  • i jest got 2 pictus catfish and a silver tipped shark in teh same seized tank as yours but 1 pictus is not active at all he jest hides and nothing else is he jest getting used to his cage resting maby idk plz help!!!!!!!!

  • @stickanimator2000 the pictus could just be getting used to the tank or it could be sick, if he looks skinny then he is probably sick and i would try feed him as much as he'll eat without leaving food resting at the bottom afterwards.

  • @jonno3600 is that a saltwater tank?

  • @thecoolgerman1 fresh

  • @jonno3600 ok thx

  • Ive got 2 Crayfiish In a 30 Gallon tank can i put a Pictus in Or not? :/

  • @LisShaan you would get more than 1 since they are schooling fish. it will most likely just hide if you have one.

crayfish are scavenger fish and will try and eat any fish that gets close to them so i probably wouldnt unless you get rid of your crayfish. then again i have 3 in my tank with a crayfish and all my other fish are fine

  • @jonno3600 Aaah thanks for the reply check out my vids to see the crayfish :))

  • @jonno3600 Singles will do fine, but you are right, they prefer to school. They also prefer to have a nice current to swim in to.

  • @LisShaan depends on species of crayfish. if its a smaller less aggressive species like hammers cobalt blue lobster, then yeah but a larger species id be careful :/

  • wtf i didnt know you can mix them with cichilds

  • @cleerin1 yeah, you can but having them in such a ph like i did in the video isnt ideal but the main thing u gotta worry about is them getting there whiskers bitten but ive had them with big africans to big oscars and other americans which i have atm, i still have these and they're pretty big now

  • can u tell me what gravel you are using. my Pictus Catfish doesnt come out, think its cos of the gravel ive got...!?

  • @05bloxhs its probably not the gravel and ive noticed mine are 1 and a half years old now and they dont come out as much anymore. but anyways the gravel i use is calcium carbonate gravel (raises ph for africans)

  • @Jonno3600

    Thanks nice tank

  • Do they keep the bottom of the tank clean I won't to get 3 instead of clown loaches what do u think I should get

  • @Chiclidking1214 they've never missed any uneaten food, they are excelent at gettin the scraps and arent scared to come out at all. i would go these over clown loaches anyday, i used 2 have 3 loaches and they didnt eat that many scraps compared to the pictus

  • @Chiclidking1214

I would only get clown loaches if you have a MASSIVE tank as they grow to around 18"+. Many fish shops will sell them to anyone, they hardly ever ask you what size tank you have, they just want your hard earned cash. In reality, they are only really suited to outdoor heated ponds or a 6ft x 3ft x 2ft aquarium at the least.

Pictus catfish get to around 6" but you should really get at least 4 as they are a schooling fish. Minimum aquarium size should be around 160 litres +

  • @ng31200 $7 in america. mine is now about 7 inches.

  • mine is $6

  • the ones at my pet store are 8$ without tax

  • @ng31200 in Australia they're around $25ea for 4-5cm

  • how big is your tank

  • @gavinrocks101 6x6x2 foot

  • What do pictus catfish eat? Im geting them for christmas.

  • @aznboiatytube Anything they find really, they'll eat leftover flakes/pellets that float to the ground but if there really hungry they'll come to the surface and try get some. you can just feed them vege and meaty sinking foods if you dont think they're getting enough food.mine eat leftover hikari pellets and i feed them hikari carnivourous sinking pellets and the sinking hikari gold pellets, they love them!.

might not be ur choice but they do really well in a school of 3+

  • excellent tank

  • @digitalmicetails Thanks, the're in a 6x2x2ft tank now and are very happy, they're almost fully grown now and are living with 3 oscars, trimac cichlid, 3 synodontis,3 clown loaches, 2 bala sharks,4 silver dollars, 3 pleco's and 1 big salmontail catfish

  • @jonno3600 good choice of fish

  • They like to be in groups, you should get another one.

  • @tomcat13claws if you watched all of the vid you will see i have 4 all up, there in a 6X2X2 FT tank now and are almost fully grown

  • @jonno3600 How big are they? I've read they get to be around 6 inches or so but have never seen one that big.

I have a Columbian Cat Shark that is 10 inches.

  • @tomcat13claws my biggest is bout 13cm from mouth to tail, which is bout 5inches

  • see if u get cooked ham and trim of all the fat round the edges. then cut it into strips they go mad 4 it.. now ur prob thinking that will just kill them cooked ham but no ive done it with my pictus and ive 7 of them now and thers a pair in me tank. but all the best with ur wee ones

  • how big is your fish tank? looks nice! i got my pictus bout 2 weeks ago, called him mr. whiskers lol :) i wuv him!

  • @candy18869 haha, the tanks 5ft (315litres), i got them with oscars, silver dollars and a flowerhorn now, check out my latest vids, they have grown abit too :D, i feed them "super cichlid sinkers" now and my oscars dont like them so the pictus eat them all up

  • have a look at mine. ther great nice tank. wat do ya feed them

  • @scottylad79 just leftover hikari cichlid food from the africans and some vege wafers for the pleco's, and also bloodworm

  • the looks great always wanted one

  • @dan197dan197 yeah the're very active catfish and look nice and they get along well with most fish, just not neons or any other fish that might fit in there mouth

  • I need to fatten them up i think
