don't you people know anything Vegemite or (yeast extract) is just the left overs from producing beer the original is called 'marmite' which is English i believe. I'm not sure about this but i think it was popular during galippoli and that's how it caught on, the texture is like half set bitumen and believe it or not marmite is better!! and obviously I'm Australian
