I'm sorry but this isn't how you play chasing cars, you've just shown some basic chords with a basic strumming pattern that barely resembles the song. I understand making songs simpler for beginners but you can't take a picking song and just cover it with basic strumming and open chords. = [
Thanks for this. Encouraged me to have a go. I tried it your way at first but when I was doing the strumming bit I realised I was hearing the picked notes and it suddenly dawned on me they are part of the same three chords! I find it easier to make the full open chord shapes and pick the 3rd and 1st strings on the A and E chords and the 4th and 1st on the Dsus2.
Easier for a beginner like me than trying to find the seventh fret!
You're GREAT! Thank you for such a great lesson! I LOVE this song! I am so inspired as I am a beginner and I think there is hope I may be able to actually learn this!!! THANKS
Picking- 2nd finger on the 2nd fret on the G string and then a loose high E (2 bars of that) Then 1st finger on the 1st fret again on the G string and high E (2 bars of that) Then a loose D string and high E (2 bars of that) then back to the 2nd fret
Strumming- 4 bars of A Major, 4 bars of A Major 7, 4 bars of D Major then back to A Major then back to the picking

Basically its a power chord mate. First finget on the top e string and put your little finger on the a7th fret of the a string. Then keep your hand in that posistion and move it up one so first finger is on the 4th fret of the e string and your little finger is on the 6th fret of the a string. Then its the same for the bit after but its first finger on the a string 5th fret and little finger on the 7th fret of thed string.
Sub titles for all! Intro: Finger 1: 7th Fret of 4th String Fifth finger OR Third finger: 9th Fret 3rd String Then Finger 1: 6th Fret 4th String Fifth or third: Same as above. Then Finger 1: Open String Fifth or Third: Same as above. For the rest of the song, Play A, E, D(remove second finger). Just play those chords over and over again
About a month ago I found this old guitar that someone had thrown away. Other than a few scratches on the back, I can't really see anything wrong with it.
So far, I've been learning fairly quickly; however, I broke a string. Now, I can't seem to replace it without breaking it.
I tried going to a music store to see if they would show me, but they wouldn't.
this is definitely one of the best tutorial for this song... but can you write down the tabs for me... my speakers and volume control suck on my computer that i can't really hear all that your saying - thanks
thanks a lot! i just bought a guitar last night but i have no idea how to play. just started and i'm geting most of it down. can anyone tell me how to strum for the chorus? do i just strum all downwards or down up down up?
can someone please help me, whats the strumming pattern for this?
pretty good leson, except i think you could have gone into detail a bit more. and i agree with some others at the end it did get a bit confuseing, but im a beginner so that could just be my lack of experience lol. probably.
thing is...yes, it starts on a, but its ae, which transposes to e and g#e, then d, back to a. not bad i guess though. i'll put up one for the piano sometime soon
Fair Dinkum cobber! couldnt make out half of what you were saying mate, but it was still a very good lesson, short sharp and to the point. Your not Justin Sandercoes old man,are you by any chance?
On the record he plays it just straight down. over and over, eighth notes. The "next level guitar" instruction thing is a bit easier to understand. He goes over everything. I got it in about an hour sooo... yep. It's in the related pannel off to the side. :) First one, I beleive!
