Really, so you believe these atheist dictators killed millions of religious people just for the heck of it? or because they were atheist, they get a free pass? Very interesting logic. This is called a dual standard.
10th October, 1941, midday • "Christianity is a rebellion against natural law, a protest against nature. Taken to its logical extreme, Christianity would mean the systematic cultivation of the human failure.

Stalins purges? Very interesting. People who are against gay marriage is an atrocity, but the slaughter of millions of religious humans, is what you call a purge, What a convenient use of language. No dual standards here boss. ps. Evil is a religious concept.
@benthemiester 1. Purge here is what STALIN thought it was. Not what I think it is, his acts were despicable. I thought you understood that.
They do kill people, or would like to. Look at the Westburo Baptist church.
Because they were religious, that does not mean they were killed BECAUSE they were religious.
Evil IS a religious concept, true. I don't agree with the concept as it appears in religion, as some cosmic force. I believe that ACTS can be evil, and people who do those acts can be evil
@AboyNAmEDsued To believe evil exist objectively, makes no sense from a position of naturalism.
Naturalism states that the duality of mind and body are illusory, & thought is nothing more than electrical stimuli & the firing of neurons in the brain. The belief is that all thought only exist subjectively, & that good and evil are just man made concepts. In true naturalism, the chemical reactions that take place when a person is thinking is no more relevant than when a person is taking a dump.
@benthemiester It's NOT a double standard. I don't give them a free pass for them being atheists. I called them EVIL MEN. They each had their own motives that don't even consider atheism.

Like I said before, go visit a state that officially endorses state atheism. There are still a handfull today that still exist today, & tell us how much freedom u have there.
@benthemiester Yes, they were religious, but they were not killed because of it. I have given you other motives that would drive these men to kill them, nothing to DO WITH religion.
That endorses state atheism? Like a state that doesn't endorse christianity? Try the US. Try France. Try Sweeden. Those are bad countries? I don't think so.
@AboyNAmEDsued "Yes, they were religious, but they were not killed because of it. I have given you other motives that would drive these men to kill them, nothing to DO WITH religion"
So your saying his national campaign of persecution against religious people is a myth, or that historians just made it up? Please cite your evidence for this belief. If your right then you must set the record straight. Please give evidence that religious persecution was a myth. It is still happening today.
@benthemiester Please give YOUR evidence that the campaigns against religious people existed, and were fueled by atheism. Mao's one definitely did exist, but as I've already explained, he had motives other than atheism.
@AboyNAmEDsued cont.........harassed and executed religious leaders, flooded the schools and media with atheistic propaganda, and generally promoted 'scientific atheism' as the truth that society should accept.
Paul Froese. Forced Secularization in Soviet Russia: Why an Atheistic Monopoly Failed. Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion, Vol. 43, No. 1 (Mar., 2004), pp. 35-50
@benthemiester I read the wiki page on your article. It looks like something got started in Russia by a different person, and Stalin signed off on it, then the Germans invaded and Stalin disbanded it.
Now, lets look at why he would start an anti-religious campaign. Was it because he didn't believe in god? Or was it because the religious were the ones mainly standing against him?
@benthemiester, Why the atheistic monopoly failed? Actually, Lenin declared open season on the Russian Orthodox church (RO) because they drew first blood after he told them to stop murdering Jews. Russian Buddhists, Muslims and Jews were left unmolested as long as they were good Bolsheviks. Indeed, the Jews prospered in Leninist and Stalinist Russia, which must have really chapped the ass of Hitler and the new pope. Stalin even brought back the RO after separating church and state.
Mao believed that socialism would create a better life for the Chinese. His failures were attempts to make China strong enough to defend the country against foreign meddling and invasions. He failed, but Deng Xiaoping didn’t. What happened in Tiananmen Square in 1989—where a few hundred demonstrators were killed—was nothing compared to what China suffered starting with the First Opium War.
@AboyNAmEDsued I'm not sure what Tiananman Square had to do with Mao who had already been dead for a long time before that happened. I am speaking of the religious persecution of his Chinese country men during the 30s and 40's. I am also not sure what Opium has to do with the subject being discussed.
@benthemiester "The most vulnerable section of China's population, around five per cent, were those whom Mao called 'enemies of the people'. Anyone who had in previous campaigns of repression been labeled a 'black element' was given the lowest priority in the allocation of food. Landlords, rich peasants, former members of the nationalist regime, religious leaders, rightists, counter-revolutionaries and the families of such individuals died in the greatest numbers."[58] from Wiki
@benthemiester He did not prosecute purely religious people, he prosecuted a LOT of people. And while what he did was evil, his motive was not to prosecute only the religious! His campaign was not started against the religious, they were just a part of it. And his motives did not even stem from atheism, as in he didn't go against them because he thought they were wrong. He went against them because he saw the corruption of the church and wanted it eradicated
@AboyNAmEDsued "Pol Pot had a vision of a communist, rural society. The atrocities committed were an effort to achieve those ends"
Pol Pot was also an atheist who believed a Godless society was a better society. I'm not sure why you are now resorting to name calling. I havent used that tactic since I was in the 7th grade.
@AboyNAmEDsued So because his persecution included everyone that makes it OK.? How do you know his motives didn't stem from atheism. You can still be a Christian and a Communist. So your saying its OK to slaughter millions because you think the church is corrupt? More interesting logic. Are you trying to rationalize or defend the actions of these evil men. So I guess by this logic. There are many people who aren't very religious and dont believe in gay marriage but yet religion is still blamed.
@benthemiester How do you know his motives DID stem from atheism? It was NOT ok, but it proves that atheism isn't the only possible motive. I really wish you would stop asserting that I'm defending their evil actions, because I'm not. I'm just trying to prove to you that their motives did not stem from atheism.
@AboyNAmEDsued Sure OK, & by that same token, I can say that the Crusaders were also evil men, & the slaughter of Muslims had nothing to do with Christianity, since their real motive was to steal and plunder Middle eastern wealth. You see, this same card can be played both ways. Hitler also used Christianity as a leverage tool, although he despised Christianity, and eventually wanted to destroy it. Apply that same thoughtful insight to all world views unselectively & maybe you'll be alright.
@benthemiester yeah, except the crusaders used christianity as their excuse to go on the crusades, and many of the knights and soldiers would not have gone if they didn't think it was a mission from god. Hitler outlawed the skeptics sociiety in Berlin and liberated the churches that were being closed by Stalin. He hardly seems like a christianity hater... If he started his campaign against the jews, and eventually wanted to also destroy christianity, who would fight for him?
@benthemiester Goodness knows germany wasn't atheistic... And lets say, for one second, that you're right. That these men preformed all of their atrocities in the name of atheism. What would that prove, exactly? That some insane men went too far? that some brilliant propaganda artists were misguided? Or that atheism is evil? It kind of seems pointless to argue when the third choice doesn't make sense as an answer...
@AboyNAmEDsued cont.... Denmark are members of the Danish National Church. Again the official state church. 79.2% of Norwegians were members of the state Church of Norway

@benthemiester said [[ You see, this same card can be played both ways. Hitler also used Christianity as a leverage tool, although he despised Christianity, and eventually wanted to destroy it. Apply that same thoughtful insight to all world views unselectively & maybe you'll be alright.]]
So, you're saying that Hitler's Catholicism, his hatred of Jews, and the Vatican's hateful position on Jews (officially charged with "Deicide") was just an astounding bewildering unexplainable coincidence?
@AboyNAmEDsued cont....millions of religious people in the killing fields of Asia. 100 million died during the secular non religious wars of the 20th century. It was the bloodiest century in all history, and it was not ruled by the church, but by secular doctrines and dogmas of men. Communism, Fascism, Imperialism, Capitalism & Nationalism. Millions of Christians were thrown once thrown to the lions already.
Stalin,Pot, Mao and other atheist societies killed millions
@benthemiester other atheist societies? They were atheists, but unless I remember m 9th grade history wrong, Italy, Russia, and Germany were heavily Christian... And China was mainly Confucist. Now, lets look at atheistic countries TODAy. France. Sweden. Japan. Denmark. Norway. South Korea. Finland. the Czech Republic. Do any of those sound like terrible countries to you?
@AboyNAmEDsued "They were atheists, but unless I remember m 9th grade history wrong"
This the problem. Your going to need more than a ninth grade history and education level to truly understand world history, and these many complex geo political & social societies that make up our world history. Im sorry but its the truth.
@AboyNAmEDsued " I read the wiki page on your article. It looks like something got started in Russia by a different person, and Stalin signed off on it, then the Germans invaded and Stalin disbanded it."
Im not sure what your reading, but Stalin destroyed Germany. Many historians admit that they were even more instrumental in defeating the Germans than the western European allies which were decimated by the Germans during the 2ndWW. As for statement above, I don't know what "it" means.
@AboyNAmEDsued Yea we saw how all that smartness helped him in the Ray Comfort talk. He could barley even look the guy in the eyes. This is called the cult of personalities. Hitchens and Dawkins have their minions, and to a lesser extent TFoot does also. All they have to garner support is their hatred for God. If they renounced atheism tomorrow, they would lose all there supporters and be called stupid. They would be marginalized the same way Anthony Flew.........
@benthemiester He was thinking, and I get the feeling he doesn't LIKE ray. If we're talking body language Ray was shifting nervously every tie science came up soo....
Also, we don't hate god. How can we hate something that we don't think exists? rethink that...
And the reason we follow them is that they have points relevant to out beliefs. If they stopped having those relevant points, we would stop following them. Duh! If a football player stopped playing football he'd lose a lot of fans, no?
Youtube seems to be a bad medium for creationist ideas. Their facts that are simply wrong can be checked, and the evolutionist is much less likely to be flustered.

Can you match that FFF Peace and love all.
Hahaha, I love your videos Thunderfoot. As a guy who has a more or less Christian spirituality and who loves science, I find your vids really inspiring. You take down the creationists while still treating the entire natural world as your personal playground. That's better than the young earth creationists seem to be able to do. Instead, boxing their supposedly omnipotent god into a doctrinal prison seems to be their speciality.

@AboyNAmEDsued cont.........harassed and executed religious leaders, flooded the schools and media with atheistic propaganda, and generally promoted 'scientific atheism' as the truth that society should accept.

AboyNAmEDsued 1 year ago
@benthemiester, Why the atheistic monopoly failed? Actually, Lenin declared open season on the Russian Orthodox church (RO) because they drew first blood after he told them to stop murdering Jews. Russian Buddhists, Muslims and Jews were left unmolested as long as they were good Bolsheviks. Indeed, the Jews prospered in Leninist and Stalinist Russia, which must have really chapped the ass of Hitler and the new pope. Stalin even brought back the RO after separating church and state.

@benthemiester
AboyNAmEDsued 1 year ago
@AboyNAmEDsued I'm not sure what Tiananman Square had to do with Mao who had already been dead for a long time before that happened. I am speaking of the religious persecution of his Chinese country men during the 30s and 40's. I am also not sure what Opium has to do with the subject being discussed.
benthemiester 1 year ago
@benthemiester "The most vulnerable section of China's population, around five per cent, were those whom Mao called 'enemies of the people'. Anyone who had in previous campaigns of repression been labeled a 'black element' was given the lowest priority in the allocation of food. Landlords, rich peasants, former members of the nationalist regime, religious leaders, rightists, counter-revolutionaries and the families of such individuals died in the greatest numbers."[58] from Wiki
AboyNAmEDsued 1 year ago
@benthemiester He did not prosecute purely religious people, he prosecuted a LOT of people. And while what he did was evil, his motive was not to prosecute only the religious! His campaign was not started against the religious, they were just a part of it. And his motives did not even stem from atheism, as in he didn't go against them because he thought they were wrong. He went against them because he saw the corruption of the church and wanted it eradicated
AboyNAmEDsued 1 year ago
@benthemiester Pol Pot had a vision of a communist, rural society. The atrocities committed were an effort to achieve those ends.

@AboyNAmEDsued "Pol Pot had a vision of a communist, rural society. The atrocities committed were an effort to achieve those ends"
Pol Pot was also an atheist who believed a Godless society was a better society. I'm not sure why you are now resorting to name calling. I havent used that tactic since I was in the 7th grade.
benthemiester 1 year ago
@benthemiester Please tell me where the hell you think you see his motives stemming from religion.
Again, sorry, I thought you said that the Nazis were right. You didn't put quotes around the songs.
AboyNAmEDsued 1 year ago
@AboyNAmEDsued So because his persecution included everyone that makes it OK.? How do you know his motives didn't stem from atheism. You can still be a Christian and a Communist. So your saying its OK to slaughter millions because you think the church is corrupt? More interesting logic. Are you trying to rationalize or defend the actions of these evil men. So I guess by this logic. There are many people who aren't very religious and dont believe in gay marriage but yet religion is still blamed.
benthemiester 1 year ago
@benthemiester How do you know his motives DID stem from atheism? It was NOT ok, but it proves that atheism isn't the only possible motive. I really wish you would stop asserting that I'm defending their evil actions, because I'm not. I'm just trying to prove to you that their motives did not stem from atheism.
AboyNAmEDsued 1 year ago
@AboyNAmEDsued Sure OK, & by that same token, I can say that the Crusaders were also evil men, & the slaughter of Muslims had nothing to do with Christianity, since their real motive was to steal and plunder Middle eastern wealth. You see, this same card can be played both ways. Hitler also used Christianity as a leverage tool, although he despised Christianity, and eventually wanted to destroy it. Apply that same thoughtful insight to all world views unselectively & maybe you'll be alright.
benthemiester 1 year ago
@benthemiester yeah, except the crusaders used christianity as their excuse to go on the crusades, and many of the knights and soldiers would not have gone if they didn't think it was a mission from god. Hitler outlawed the skeptics sociiety in Berlin and liberated the churches that were being closed by Stalin. He hardly seems like a christianity hater... If he started his campaign against the jews, and eventually wanted to also destroy christianity, who would fight for him?
AboyNAmEDsued 1 year ago
@benthemiester Goodness knows germany wasn't atheistic... And lets say, for one second, that you're right. That these men preformed all of their atrocities in the name of atheism. What would that prove, exactly? That some insane men went too far? that some brilliant propaganda artists were misguided? Or that atheism is evil? It kind of seems pointless to argue when the third choice doesn't make sense as an answer...

Millions of Christians were thrown once thrown to the lions already.

You take down the creationists while still treating the entire natural world as your personal playground. That's better than the young earth creationists seem to be able to do. Instead, boxing their supposedly omnipotent god into a doctrinal prison seems to be their speciality.
