  • its verry good in german the marchingband Brake (

    .marchingband-Brake.de) plays as a warm-up!!!

  • our brass play this before field shows to scare other bands.

  • like my comment so the top two arnt about death and jizz at the same time

  • absolutely beautiful excellent work all of you

  • Love this recording! I could pick out that mello part SO well! I think I finally have it transcribed correctly.

  • Phantoms hornline gives me a serious diamond cutter of a boner.

  • WHY AREN'T ALL THE MELLOS FACING THE SAME DIRECTION WITH THEIR BELLS????

    /drum corps OCD

  • @Bah3932 Cuz the bells are big and they are in the middle which makes it really difficult to see the director

  • @SparkyTheDog22 Yeah, I know that. . . but usually everyone stands so their bells are facing in the same direction. I.e., everyone on the high brass side angles to the right and watches the conductor over the left side of the bell (and vice versa for low brass). Everyone seems to be doing that except for the mello closest to the center. Just one of those minor ticks that irritates me.

  • Awesome!!!

  • @ Toka972 You obviously have no clue about what drumcorps is about. First, Regiment performed this piece in their 2003 show. So this particular arrangement WAS made for an outdoor performance. Second, you are listening to a RECORDING on YOUTUBE, which is not going to reproduce the same sound as if you heard it live. If you actually heard this performed live, with you sitting in the middle of that arc, you would recant your whole statement.

  • I hate it and i will explain why.

I really feel like the play is great but this isn't something that should be recorded on open air like that, and most of all, the leader should not have made such a stupid setup lining up all the regiment like that. It feels like he doesn't care for the sound and just put up un show meanwhile destroying the harmony and the quality of it. This should be played and recorded in an accoustic place, but the way it is... It just feels like a simple and pure WASTE.

  • @Toka972 you know. i don't know if you've notced. but. they areall NOT in uniform. meaning that this wasn't supposed to be a big show. especially with the battery in the back ground. its a warm up. not their opener at the world championships.

  • @Toka972 Ok First of all they do this song as a warm up, so dont get pissie. Second of all there set up like there sopposed to be set up. Tuba center, Baritones sides of the tuba line, and trumpets and mellophones at the very end. I would also like you to tell this to one of the best orginization members, Paul Rennick, to tell him in his face.

  • @BeatDrumSticks Wtf? Your statement makes no sense whatsoever. Paul Rennick is a drum guy, you retard. Plus, he's no longer with Regiment anymore. He's with SCV now.

  • @BeatDrumSticks Dude, where does Paul Rennick fit in anywhere at all in this video? Last I checked, this was the brass line, not the drum line. And besides that, Rennick is now with SCV.

  • @Toka972 Ummmm... I'm in PR this year, and I can tell you one thing beyond a shadow of a doubt: You have no clue what you are talking about.

  • @samrshelley dude. i'm so jealous. ya'll are so gonna take the championship this year. playin mozart's requium is about the sexiest thing a corps can do. ever. good luck man!

  • @bhgblackmamba1 Thanks man. I sure hope we do too. That would be something special beyond my wildest dreams.

  • @Toka972 I've never heard anyone call beautiful music a waste before. What is this world coming to?

  • @Toka972 Dumbass... that is all

  • Comment removed

  • THIS is why we play music! Heeeeeck yes!

  • Sexy contra ripple, and fantastic playing.

    Phantom's brass line is unmatched.

  • @tyzon05 except the cadets with Hymsong of Phillip Bliss

  • Beautiful!!!

  • I absolutely LOVE this soooo much!!

  • Everytime. Every. Time. I listen to this, I get chills, and shiver. Phantom Regiment puts the a** in brass. (:

  • Now, that's music !

Amazing, thanks for sharing that with us

    ;o)

  • time to change my pants

  • we're playing their show for our marching band this year, and it sounds about as good, still some bad balancing but what do you expect?

  • @mindkilla123 No it doesn't, I guarantee it doesn't sound even close to this good.

  • AHHAHAHAH THE TRUMPET SOLO AT THE END

  • @afrothunder32 I got to go to PR DM camp a couple years ago. Apart of the camp we got to sit in on practice, we got to sit in the middle of the arch. They actually played this song, the feeling was so hard to describe

  • @cuttinhorse101 What year, and which location? Not 2008 Frostburg?

  • Dat ass

  • soooo geil !!

    gänsehaut pur !

  • Does anybody know where to get the sheet music for this?

  • my good friend and instructor Andy Gerke was in this on mellophone, in April 2009, he was killed in a terrible car accident, this makes me remember him and how proud he was to march with The Regiment, RIP Andy

  • @SUNSNARE06 I read the story, love drum corps, RIP Andy...

  • @olbuksings

Thank you, Andy was one of my instructors in my first year at the open class corps I march with, he also was a Boston Crusaders alum as well

  • I like =) <3

  • I just have one word for this...captivating!

  • it would sound better on G horns and I tell no lies.

  • did anyone else cry watching this?!?!?

  • @afrothunder32 yes...This makes me wish I was a trumpet player...

  • @afrothunder32 yes me too! Over and over again! Must have been amazing hearing this live in front of all those trumpets

  • @afrothunder32 Listen to it live and you really get chills. I was at PR DM camp a couple years ago, we got to watch a practice, we got to sit in the middle of the arch and hear them play this. Talk about cold chills

  • it's soo good! i have shiverss

  • @joejonasluver112 Ever listen to it live? I went to PR drum major camp a couple years ago, we got to listen to them play this. They were in the arc shape and we were sitting in the middle, best seat ever, listening to this gave me shivers, and it made me tear up a bit

  • @cuttinhorse101 OH WOW you're so lucky!!!!! i haven't even been to a DCI show before!! only high school marching bands haha. wow you are luckyyy. im jealous haha

  • @joejonasluver112 I haven't been to a DCI show, there's one coming to my area but I have to work that day. I may go to DCI World this year instead. I went to the PR DM camp during the Spartacus, it was cool to watch the behind the scenes

  • @cuttinhorse101 awesome

  • @afrothunder32

    Every time.

  • lol@ the person starting to yell at the end

  • At my school we play this for warm ups every morning

  • this is at my high school!! I played a lot of football games on that field, and I can hear them play every single summer from my house. I love hearing these trumpets at 7 in the morning

  • @throwerfan22 Lucky!!!!!

  • @afrothunder32 thats exactly how i feel!!!!!

  • I would LOVE to be in Phantom just to have the opportunity to play this.

  • i love this song, my high school played it for our half time show, i gotz the beastly trumpet part lol..

  • Little did obrienator know how valuable this footage would become.

  • at epi, true that. 2006 hornline's intonation is incredible compared to other years.

  • leave it to the drum line to mess up the moment

  • @th3drummers

    they made it better

  • GO MELLOPHONES!!!

  • After listening to this i only have one word to say......JIZZZZZZZZ!!

  • @TurboMcnasty753 JIZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!

  • the mellophones/mid voices are freakin amazing!!

  • It's so Harmonic!!! lol

  • Damn

  • always been curious why they don't use Bach Stradivarius model horns, expensive yes, incredibly good tone - HECK yes

  • would you want those outside in the summer heat and grime for three months? :)

  • I would love to march Phantom, not amount of icky summer heat would change my mind!

  • its my dream to march phantom lol, but i was just commenting about using professional level concert horns for outdoor use.

  • dude every time its amazing. percussionist sayin this btw. i love that sound

  • this moved me deeply, especially around0:50-1:47. i'm a flute player & this made me wanna be a brass player.

just the thought of going to band camp makes me all tingly &nd excited :D

  • Everyone wants to be a brass player.

  • cause brass is the best!

  • :O......everytime..... WHOO!!!!

  • it always does. also whenever i hear firebird finale. phantom or not, its a good listen

  • omg this is william penn's warm up. an allumni of our school made this in b flat and it sounds really cool

  • DAMN! their grass is all right. ours has hole and stuff. its not even green

  • lol. You should see the field after they've done some basic blocks on it. Perfectly straight, parallel lines of brown grass up and down the field. It's amazing.

  • Bravissimo!

  • Every. single. time.

  • if anyone has the music for this or any version of it, please let me know, this would make an excellent on-field warm-up

  • i play the baritone in open class..and this song always makes me want to play the mellophone.. =P

  • I too play baritone, but in High School

  • i play mellophone in a high school band. i wish this was our on-field warm-up

  • Comment removed

  • I love the entire line's sound, especially the Mellow's/Trumpet's sound. And I'm extremely impressed with the contra entrance.

  • 0:35 is the greatest contra entrance i've ever heard. without a doubt.

  • listen to ave maria played by them in the related videos.

  • everytime i listen it gets more and more beautiful

  • imagine leading a corp like that.

  • i am so showing this to my band director

  • i wish i could get our marching band to use this as a warmup for brass.

  • WHere can I get an MP3 Recording of this? BECAUSE IT"S AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

  • google youtube downloader, get it, download this video, and convert the file you download into mp3 format, best of luck.

  • actually this is a non-vocal version of Sanctus. Its sang by Libera. You can youtube them, or heh, download it.

  • I see where you're coming from, but wasn't Sanctus released in 2006, whereas Phantom Regiment has been playing this since 2003

  • no, Libera have sung many versions of sanctus(since boy choirs change members every now and then). The earliest version sang by them was in 1999, i think. Its in their first album called Libera, released in oct 1999.

  • ohh okay. I didn't know that. I guess phantom just kept the name canon, because that's what the song was originally based off of, and its a more recognizable name.

  • Comment removed

  • is that a mellophone starting @ 0:19? i can't tell but i'm pretty sure it is

  • yup

  • Yes it is!

  • I went to a drum major camp with Phantom and got to conduct this piece for their hornline. It was probably the best moment of my life.

  • amazing

  • what DM camp was it?

  • I went to the same camp, when we got to see PR during this part , I got chills . I loved getting the chance to march with PR

  • Yeah! I loved marching with them...it was sick. It was really nice to actually meet them and see they were people too haha. Not "gods" as one of my fellow DMs likes to think

  • yeah, i used to think the same thing about Corps.. but once you march and see your just like everyone else and your all doing the same thing it changes your outlook on it completely. It's amazing to have the chance to do it though

  • Yeah =) I play clarinet during concert season, but I am learning to play Euph and I'm trying out for either Glassmen or Spirit next fall.

  • lol Euph's are crazy, i wouldn't wanna lug that thing around all summer! That's cool though, summer feels like it'll never end but when it's done its like.. wow.. it's over already?

  • haha i know exactly what you mean =) did you march corps this past year?

  • yep! I marched at Boston :-D

  • thats cool...i think im gonna try for glassmen next year...or spirit, not sure which. what did you march? horns or drums?

  • soooo true

  • that would be freaking amazing, i can't even begin to imagine. congrats!

  • thanks!

  • Im going to Quarter finals after band camp this thursday the Band director is letting every 1 out ealry and were gunna meet up there. Cant w8. Im a Phantom fan til i die but you have to give credit to HOly Name for placing top 2. I dont wanna see bd take it. Phantom im hoping that they dol what they did last year and just have a kick ass finals and at least place top 5.

    GOOOO PHANTOM!!!!!!!~

  • After spending a day of having my ass kicked by band camp, I use this as motivation to keep going. :)

  • hahah ai totally agree with you

  • yeah I hear ya there

  • 0:18

That... is the most beautiful mellophone melody ever DOES ANYONE/EVERYONE OUT THERE AGREE WITH ME!?

  • 1:10 makes my life. phantoms mellos are better than everything on the face of the earth

  • I KNOW!!! a really good buddy of mine from my high school made Phantom and he plays mello..... Mark Price is his name

  • Comment removed

  • Even though this sounds exactly like Cannon in D at the beginning, it's really called Sanctus. I remember playing this as an opener in high school.

  • no offense to trumpets, but horns, euphs and contras are the reason why PR's hornline is so perfect.

  • God I want to rock my sensitive hearing in a division 1 corps.... PR hornline is fucking sick...

  • i play snare drum for my high school, but i wish that the hornline at my school would play this so i could hear it everyday.

  • i do too man! and i couldnt agree more haha

  • ok srry bout the misspell braxtonioan

  • braxonian...how many times are you gonna say that? i understand that you are upset but dang, let it go.

  • CAN SOMEONE PLEASE WXPLAIN TO ME WHY NOT ONE DRUM CORP HAS ANY WOOD WINDS...it kinda makes me sad :'(

  • They're drum and bugle corps, not drum and woodwind corps.

  • cuz their sound is too weak

  • Drum Corps is short for Drum and Bugle Corps, meaning they consist of only Percussion and Brass.

Woodwinds don't belong in Drum Corps.

  • they are Drum and Bugle Corps meaning on brass and drums... A lot of the experience of hearing a drum corp is the sheer power and richness behind the sound, and sorry but woodwinds can't generate near the amount of decibels with good tone that a brass player can

  • why not just learn a brass instrument and try your luck

  • b/c WWs are soo quiet. you'd never hear them. and ultimatly b/c it's a Drum and BUGLE corps. not a Drum, Bugle, and Woodwind corps. tht's called a marching band. but look at it this way...they dont have any trombones either.

  • yea which sucks and my band director will not let me borrow the school marching baritone when its not being used so pretty much ill have to either rent or buy one so i can prepare for the 2011 auditions

  • Im tryin out in 2011 too. on Euphonium obviously. well except im trying out for Crown. you can still prepare on trombone cause they are pretty much the same voice in the chord.(they're both tenor instruments). plus they sound pretty much the same.

    Go For it tho!

    Tht sucks dude

  • I am mainly talkin about the fingerings. I know them but then again I don't know them. It takes me awhile to remember which fingering to play for each E. I can really remember them if I had a baritone and I could play it for like 10 days straight.

  • I'n gonna try out too on contra ,for crown, in 2011 but if not then the year after.

  • we're talking bout the Euphonium/Trombone.

But the contra is pretty sweet too.

GOD i hope i make it!!

    or shld i say "we"

  • YEAH MAN GO CROWN!!!!!! i just saw them in ATL at the southeastern champs last night! best night of my life so far!!!!!!!!!!! maybe my sophomore or junior year of college, i try out for them or the Crusaders.

  • Yeah i was there too. Crown should have won. The Blue devils show was bad. I mean Chairs..really? They only won cause the are the blue devils. band politics much yeah? I have to say i was a little disappointed with Phantom's show. I thought it'd be better. not that it was bad or anything. but yeah Crown deff has the best show this year.

  • I loved when that one Trumpet hit that high G, the place went nuts!!!!!!!!!!!! do you policy on uploading vids of DCI on youtube?

  • Hardly...idk i was sitting nxt to this really cute girl, i wasnt really payin attention to the show.lol

no i dont think so..about the uploading vids.

  • My seats were AWESOME! right on the 50, 6 rows back. did you see the drum major for The Crossman? Damn! she was hot!!!!!!!!!!!

  • And agian, i was distracted by the girl nxt to me. haha

i was on the very top level on like the 30 still a good view tho. and great sound

  • i agree i saw BD on here, and I did not like their show at all! The chairs are stupid. Its fine if you have like one or two but to have them all over the field is stupid in my opinion. I also thought the show was kind of easy I have seen alot harder by BD

  • I totally agree with you on everything. and Phantom has a good show bu its not something youd normally see from them. Their show is str8 out Jazz and in my opinion it doesnt show how beautiful the brass line is to me like the -8 mello solo and 03 canon these were shows that let you jus sit back and enjoy the brass and this year the only section that is really amazing in this show is perc. not bcuz of a bad brass line but bcuz of the show selection

  • i my opinion The 2003 Phantom Regiment was the best show.

idky but i just loved tht show (Harmonic Journey).

If you want a good brass sound from the Regiment go look at their 89 show. Good God it was awesome!!

The show was kinda boring but the music was of the chain..imho

  • It Depends.

Entertainment wise it has to be Spartacus. there wasnt a moment of boring.

Musicalty and Brass wise. Harmonic Journeys and On air they are just amazing and really show how amazing

    Phantoms brass is

  • God I loved On Air!!!

Especially the opener the trumpets are just on the ball at tht part.

    Besides phantom

I think tht Carolina Crown is stepping up.

their past 3 shows have been really good. I really liked Finis

  • yeah im going to quarter finals tomorrow woot woot and i say tha Crown is 2nd Bd 1st and holy name 3rd unless cavies keep uping their scores

  • Just saw them last night in Valdosta! Still one of the loudest things out there besides commercial jets :)

  • goosebumps,goosebumps, and more goosebumps

  • im holding back tears. this over bd's space chords any day

  • The ya still killed the mood a little though

  • Then watch a different video.

  • Who shouted @ the end

  • My Mum :-)

  • We were cheering for them.

  • I love this piece :)

    It always cheers me up

  • Damn those Mello parts are insane

  • Yeah. That octave gliss is fucking
