If you have problems with tempo, let me suggest these ideas:
First, practice playing with a click track, and keep practicing until you can play the piece in perfect time with the clicks. Record your attempts, and listen VERY carefully for errors.
After this is done, you can work on feel. Feel is simply SLIGHTLY modifying the tempo and/or timing of notes to create the right atmosphere. Try to make your playing cast an auditory image in the room that conveys the right feelings.

Your taste in music is impeccable, but I'm afraid that this does not flow well. Tempo, feel, and mood are unsteady.

I made this a long time ago.
It may take a lifetime for me to figure out how to deal with tempo. :'-(
