  • gretzky is nab

  • fuck you copyright

  • kurri is from finladn GO KURRI

  • Fuck Van Halen for bitching about the song.

  • LOVE THIS<3

  • song is

    right now by van halen

  • wat song

  • what song is this bud?

  • Best Hockey player to have ever lived...this man right here. Wayne Gretzky. So proud to be Canadian

  • @Veg2006 You shoudn't be proud. Sorry to say, but USA will take Canada in two seconds. Then it will be another part of America. :)

  • @Marine5287 Ya right, U.S doesnt stand a chance against us. We proved that at the winter Olympic games.

  • @Veg2006 Say that to our military and we'll fucking nuke your country. Buh bye.

  • @Marine5287 Figures u would say something like that...Thats why no one likes the States all u fuckers do is threaten people with war.. nuke this nuke that...great way to be a bunch of pussies. Ur no longer privileged with speaking to me. I done listening to ur warmonger ways.

  • @Veg2006 hahahahaahhaahahhaaha ya i'm the pussy, when you're the one blocking people cuz ur getting owned by an American! Dumbass. Hey don't be mad cuz we're better than you. :)

  • @Marine5287 ..u r a sickening person, u know that? grow up, and while ur at it, try growing a heart in the place of that hole in ur chest, eh? there's plenty of monsters in this world already

  • You wanna know how good wayne gretzky was? When he was 10 he scored 378 goals in one season playing against 13 year olds. Enough said

  • @armatageshanks06 I'm 11 and I play with freshman in high school and 8th graders and I'm leading my leauge in goals. Btw I play for the Junior Falcons(AAA)

  • crosby is better

  • @ishkabob99 CROSBY IS GOOD SURE, BUT HE'S GOT A WAY TO GO YET, HE'S STILL AT THE BASE OF WAYNE'S MOUNTAIN.....

  • @znogypogy i was joking

  • I respect Gretzky's accomplishments because he dominated his era like no other professional athlete. That said, goaltending was a joke in the 80s (their equipment was obviously a huge factor).

  • This guy took hockey and NHL to a whole other dimension..

  • 1:54 how did he have that much time in the offensive zone without anyone around haha!! were they taking water breaks or sumthin!!! lmao.. wow!!! nice defense on that one

  • @RAM9119 I was just going to comment on that. That situation should never be possible in any hockey game. How could 99 be left so open?! There was no one else in the screen!!

  • @RAM9119 Because hockey was easier back then. Ya thats right I said it

  • @KGfan7 i agree to a certain point.. i think early 90's started getting better.. but his years in the 80's i agree were easier cause of his team being stacked!!! if he played for the Jets in the 80's he probably wouldnt have had as many records and pts as he does...

  • AWESOME VIDEO

  • Gretzky is THE nr.1 player of all time. His intelligence on the ice was truly remarkable...

  • Gretzky's best known seasons are '82 (92 g, 212 pts) and '86 (163 a, 215 pts), his '84 season is often overlooked, that year he had 87 g, 205 pts, but he missed 6 games. He was on pace to score 94 g and 222 pts. There's no guarantee he would have kept the same pace for the games he missed but if he even scored 1 g and 2 pts/game for those missed (well beow his pace), he'd still have had 93 g, 217 pts. Also, that was the year of his 51 game pt streak where he scored 153 pts, exactly 3 a game.

  • Whats the song?

  • @shadowchaos88

    Van Halen - Right Now

  • Magic!

  • No one can Compare to him right now no one not Even Ovechkin or Crosby and Edmonton will have there Glory Days back

  • @pensrock8 um nooo Crosby can not!!!! even compare to Gretzky. Not until Cindy can score 92 goals in one season. then you can say he's great

  • Wayne Gretzky and his family have made the world a better place and what more can you ever ask. His kindness and giving family is owed a magnificent gratitude, helping millions in many ways. I'm proud to have met him and his Dad on a few occasions. This video is a great tribute to the person and upbringing taught him in the early years. His Dad is a wonderful human being who will do anything to help you, no mater what. Everything they have is respectfully deserved. God bless the Gretzky's.

  • Well done and great job with the vid!

  • wow, the 9 haters dont no anything about hockey. no matter what team gretzky played for, ive always loved the great one.... and always will.... BOW DOWN TO LORD GRETZKY THE HOCKEY GOD!

  • Softest hockey player ever. You can’t take away his records but the fact that he was more of a figure skater then a hockey player says everything. Mario had more stones then Gretz and I hate Penguins.

  • 0:33

  • legend

  • Sort of explains itself! I am am from Edmonton and we will never see another Gretz!!!!! I went to many games back in the 80's and was present for the 50 goals in 50 games!!!!!! Hockey isn't what it used to be. Thanks again Peter Puck! You have screwed with everyone that has come into your life! We still love ya Wayne! Pocklington, you are a first class ass and you are falling fast!!!!!! Jerk! Karma's a bitch hey Pete?

  • 4:07 hahaha It's Awesome!!

  • hey peeps what's the song name

  • this was the former rangers song. DAMN! I HATE THOSE RANGERS! but i give credit to the gr8 one

  • everyone seems to forget that he was also attracting media attention and breaking records since the age of nine......Best ever of course, since his was 9!!!

  • song name ?

  • @kepsutti It's Van Halen's Right Now

  • @Mrpretpakket Ty dude :D

  • I dunno can't argue the stats but I think Lemieux did more with less considering his teams in the 80s and his physical problems.

  • The Greatest of all time!!!!!!! 99!!! Argue that til the day i die, nobody ever wins that arguement with me.. Mario who????? Thats right 99 for ever

  • does anyone notice the st louis blues?

  • Did anyone else notice that this video didn't show him as a St. Louis Blue? He was on the Blues for one year during the 95-96 season.

  • gretzky rocks

  • What's this song called?

  • Van Halen Right Now

  • great compilation... thanks. I love how this video not only shows the greatness of Gretzky, but how hockey is the ultimate game of skill, intellegence, and speed.

  • does anyone else find it funny that once gretzky left as coach phoenix is 1st all of a sudden??

  • anyone notice he helped develop the team and all the extremely good young players the coyotes thave right now???

  • @kratoslinkmaster yeah kinda eerie, but all the yotes fans I know say that Gretzky was a curse to the team

  • @j73180 coyotes fans? what fans lol

  • Hockey culture is not as authentic as it used to be. That's what made it great.

It is now all about money. A commercial type view of the sport. Before it was real, authentic and hit home.

Today's hockey will never fully compare to what it used to be. I could it a privilege to play years ago compared to what kids play today.

They had a higher level of respect and honor for the sport, for the Stanley cup and everything in between. I miss that purity.

That presence died when Gretzky left.

  • Great highlights from the greatest player to ever live!

  • Legend <3

  • When Gretzy wore hited by Suter?

  • The best player of all time. And I think it takes very long time when someone beats his records. Gretzky <3

  • @salekki hmmmm i would say NEVER.

  • 4:05 WOW!

  • Anyone who wants to argue against 99.... When Ovechkin and Crosby are done, we will see if they had to rewrite the rule book because of them --- they did or Gretzky would have had 120 goals in a season by the time he reached his prime.

  • Gretzky was never the same after that yank Gary Suter hit him from behind in the Canada Cup.

  • You cant compare Gretsky to todays players..

  • There is only oneway to compare different hockey players from different times.

    its by their stats.

  • Very true.... and for all those Ovechkin and Crosby fans, how soon can we see 50 goals in 39 games from your guy?

Ovie is pretty good at 50 in 62 games, LOL! Not even in the same universe.

  • @masydoc Just done some rough math.

It will take both Crosby and Ovechkin togather 15 years to match Gretzky points.Or Ovechkin, IF he could keep on is currant pace for 29 years.

I think Gretz is gone be on top for along time.

  • you should take into account the size of goalie equipment back then compared to today have you seen Ryan miller with all his pads he is bigger then the net (95%?) but obviously ovy is not in the same class as gretzky

  • Regardless...he was still putting up numbers that were better than anyone else during that period....it does change over the decades....Ovie and Cros are great too! Not as great as Gretz...the greatest of all time

  • can't beat 200 point seasons

  • How could anybody ever beat 215? It's almost impossible

  • Totally agree. Gretzky has to be compared to players of his time. They all were in the same situation: the goalies didn't wear smaller pads and they sucked (as some jerks think) just when Gretzky was playing. I mean, all players were in the same conditions, yet only he become the God of hockey.

Also, players like him and Lemieux still dominated the league in the late 90s, even they were old and plagued by injuries.

  • not only were their pads smaller, but their style sucked, and damn they were horrible goaltenders. I mean just watch them.

  • come on, the goalies didn't suck for the 20 years that Wayne played in the NHL. I think he just made them look silly. The guy was just so smooth and consistent, the ultimate offensive threat. I'd take Wayne over any other player ever. Hands down. Remember this guy dominated hockey at every level, since he was a kid.

  • there is no doubt he dominated the league far more then anyone else ever has, but the style of play was so much different, the goalies sucked, defense was completely different, none of this argues against his vision and playmaking ability, but the game has changed, put a crosby or ovechkin in that league and i guarentee you they would have similar incredible numbers

  • The goalies did NOT suck they just had smaller pads

  • What a talent he was.. Amazing!!!!!

  • he and jari kurri were best player in world

  • jari kurri is on like 11th place...

  • Gretzky is truly in a league of his own. There is alot of talk that if Orr's knees held up, he would have broken Wayne's illustrious records.. Well I say, coulda, shoulda, woulda... didn't! Oh well, Orr is great but Gretzky's knees DID hold up and he is hands down the GREATEST in his sport, like Tiger, MJ, Federer in their respective sports.

  • In so many of these clips there is no defense even near him. Players that give up when someone blows by them are not worthy.

  • Gretz scored several goals from behind the net by bouncing it off the goalie's back. Each time he apologized to the goalie in the post game interview. All class, and the best player ever.

  • Very well made video

  • i have that exact jersey the kings white 1 number 99 wita c and his name , i always get comments every time i wear it,1 of the best hockey jerseys ever ...agreed? that and the 94 canuck black 1's.

  • The 94 Jerseys for the Canucks were the absolute worst jerseys I had ever seen...

  • only miss by a fraction. set the little on your pace

  • I loved Wayne, AMAZING player, broke my heart when he went hollywood.

However, Bobby Orr was the best I've seen.

Wayne wouldn't even be able to catch Bobby, let alone keep the puck.

  • Oh, how I agree. Orr was/is recognized as being the best skater of all time, one of the best stick handlers, one of the best shots. The best defensive player in history, the best at controlling a hockey game. By far the best +/- a game 1.001 a game vs Gretzky's .35. By far the best gf-ga per game with a 1.46 vs Gretzky's 4th place .83. So..Orr crushes "the great one end of the ice" in many stats. When on the ice Orr simply ruled all 3 zones..99 ruled one zone. 99 = 2285 ga while on the ice.

  • I agree, but you are using defensive stats to judge an offensive player. That would be like me saying Gretzky was better than Orr because he had more goals, assists, and points. Gretzky wasn't as well rounded as Orr (Orr was the most well rounded player of all time - he could do everything) but it's a team game - he didn't have to be great on D because that's what the D are there for. He was there to score, and no one did it more or better than him, ever.

  • @shazariahl well said. However, the gf-ga stat actually favors high scoring forwards..more pp time, less pk time. On the ice when pressing for points, not on the ice as much when defending a lead. Offensive zone face-offs more..defensive zone face-offs less..you get the point. Gretzky simply was not good on D..and this showed his last 10 years when he ran negative numbers for 7 years and going -86 his last 8 years. Probably the greatest ever on offense...not in the top 100 in his own zone.

  • True to a point, but Gretzky was on 1st team PK for basically his entire career. He was usually on late protecting a 1 goal lead as well, so while what you said is generally true, it wasn't in his case. Gretzky has the best +/- of any forward in history, so by your logic he'd be the best defensive forward ever. That isn't really true either. gf-ga punishes players who killed penalties for 20 years, like Gretzky, and does so even more when they play for crappy teams, like he did his last few yrs.

  • Well argued...however, 99 was pretty much pulled from the pk in 90-91..his negative numbers dropped on pk goals against to an all time low of 10..they put him back on in 93/94 and his numbers spiked again...so he actually didn't spend much time on pk his last 9 nine years...and a -86 his last 8 years (-33 his last 11 years..ouch!!). Good thing he played 9 years with the oil. As an Oiler Gretzky was +551 in 696 games...Orr was +597 in 596 games (66 n/a). Go Orr (who played every pk possible!!)

  • @a3her Bobbie is truly the best all round player EVER. he did everything, including leading the league in scoring 2 or 3 times. he was also a tough guy. Wayne was a touch me not. i saw BOTH of their careers from start to stop. I'll tkae Bobbie Orr any day. Wayne was great, Bobbie was better.

  • Mario Lemieux was better then Gretzky and Orr he dominated while playing at 25% health Say what you want but the most offensively talented player ever was super mario actually you cant really say one over the other they had different play styles

  • @a3her bobby orr was a defense, and he played with the best team boston has ever had. In 1970-71 they had Phil Esposito (152) , Bobby Orr (139), Johnny Bucyk (116) and Ken Hodge (105), as 1, 2, 3, and 4 in scoring leaders having Wayne Cahsing (79), John McKenzie (77) and Fred Stanfield (76) at position 7, 8 and 11. I think they were more an ofeensive power at this time than the Oilers of the mid 80's. i'm just saying it's hard to compare forward and defense, but Orr was awesome, and spectacular

  • @a3her Bobby Orr is the leader in only two stats. Most points in one season by a defenseman Orr-139 Coffee-138 & Most assists one season by a defenseman Orr-102 Coffee-90.

Not really that dominating now is it.

That gf-ga you talk about thats not a NHL stat.

  • @MrRob7004 Yet gf-ga is the only stat that ultimately matters..interesting eh. Ask any coach, or for that matter, any knowledgeable hockey person...what matters is what happens on the ice..at both ends. "The great one end of the ice" had the best stat filled career in history (he is my 3rd favorite player). However, he also had the record for most goals against while on the ice, ran negative +/- numbers for 7 years

Coughy isn't a top 8 dman or top 50 player

Orr ruled all aspects of the game!

  • 1:55 lol Gretzky, the best to play our sport, ever

  • hahaha yeah dirty move

  • can anyone tell me - what music is it???can I doewnload it somewhere???

  • i put orr ahead of him

  • me too

  • his style would have worked in any era, he played with the players almost always in front of him assuring he knew where everyone was

  • there no question that gretzky was the best player in the history of hockey just based on the records he holds you can determine that i rememeber going to the Kings games as a 5 yr old kid gretzkys first year with the kings he was a amazing player the debate now is if gretzkys style of play would work in todays nhl would he be as effective even if he was in his prime i dont know what do other people think? but there was only one Great One

  • well he dominated in 1996,1997,1998 and was getting the same amount of points the leading scorers get today on brutal teams pushing 40 and playingbthur a back injury. An 18 yr old gretzky in todays game with no clutch and grabbing would be the leading scorer every year no doubt

  • If you are someone that thinks there was a better hockey player in the world than Wayne Greatzky...then you know nothing about the game of hockey...you should stick to ping pong...there was nobody who could have done...or will do what he has done...he shares or holds over 61 NHL records...yeah...that was through luck right...get a life you stupid assholes...go watch TV...ping pong is coming on...WAYNE GREATZKY...THE BEST THERE WAS...THE BEST THERE WILL EVER BE!!!

  • @eddydavis00 hey, ping pong is good game!

  • no sid and Mario WOULD be better and have those records IF sid played against the goalies that 99 played against and mario WOULD be better if he was playing on both legs.

  • @eddydavis00 If Bobby Orr had played a full career, he'd have more than 61 records.

  • @eddydavis00 Sorry eddy, I've seen 'em all since the 1950s and the top 10 ever goes like this: 1. Bobby Orr 2. Wayne Gretzky 3. Gordie Howe 4. Bobby Hull 5. Vladislav Tretiak 6. Mario Lemieux 7. Rocket Richard 8. Mark Messier 9. Paul Coffey 10. Valeri Kharlamov. Honourable mentions to Jacques Plante, Jaromir Jagr, Nicklas Lidstrom and Stan Mikita.

If you doubt Orr's credentials, Youtube it, man, and be in awe.

  • @eddydavis00 I agree man he was the BEST EVER!!!!

  • @eddydavis00 It not about luck dude people are just saying that back then it was alot and i mean ALOT easier. Back then the pads barely covered the net. Now if a goalie stand straight ther are barely any blind spots. The players and goalies were alot less of quality then now a days. Also ther equipement would actuly reflect light in ther eye...

All this sayed i still think wat he did was insane. He deserve his place hand down in the top 5 all time. But is he the n. 1? That is still for debate

  • If you think there was anyone else that was better than Greatzky...then obviously you know nothing about hocky...and you are a fucking moron...the best player of all time...is WAYNE GREATZKY!!!

  • Van Halen 'Right now' is the song if someone undering ^^

  • There is only one Great One!!

  • @Kain6644 yeah, FINLAND!

  • @Kain6644 yeah and thats crosby

  • as great as gretzky was, if it wasnt for mario lemieux's injuries mario wouldve had a better career and i'm not a pens fan im a ranger fan

  • i will agree with you. gretzky is a great player but lemieux would have had tied or broken some of gretzky's record if it was not for his injuries. there is only 2 players in the nhl to have more than 190 pts in a season. gretzky had 5 190 pts season and lemieux had 1 190 pts season

  • Whats the song ?

  • Could be wrong on the title, but I think it's "Right Now" by Van Halen.

  • Obviously, you are not a Hockey fan and never read Sports Illustrated. You shol dhave read Sports Illustrated's recent article on Bobby Orr.

  • Gretzky was the greatest of all time

  • wat about him with st.lou

  • Woundedxxx your may be right the only person that can match up Gretzky may be ovechkin, Ovie is amazing but I don't think he can match up to Gretzky.

  • The only one who can match gretzky is ovechkin, by my opinion! Tell me if im wrong

  • Gretzky put hockey on the map in LA. It wasn't that popular out here before that. Afterwards, San Jose, Anaheim, Dallas, Phoenix all sprang up as expansion franchises or were moved from other cities. Having a team in the south was unthinkable before that. It goes beyond who is the better player on the ice. Gretzky has just made a bigger impact. If Ovie can do the same for hockey, then I"ll say Ovie can "match" Gretzky. In skill, records held...99 is far superior.

  • You're Wrong!

Mario Lemieux, Bobby Orr, Gordie Howe, and Steve Yzerman are equal to if not better than Gretzky.

  • Gretzky was the greatest of all time...period!

  • Well my friend, I'm guessing your from Boston. Typical, Boston fans are the biggest yet loyal front runners in the world. If your seriously comparing Orr to Gretzky I'd have to believe your intoxicated. Simply put, had Gretzky never scored a goal in the NHL he'd still be the all-time leading scorer. Orr was great I'll give you that, but the same could be said that Mantle would have been the greatest if not for his knees.

  • Did you ever see Bobby Orr play? Obviously not. Did you ever see wayne gretzky play? I've seen them both. Gretzky is the Great One, but Orr is the Greatest of All Time.

  • u forgot the st.louis blues

  • Gereat memories. Those were great times.

  • Whats The Song Man

  • The song is "Right Now" by Van Halen.

  • nice

  • Gretzky? more like Divezky

  • The definition of a Dangler!

  • 2nd best, to bobby orr that is...\

nobody will ever compare to orr's dominance

  • Bobby Orr, the greatest Defensemen and the greatest player to ever play in the National Hockey League. Orr dominated the NHL, his knees betrayed him. If he had a good set of knees, he probably would have passed Goride Howe and Wayne gretzky would have been assaulting Orr's Records.

  • Doesn't matter if the game has changed. Would he get as many points today - no. Would he still lead the league in points - yes! Would he still be the smartest hockey player ever - Yes. Did he have Orr's control of the puck or Mario's reach and skill - NO. And we always hear what if Orr played longer, or Mario played longer. Well, what if Gretzky had Marios size and Orrs puck control and skating - what then? Maybe 300 points. Smartest player ever!

  • u for got the blues?

  • I HATED his years as an Oiler (never guess who I cheer for ;-) ) but there was NO getting around the talent.

Best there was, best there will ever be.

    Good vid!

    5 Stars!

  • missed the st louis year(s)

  • Great vid! What, couldn't find any St. Louis Blues footage?

  • Gretzky deserves all he has and what he worked for, best NHL player all time but HE NEVER HAD THE HEART MARIO DID MARIO WAS DIAGNOSED WITH CANCER AND HIS BACK WAS BADLY HURT BECAUSE PEOPLE WHACKED AND HACKED HIM BUT HIS POINTS PER GAME AND ALL THAT ARE EQUAL OR MORE THAN GRETZKY

    FTH..

  • Gretz holds 61 NHL records (40 regular season, 15 playoff and 6 All Star)

Mario was a great player and who knows WHAT could have happened had he stayed healthy but the record books speaks for itself

  • he is the best

  • gretzky was an amazing player and deserves the records he holds but you have to remember the games changed a lot since his time

  • A amazing tribute to "The Great One"

    thanks

  • go gretzky go we will always remember you

  • right now-van halen

  • thanks

  • amazing <3

    what song is that?

  • Actually, he did that 3x, not just once.

  • No disrespect to Crosby, but 20 years from now Gretzky will still own almost all of his 60 records. Crosby will be remembered as being a great player, like Bossy, LaFleur, Hull and many others. But he won't be anything like Gretzky.

  • i saw him when he played for the new york rangers. i have taped games when he played for four different teams; the oilers, the kings, the blues, and the rangers. the best player i ever saw on real-ice hockey, no doubt. my favorite moment was to have seen my favorite team, canadiens , to have beaten his los angeles kings' team in the '93 stanley cup finals.

  • greatest player ever...better than crosby...even in the little ways. played like a real man, just as amazing, no visor, tough

  • Gretzky = BEAST!

  • wats the name of this song

  • right now - by Van Halen

  • lame song but good video
