Finally youve answered my question. Been searching around and know one has been able to literally say the words. And that is, you can record the normal channels in australia like abc, 7,9 and 10, and not just freeview! So now i shall purchase this bloody apple product tommorrow.

If your going to edit the tv show you recorded with the Elgato TV tuner then the program eyetv3 that comes with it will be sufficient. Otherwise for everthing else iMovie is great. Just remember to use the right formats otherwise it won't register in iMovie

Video capturing is not built into the software. Instead you could have to connect your xbox up to the computer and use it as a screen. You then would have to use ishowu or a program like that to record a video game.
