Giving my props to Marshall ... I remember watching the game where Leftwich was carried by his teammates down the field live. I think ESPN was covering it. I have never seen a player with more heart play through an injury like that, before that game or since. That was before I had even heard about the tragedy, which I didn't know about until ESPN did a special in 2000.

There are still families that live in Huntington who lost a father, brother, etc. Everyone in some form or fashion at Marshall is affected by that day. You tell Mary Jane Tolley, who hadn't been to a Marshall game in 40 years since her husband died, that no one cares anymore. You don't have to understand it, just respect it.
