  • @Cockroach2008, while I respect your opinions, I believe that steam locomotives like this one have much greater value historically than the financial sum of its component parts melted down for scrap. Trains and railroads were an integral part of what helped the United States expand, and even today, trains carry more passengers and freight than cars or trucks. Also, because this locomotive is in a national park, I think trying to junk it would be defacement of government property.

  • steamlocomotive(dot)com/bigboy/

  • Cockroach2008 we meet again and you still don't answer my questions! Don't worry everyone cockroach is about 12 and has just started getting interested in men. Why would he even look at these vids? Answer: he likes trains. Hey cock face scrap ya mum for me Lol!!!

  • man i had nooooooo idea just how big these train are i ( we took my little guy to steam town i thought we were there for like 20 mins ? lol it was 4 hrs ,,, wow that whole experence was amasing ..

  • Cockroach2008 if you must insist getting rid of the monuments to industry and progress that we here love, go chop down the Eiffel Tower or the Statue of liberty and scrap those as well (sarcasm) those are made of metal too.

And just a side note, I've got nothing against scrap dealers. I'm sure you're quite intelligent and I'm glad your business is doing well! Just be a little more kind hearted to the old steamers!

  • It would be nice for Steamtown to get it running again. A big problem unfortunatly is that the curves in that reigion are to tight for the Big Boy to handle.

  • What a magnificent machine! It is so sad to see it fall into such bad shape but atleast it hasn't been melted down and turned into a damn prius. I would love to see someone or some group take on the task to bring her back to a life on the rails again.

  • @fyrefyter101 Estimate cost is around 3 million to 7 million..so unless one of us happens to win the lottery then it may not happen.

  • I want to see how heavy of a freight train one of these and an AC6000CW can pull together.

  • Not only am I completely insane when it comes to trains and railroads (and that's a fact I will freely admit to), and not only have I been to Steamtown twice and seen this magnificent locomotive, and not only do I have a Georgia marble figurine of this engine and a pin with its number on it, the computer on which I'm typing right now has a picture of #4012 as its desktop wallpaper.

  • Went to Steamtown for the first time this summer. Good to see the Big Boy with a fresh paint job all cleaned up!

  • DANG...that is one big-ass steam engine.

  • @quad1000, indeed. I remember reading somewhere that the Big Boys each measured about 132 feet long, 16 feet high, 11 feet wide, and weighed one-and-a-quarter million pounds. They weren't kidding when they called these magnificent locomotives giants!!

  • Ive seen that one. Epic thing of beuty that is.

  • They did a great paint & body restoration on a Big Boy in Omaha. - Put this title in the search box -> Big Boy Locomotive Kenefick Park Omaha

  • Actually there are eight remaining, hence the title "one of eight still left".

  • @Marjon1254 If she free-rolls easy enough with the cylinders disconnected, then they must keep her in pretty good shape. Half the battle is won, and it would be worth all the work and problems to see the moment that this giant is steamed up again. Been dreaming of that day for a long time.....I'd like to know who else is with me on this!!!!!

  • I thought there were only 4 of these engines left. Anyways they should move this one indoors. If they leave it out exposed to the weather, soon there won't be anything left of it but a pile of rust!

  • @starguard RIGHT ON !! Figures that the One "Big Boy" that is in the worst condition of the 8...is the only one sitting on a Fed. Gov't. "managed" facility !!....are you surprised ?? I'm not. This one sat for a number of years up in Bellows Falls, VT....along with a good portion of the rest of the (now) deteriorating rolling stock

and motive power @ Scranton. Yes... there are 8 of these left...including the 4012, at Scranton, in the video, here.

  • Anyone answering this Cockroach tool's posts has failed to grasp the basic concept of a troll. Dont feed it.If you are a highly skilled hacker by all means find it and deal with it . Otherwise ignore it.

  • It's Sad really. These great Locomotives who worked so hard. Now they just sit out rusting. The least they could do is get them inside and out of the rain. As a small scale live steam Engineer, I believe every steam locomotive deserves to be run for as long as the remain in existence.

  • I wonder why thay dont run ? iknow it cost but the trains did so much for so many people !

  • @dearbornerik The Big Boys (UP #4012 as you see here) will never run again...Not that they couldn't be rebuilt, as much as there would be No place to run them any more....and the only place these did run...was on

the Harriman Division, out of Cheyenne, WY...there are only TWO turntables left to turn these behemoths on..one @ Cheyenne & one @ Green River, WY. The 3985 (Challenger Class 4-6-6-4) is running out of there, with the 844(Northern Class 4-8-4).

  • Cockroach you should relize you are alone in your desire, steam is making a comeback, and people are waking up to the fact that if we destroy our history then there will be nothing left for us to remember where we came from and those who loose their roots have no future.

and If I ever find you around the 765 I will slap you around personaly, now go get stomped you Cockroach and learn respect for history.

  • @manga12 If I see him around any steam engines, I will punch him clean in the face and knock him out. I've had enough of this jack*** who needs to leave us alone.

  • You got that right, not only is he irritating to have to put up with but he talks of underground scrap parts stealing, crooked as they come.

  • @manga12 He ain't just irritating, he's downright rude. He ruins any video he can find with his comments. How good do they keep the bearings serviced on this one? Bc if all the side rods are intact, including the valve gear, it's already half the battle to restore it. I'd love to see the day this giant moves under its own power. Heck, I'll work on it myself if thats what they want in return! I hope they realize that restoring this one to running order would drive up visitor counts at the gate.

  • I just dont think that will happen fireheart, I would love to see one pull the mainline too, but they just cost too much to fuel the beast, it would take a lot of money just to get it restored and the fact it is ouside only compounds the amount of rust, they had trouble getting the 765 going in 1977 after 20 years of disservice in the park.

  • @manga12 I know, I hate to think that they won't ever run again. I believe it when you said how long it took to restore 765. I guess the best thing to do if one were to get involved in this kind of project is to restore a diesel rather than a steam engine. At least a diesel could keep up with mainline trains, though i did see a few steam engines for sale and still see them every now and then. Even seen a 100% original NYC velocipede for sale on Ozark Mountain Railcar's webpage.

  • ok whoow back the train up lol, um the 765 only took about 7 years to get restored, and about six to rebuild when her boiler was due to be rebuilt, it sat in a park in fort wayne for 20 years, second go for steam there are fewer of them around and need restorations more then diesles the 765 is a mainliner, so could amost any late steam period locos be if the tlc was there to rebuild them and spend the money to do it.

  • @manga12 Are there any more Berkshires left? I think there's a Canadian National U2-g on static display at Stettler, Alberta. If I remember right, it's maintained by the Rocky Mountain Historical Society. And don't worry, I like steam engines more than diesels, just some of the early units like the old SD9 or something like that is what I was saying.

  • one that exists is 775 765's sister engine the only two I belive that used a johnson bar for the throttle by the way, they have talked on and on about restoring her but nothing is been done yet.

  • Comment removed

  • @manga12 Were you wondering about NKP 757?

  • to your post well I will let someone know and try to spread the word, but do you live even near the elkheart area and will they agree to such things, that is the first thing to tackle, running a mainline loco though takes thousands of man hours a month to keep it running well and repaired, its a labor of love to say the least and the skills are getting fewer and fewer as the old generation that knew how to run them passes away or is no longer able to get out to help.

  • @manga12 Well, I live in southeastern GA, but i'd told them even if i couldn't be there all the time for the moment that I'd arrange to get out there anytime I could fit it in my current schedule. I have bigger plans anyway, and that's to rebuild the 3005 from the ground up using the specs from 3001.

  • well if its something they already agreed on with you to give consideration, then thats one step, but know that this will take a really long time to get done. I hope you can handle it, rebuilding a loco is not easy.

  • Dude, my high school friends called me crazy bc I knew so much about trains. It's not just a hobby for me, it's a passion. And I do know it will take quite a long time too, probly 8 years in all. There's two big obstacles I see right now: 1. Getting permission to use an old switch point to run into a shed so the engine will stay dry and out of the weather. 2. How to transport the frame down into the shed. I'll have the frame professionally made bc I'm not taking any chances with that part.

  • Fire I tell you what there is another young guy I know on youtube from my area that tends the fire when they have excursion runs in the 765 his name is troy kleeman, hes about 20 years old or so, just out of highschool or so, he has a passion for steamers he can tell you all about steamers, and put you in touch with people that work with them for help with your idea to get the elkhart loco going again, talk to them at the 765s home many of the members are on youtube.

    signed Jeremy manga12

  • @manga12 Thanks, Jeremy. I think one of my emails addresses is on my channel, but my main one is ravensword3985@yahoo.com. The number was chosen to represent UP 3985. And most everything on the planned rebuild on 3005 will be made in a forge on my property. Even Ms. Hume from the NYCRR Museum said that was the logical thing to do. And I've actaully decided to move to Elkhart. I'll check the 765s site as well. I've heard that one is ready for just about any route in the USA now.

  • I see well good luck.

  • @manga12 The Norfolk Southern Railway has a yard in town, as does CSX, and both run into Savannah, if i remember correctly. I'd have to locate an old switch and have track laid from that to a big shed to do the rebuild in, so that particular part would focus more on the guys around here that knew how to work on these engines. But even if it's a big challenge, no challenge is completely unattainable.

  • i see the one going into omaha on i-80, if someone could explain how in the flyin sam-hell they got it there on the side of the hill. impressive stuff

  • @devja71 if you look on google earth (with historicle imagery) you notice that there was a big boy and that other train in the UP yard. they got heavy lifters and placed it on a flat bed and they moved it.

  • There's one at theAge of Steam Museum at the State Fair Grounds in Dallas, Tx. If you ask nicely, they'll let you get in them.

  • @MrT8T3R that big boy is in my backyard (figurativly speaking) and its anything BUT good looking

  • I live around this area and I just saw her, she just got repainted!!!!

  • a work of art

  • I would like to see all of those steam engines running and the big boys also.

  • Big Boy is the husband, the Challenger is the wife! They're seperated. :,(

I want the Big Boy back!!!

  • i wish someone could restore some of the big boys to working order like the did with the challenger 3985.

  • y not restore i know its huge but cmon

  • they should restore all of them to working order and put them back to use. these things are amazing and everyone loves them.

  • whether sad looking, isn't it?

  • Why are the cylinders disconnected from the wheels?

  • @fudgebaker

So she will free-roll more easily when they have to move her.

  • @Marjon1254 actually the story behide her rods being disconnected is that when her fire was last dropped, she was moved under diesle power to some unknown location (not steam town it was some were in whyomming) and while out on the main line her pistones became stuck, in order to clear the tracks UP hade the rods cut to let the wheels move agine. they just never reconnected them to the pistones

  • you know, if they were able to bring back the milwaukee road 261, then they could bring back a bigboy. im glad to say that as a minnesotan, the milwaukee road is a minnesotan train that runs the country carrying passengers. ive seen it leave st. paul. it was huge. lol. but to bring back a "bigboy" would like nothing could ever beat that.

  • i hope they do use one of teh eight still there, and it would be great if NS did that

  • yep saw this one last year

  • God she looks terrible!!!

  • @tinman3804 She's been repainted :-)

  • @twstrchk

Glad to hear it! She needed it. When was it done, do you know?

  • @Marjon1254 I believe it was last fall - she's scheduled to go through Asbestos Abatement next - which I dont understand since she'll never be running again - so when would the asbestos be a threat? (unless someone tried to blow her up) From one article I read, one of the problems with running her again would be the curve radius necessary - she's so danged long......cant handle the tighter curves.

  • @twstrchk

My wife, bless her heart, was totally distressed after seeing the Big Boy sitting there, exposed to the weather, without even a roof over her. She is now over-joyed to hear they have at last painted her! If there is anyone out there planning to go see this Big Boy in the near future, please do a video and post it on YouTube.

  • @Marjon1254 We live fairly close to Steamtown - will make a point of getting a nice video to post - stay tuned!

  • i wish they could fix it up and run it... they would make a killing with the the tickets for people to ride it!

  • @iAirsoft69 The question is, would she be able to pay for her self? Running one of these would not be cheap. If there was away for her to run again, she would probably need to be purchased by a much larger railroad and run on the mainline. Steamtown is just to small to run this beauty, she needs to be able to properly stretch her wheels. It isn't likely, but if NS ever restarted their steam program...... It would be amazing for her to do a double header with 1218!

  • @tropicalfishswim Union pacific could buy it back and run it like they do the challenger, but is NS thinking about that?

  • @iAirsoft69 Union Pacific probaly would not buy it, as they have a few big boys closer to home. As for NS, they will most likely restart their steam program again eventually. There is no evidence that this engine could join 611 and 1218, but why not? It is in reasonably good condition, and would probably be very economical. They are not actually thinking about using 4012 at all, I just think it would be a good idea. Please don't quote me, I am only guessing and hoping.

  • man ive seen this like 5 times up at stematown. I never really got why steamtown in scranton PA when they're UP

  • wtf they still run look them up lol

  • is there any place in the country that a Big Boy could run

  • Could use a good restoration and paint job thats for sure, but it's great to see there are a few around!!!!

  • Ive seen it up close and the wheels were taller than me

  • THE BIGGEST STEAM LOCO OF THEM ALL

    THE BIG BOY!

    I'd love to see it

  • bellissima locomotiva big boy un capolavoro della industria ferroviaria americana ciao italia

  • Years ago when they first put the one on display in Cheyenne, Wyoming, I got to climb into the cab with my Dad. He worked for NYC and when the Big Boys came through Dewitt on the way from Schenectady to UP territory, he had to run checks on them. He took me into the cab and ran through all the cab parts and then we did a walk-around. Wish I had filmed that day - he was VERY fond of the Big Boys even though they weren't NYC!!

  • Thank You for the great comment and for sharing the wonderful memory you have. I would love to see one of these "Boys" come alive today!

  • Is this the Big Boy at Steam Town USA in Scranton PA? They have a Big Boy there you know and I was fortunate to get up close to it. Man it's a beast! I'd love to see one of these puppies huffing and puffing with a full head of steam.

  • Yes! She be in Steamtown PA.

She not be a "beast" though!

Her beauty had made the day.

If only her whistle she could blow!

  • She's not in bad condition (considering all the years she has been out side) and it wouldn't take to much effort to restore her but there's just no room!

  • I have climbed on that very loco myself. You've gotta love those Big Boys. I only wish they would put a roof over its head...

  • everyone ignore Cockroach2008, he's just one of those wack out enviormentalist that are so green that they want everything to be green. Al Gore would have a heart attack for seeing a big boy run. Preserve our heritage!

  • Great idea! Let's all send Al a picture of a Big Boy under steam! Oh! Sorry! That's wasn't very nice of me!

  • LOL

  • one is still running out west at union pacific it is in a museum but still has the capibality to run nice video too

  • Sorry! You are wrong! The locomotive you reference is a 4-6-6-4 Challenger, not a 4-8-8-4 Big Boy!

  • But there is still a big boy at union pacifics musem that is capibal to run to it is just always inside every part is fine thou

  • Well Trainguy, you seem to know more than Union Pacific knows about their museum! Actually, there are no real locomotives within miles of that museum! Several years ago Hollywood throght about making a movie about the Big Boy. A team of experts investigated if it would be possible to get one running and it would have involved obtaining various parts from the remaining eight "bodies" spread across the country. The estimate came in at 2 million dollars and the project was scrapped.

  • strange, they spend about 24 million or more on a Transformers movie but they cant shell out 2.2 million for a Big Boy, thats a drop in the bucket for them, sounds very odd to me >.>

  • @45x45bw do you think steam town has 24 million or atleast 2.2 million? and btw i think it got a new paint job...

  • @45x45bw you know what, your absolutely right!

  • it is sad to see this beast of a train set and not be used, as every year goes on they fall into more and more dis repair.

  • agein, im not mad, im not crussing, im not yelling, im just cerous. (Oops sarey for takeing up a whole page. it was an axident).

  • you say restoring a steam train is worthes less. why? restoring a steam train means 1 more train pulling passingers, or goods to help the ecomamey. you say you need to pay the people that help you restor a steam train, thats not compleaty true, people called volinters help you restor the train for free! just becaus thay want to. thats how thay restored SP 4294. why would thay sell this train for scrap? this video to 2 or 3 years old! thay probley fixed it up by now.

  • (i allmost fergot agean) if you make so mush money scraping things why would you need to sell the small things like, shovels, gages bells, houns, wisselts, ECT. and why havent you scraped the puffing billy? im not mad just cureious.

  • (i allmost fergot) and the queen marey?

  • im not yeling at you, im not crussing at you but ive seen some of the videos you've comment'ed on and i just want to ask why scrap the steam train?

  • becaus steam trains make all sorts of sounds, liveing things make lots of sounds. a railfan is some how likes trains of all types, not to disorey them but to apreachate them and enjoy them. so i'll ask agean why do you want to disorey /resicle/ kill/ scrap these marvils? P.S i met a man how used to drive cab forwards. if you hate ALL steam trains why dident you scrap SP 4294, SP 4449, UP 844, and UP 3985 and others when you hade the chanes?

  • want to keep people from seeing thes big things? it's not that the trake cant holed these (these were on the traks olny 30-50 years ago) it's the rail ways have N.O.M.R (not on my railway). steam trains are better for the planet, thay put out smoke and steam, smoke is bad, but steam truns into clouds and that makes rain and that is good. britan stills runs steam trains (not as much as it used to but steam still lives in britan) in cace you'r wondering why people say steam trains are alive it's--

  • and what made you want to scrap steam lockos the tenders and the caboses? if thay are just sitting in a sideing, or in a musieam, that arnt bothering eneone. 1 time in georgia whene i was veary yong, i saw a steam train. (i think) it was a 2-8-4 it was red and rusty thar was soad cans in the tender, the throldel was chaned stuck, the fire box was stuck shut, and all the gages were gone but the train was huge the weels were bigger then me. it was a good memeroy....... why would you----

  • (i bet you want that gone becaus that's allmost all steel) the space neddle, the coliseam, SP 4294, all the big boys, big ben, the sphinxs, the pearamids, the grate wall of china, the S.S. normidic (the last white star line ship afloate) the sears/willes tower, (it was renamed) the titanic, the britannic the edmand fitz gearld, the jon handcock center, thomas and frends (lol) bye planes, tri planes the flying scotsman the malled, the deckloraction of independs, the lusatiania, ECT

  • why do you hate steam trains? if all the steam trains in the worald were scraped, and the olny thing left of them were books we woudent be able to hear the wistel, the steam hissing, the chug chug choo choo sound of the steam trains, we woudent be able to see how big thay were, we woudent be able to feel the steal of the train. so why? why do you want all things old gone? the empier state buillbing, the christler buillbing, the monalessa, the eyfil tower------

  • It must have been amazing to be a fireman on that engine.

  • Everyone who sees Cockroach2008's Posts Mark them as spam and give them a thumbs down.

  • Why do you think everyone is going to give you there old trains? your like oh ill take it such and such but really its not your call. i would say the cost of haulding away a train to a junkyard would be more than what its worth. just shut the fuck up no one gives a shit about what you say. and if they were going to junk these trains (wich they wont) you wouldent be getting the money. the companies that own them would.

  • Bankrupt non-profit groups sell of the assets. The locomotive is the last to go. Their is enough Callie in the scrap to haul it away, cut it apart & send it to the foundry for melt.

People who need cash desperately can earn it without questions asked. Selling the parts they acquire with no questions asked. Bells, whistles, gauges, headlights, marker lights, number boards, controls, linkage, valves, builders plates will all sell quickly. Midnight supply.

    Junk the steam locomotives!

  • ok and this is at steam town, my great grandfather was a steam enginee on the CP. i think this is great. I have some friends with some real financial power and i'm sure they would love to contribute

  • dude chase i was serious about donating in an earlier comment. how would i go about being a part of your restoration programs?

  • I don't care who I was speaking to. Go ahead, spend your money on this foolishness. At least the railroads had the good sense to abandon this garbage! I see you may be lacking in wisdom & choose to perpetuate this foolishness.

You are nearly alone in this preservation foolishness. Keep spending your earnings on preserving this idiocy. Is your family hungry at night?

I successfully persuaded the local city council to deny funds to one of these groups.

    Yep, bankruptcy! Then, scrapped!

    Happy!

  • Mr. Cockroach has inspired me to donate money to your organization, how would i go about doing this??? And COCKroach can shove it!!!

  • @Cockroach2008 when will you stop posting this shit when you know that these locomotives will NOT be scrapped?!?

  • @dust478 YouTube encourages me to, "Post Comment". That is what I do!

There are people out there who need CASH in a very desperate way. They are about to loose their job, home or family. Or maybe even a combination of those things.

Let them know parts from steam locomotives can be SOLD FOR CASH with NO QUESTIONS ASKED! By letting them know, they can maybe save their own livelihoods & destroy the steam locomotive to a point where they will be scrapped!

    You fix'em, they get'em! Junk'em! Cut'em!

  • @Cockroach2008 Kid, can you please do everyone a favor. Get your SORRY, ARROGANT ASS OFF YOUTUBE AND ACTUALLY MAKE SOMETHING OF YOURSELF OTHER THAN SOME ANNOYING TROLL.

  • @LNERMallard Thank you for the suggestion. I have given this careful & deliberate consideration. However, after thinking seriously about your suggestion overnight, I have decided it is not the proper timing for me to leave. There are many who feel as I & are needing CASH! The remaining steam locomotives provide a good source of parts to be QUICKLY REMOVED & SOLD FOR CASH! All of this, with NO QUESTIONS ASKED!

Just think of it as the steam locomotive as making the ultimate sacrifice for people!

  • @Cockroach2008 Okay, dude. I'm going to ask you a question that has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do about trains, railroads, steam locomotives, scrap metal, or ANYTHING. I just want an answer. Q: Did YOU drop my sister off at our doorstep as a baby on January 31st, 2001?!

  • @LNERMallard That was so long ago, I barely remember.

However, it does bring a very vague memory to mind that I did drop off something at someone's door one night. I many have been assisting a buddy with a problem. Seems like the fire station had received their quota of abandon babies that evening.

I wish I had an absolute answer for you, but I just cannot accurately remember!

  • @Cockroach2008 It wasn't a suggestion, it was an order, now do it!

  • @Paraffinmeister I am sorry, looser!

I just checked my chain of command & your name does not appear any where upon the list.

Until you are installed as one of my commanders, "I am here to stay!"

    Otherwise, "Tough up, sonny!"

  • @Cockroach2008 I don't care about your chain of command, shut up now.

  • @Paraffinmeister Whether you care or not, is not my concern! The parts of the steam locomotives are highly valued for their collectible & salable value! They are going to end up stripped & junked!

The world economy is putting more pressure upon people who need the cash!

So good! It will be a great day when these things roll into the scrap yard for cutting up. It won't be long!

  • @Cockroach2008 lol, keep kidding yourself, you're only setting yourself up for a big dissapointment when it never happens.=P

  • @Paraffinmeister There is no kidding going on! It is going to happen. You are the one who is going to be disappointed!

  • @Cockroach2008 I'll believe it when I see hard evidence.=P

  • @Paraffinmeister Keep watching! I have information it is going to happen! Soon!

    Then you will believe!

  • @Cockroach2008 Yet another empty promise.=P

  • @Paraffinmeister Won't be when it happens!=P

  • @Cockroach2008 people, with all due respect, please continue your discussion someplace else... I know that this is a public forum, but this has gone way too far... we all have our differences and variyng opinions, but please, no need to make a circus out of it...

  • @bluesguitardude Thank you for your thoughtful insight! I sincerely appreciate it. This sounds like a simple request. I believe I can abide provided those who respond directly to me have a method to voice their differing opinions & do not directly respond. I am only submitting my comment as YouTube invites. Those who respond directly to me, warrant a direct response from me.

It should be well known, that I would delight to see the steam locomotives cut apart & sent to the foundry for melting.

  • @Cockroach2008 even though i don't agree with your opinion, it's still your opinion... Respect...

  • @bluesguitardude Agreed! It is respect. I appreciate your difference of opinion with mine.

It is what makes the world go around!

  • @Paraffinmeister people, with all due respect, please continue your discussion someplace else... I know that this is a public forum, but this has gone way too far... we all have our differences and variyng opinions, but please, no need to make a circus out of it...

  • @Cockroach2008 Hey kid, we don't want you here. How about you take your sorry little arrogant ass of of youtube, and go out and FIND A JOB!!!! Make something of yourself instead of wasting your life being an asshole with this 'black market scrap parts' garbage. We don't need your shit-faced comments, we don't even want you around. Oh, wait, you're only a teenager still living at home with your parents, not going to college and just wasting your life, which explains why you are being so stupid.

  • @Fireheart528 Whether you want me here or not, I am here to stay! I have a great job! I own & operate a scrap metal yard! I am not wasting my time, I am doing the world a "GREAT" service! Whether you need my comments or not, I am going to continue to make them, whatever kind of comments you like.

I have been out of my parents home for many years. Thank you for your concern!

What you think of my intelligence is none of my business. But, thank you for letting me know. I sincerely appreciate it!

  • @Cockroach2008 You wont make them all the time because people can have you removed and revoked please stop k thanks

  • @Chevy70Truck I make enough to inflict some real damage! After all, it is just a matter of time! People are getting to them & the parts are sold on the black market for souvenir collectors!

All of them cannot be protected. It is just too big a target!

Thank you for asking, but I must respectfully decline! I am here to stay!

  • @Cockroach2008 Fine then sell me a part if you have a real buisness, better yet since you get the trains i wont one, the whole thing and id pay you for it.

  • @Chevy70Truck want not wont

  • @Chevy70Truck Those were cut up 10 & 6 years ago! Long been melted and poured into the form of manhole covers & fire hydrants!

  • @Cockroach2008 why do you hate steam engines so bad one up bigboy can do the work of many diesels whats wrong mommy never got you a steam engine train set for chistmas

  • @jcxstargazer I know about the power of a steam locomotive. I also know about the particulate pollution & soot they produce. Just too messy for the 22nd Century! They got to go. I am the man to do it & get my crews paid, nicely I might add!

Junk all the remaining steam locomotives!

  • @Cockroach2008 and other trains dont make pollution? idk about you but id rather only one steam engine polluting rather than 5 diesels witch put out just as much pollution

    as steam engines

  • @jcxstargazer Your right, steam engines make less pollution plus they can run off of a variety of substances. Cockroach just trolls on videos of steam. Someone should report him because then he wont be here to stay. :)

  • @Cockroach2008 22nd Century? Proof (not that we need any more) that you really are as thick as pig shit! LOL!!!=P

  • @Cockroach2008 Those particles have a hard time staying in the atmosphere as they serve as condensation nuclei for raindrops. The raindrops will wash the particles out of the air.

  • @Jemalacane It doesn't matter that they don't stay up. They should never have gone up in the first place. Ending the steam locomotive into a puddle of molten metal sounds like the very best alternative to me!

Junk all the remaining steam locomotives!

  • @Cockroach2008 Were not in the 22nd century dipshit were in the 21st! People do appreciate them and always will! Im 18 and I wanna work for Norfolk Southern as a Merger Aquisition Lawyer after I graduate college. I never grew up with these wonderful pieces of American History but I respect them more than what anyone could ever respect you.

  • The army of failing finance for non-profit preservation groups. The army of people who want to shelter, feed & provide for their families by scrapping metal. You steam locomotive is headed for the junkyard.

At least the desperately poor can get some quick cash by removing parts & assemblies for a quick cash sale; noquestions asked.

Whistles, bells, gauges, number boards, headlights are a good start.

Junk the steam locomotives, tenders & cabooses.

  • Wrong you are! I live just well. Cutting up junk is my occupation & looking for more.

We know where this is & the financial status of this failing enterprise.

When it is bankrupt, the assets are ours & the cutting up of this junk iron will commence.

    It won't be much longer.

  • Mr, Cockroach, you picked a suitable screen name. You quite possibly could be the only person on plannet earth who does not have a respect for beautiful pieces of history such as this one. I'm sure a steam engineer kicked your ass one day and thats why you hold a grudge

  • Beautiful pieces of history?

    What are you talking about?

These are clunkers which should be scrapped, junked, cut apart & sent to the foundry for melt.

What ever drugs you are on, you should seek treatment!

No body ever fought with me.

This thing is a clunker for scrapping!

    Junk the steam locomotive!

  • I see what you are doing. you just registered to you tube to piss people off. i mean look at your profile? no favorites. no uploads. due to this you cant get banned or flagged because you have no videos.

But there is still a way to get an account suspended and if the people look at your account and your comments you will get your account suspended.

  • I honestly want all the remaining steam locomotives junked, scrapped, cut apart & melted into new products. If some people think differently & it angers them that I feel this way, that is their problem.

I never said I intentionally angered people.

Try to get my YouTube account closed or suspended. You will fail like all the others.

Just because you don't like my mission, you cannot silence me.

Junk the steam locomotives, tenders & cabooses.

  • Your Mission is to destroy the past of our country? that's as good as treason. all you care about is the money. i bet if you could get a lot of money for selling one of your family you would do it.

  • The past of our country is well documented between the pages of history books.

Preserving a steam locomotive is a foolish exercise. It is just metal. Metal that has been used for the purpose it was designed for.

Now it is time to use that metal for something more 21st century. Like rockets & space stations.

Junk the remaining steam locomotives, tenders & cabooses.

  • ok well if you know so much you know that paper dose not last forever. text fades away. if these steam engines were in service today they would be way faster than the trains we currently use. i did some searching and High ballin (extrememly fast speed) is like 50 miles per hour on todays trains. High ballin on them older trains was like 70 or 80 MPH

  • Nothing lasts for ever.

Fact: Steam locomotives are NOT in widespread service an longer.

Fact: Steam locomotives will NOT be returned to widespread service ever again.

Fact: Today's trains can easily exceed those speeds in less distance.

Fact: Speeds were reduced because of the urban & rural buildup around the trackways. (Not because of equipment performance.)

Fact: Steam locomotives are materials which can be used to make new products. (Recycling!)

Junk the steam locomotives & tenders!

  • my bad didnt mean to give that a thumbs down.

  • hey man i took lunch money from people like you in high school....YOU SUCK

  • People like me? Are you sure about that?

No one ever took my lunch money! You must be mistaken!

Junk the steam locomotive, tenders & cabooses!

  • Because, Yankee railroads know a money loosing, hole in the ground, junker when they see it!

Junk the steam locomotives, tenders & cabooses.
