! They see this happen to so many of their contemporaries and yet they still use, overdose and die ! Why do they think they can handle drugs and this wont happen to them ? Why ? Why can we not learn from others ?

  • @dbrinkm1; Such an allegation requires PROOF, please supply or delete your comment!

  • @s13hgp I have many sources, the best being excerpts from " Elvis..Albert Goldman "11-82..chapters 18 and 19.is bsn 038060350g dozens of people who have worked with Elvis over the years have made public statements in and out of press about Elvis prolific use of prescription drugs.Elvis never thought of himself a s drug addict because he had prescriptions.that he could get at the drop of a hat.

  • @dbrinkm1; I think you need proof of the death certificate before you write anything at all, you are just guessing!

  • @s13hgp Talk to Linda Thompson, or any of the Memphis clan that cared for Elvis night and day & they will tell you of the 25 + Rx drugs that Elvis always had on hand.As for Memphis public documents, Big E had enough pull to have those whitewashed.I loved Elvis but he was a prescription drug junkie and far too many people that cared for him have said so. it does no good to ignore the facts.Read the above stated source and see if you change your mind.

  • @dbrinkm1

It's called addiction. It's an illness. People who are sick with addiction aren't logical. Their minds are clouded by their addiction and years of consuming drugs and alcohol. They don't think about the consequences. They don't see/admit that consuming drugs and alcohol never lead to any positive outcomes. I know it's hard to understand for people who've never suffered from addiction. They were in the grips of a beast called addiction that they couldn't free themselves from.

  • @livininomaha I understand addiction AFTER you are hooked but....why do they use it the first time knowing they can get hooked, after seeing so many of their friends die ? Do they think..."I can control this beast even though my friends could not " ? So Sad...

  • @dbrinkm1 I think a lot of people who are vulnerable to addiction (genes/ biologically/physiologically) are often risk-takers/thrill-seekers. They're the kind of people who live for the moment, who say, "What the hell? Why not?" They're less inhibited. More impulsive. That's not to mention, that drugs/alcohol are readily available to musicians at every level, but particularly at the top. I'm sure they're hard to resist when the expense and risk of arrest are totally removed.

  • @dbrinkm1 All that said, I couldn't agree with you more, it's incredibly sad. To see a person self-destruct WAY before their time through alcohol and drugs is beyond sad. That's why we, as a society, have to take away the stigma of addiction and recognize addicts are in a life and death situation and need medical care and treatment the same way someone with cancer needs medical care and treatment.

  • @livininomaha So great to see that somebody really gets it. Thanks

  • Outstanding video. Thanks.

  • How could you show Biggie without Tupac...

  • you missed a few out there

  • SOME OF THESE PEOPLE ARE LIKE 60 THAT IS NOT TO YOUNG

it's in the lap of the gods.

    R.I.P.

  • Jim Croce

  • Marvin Gaye

  • In my mid 60's now, it is sobering to see these faces. Some I knew, Tommy Bolin was a special friend, and others were fellow musicians. Drugs and alcohol, and I survived it all. I tip my hat to all that passed before. Many changed the face of music. Thanks for this moving tribute.

  • @pianoman4rent

Thank goodness for people who made it out to the other side of the drugs and alcohol-fueled lifestyle. I love redemption stories, stories about 2nd and 3rd chances, and stories of people who got clean and stayed clean. As we see in this video, not everybody survives. Bless them. They are remembered.

  • great video
