I think you will find, though, that most of the atrocities you mention were not perpetrated by people in the name of their country. In fact it was in the name of their religion. I think that gives us Brits an advantage in that in terms of proportion of population, there are not many religious people in the UK.

Wrong the coldstream guards are older.Raised in 1650.The Grenadier guards were raised in 1656.

Being a Drum Major myself Its not always easy to keep focused on what your doing when you have thousands of eyes watching u. this DM did well to recover but then again if the mace had gone down he and the band would of carried on and somone would of picked up the mace after the parade had passed. Good on him for keeping hold of the mace not easy being a DM
