  • How did you manage to get the cab ride

  • @lcd815 Read my profile

  • Interesting seeing newer headspan OHLE next to older lattice/portal type structures around Wembley Yard. Quite a mixture of overhead designs here.

  • @pburr1973 Thats what you get with partial modernisation, some of the OHLE masts are still the original 1960's style.

  • Nice vid. that pigeon almost copt it at 10:44

  • @imautuber444 The pidgeon must have been going extremely slow for that to happen.

  • already nearly 100 vids, good trip.

  • Excellent filming

  • @sirhcsteam Thank you Chris, the camera was in the same position for all 3 vids

  • i envy you soooooooo much because that would be my dream job driving such magnificent high speed trains, 5* mate!

  • @zootee56 Thank you, a lot of kids out there still aspire to be train drivers, I was one once.

  • @englischlokfuehrer thats all i want to be! i love the fact of being in control of these magnificent trains, going high speeds and that lot! But the closest i can get to it is my rail simulator! I think if i were to become a train driver i would like to drive a pendolino or a class 170!

  • Very very nice.

  • @Bahnchef1994 Thank you Patrick for that.

  • Again a nice cab ride from you for a relaxed morning coffee. Thumbs up! :)

What was the job of the man on the little pedestal in the beginning of the Video?

  • @megatwingo He is the Yard supervisor and on this occasion his job was to oversee all departures from that end of the yard, all pointwork there is controlled from a small lever frame which he standing in front of.

  • @englischlokfuehrer

Wow, that is a real uncomfortable working place.

Couldn´t they have used one of the old signal houses for such a task? Or give him a little roof?

Aren´t in fact the signal houses made for this task?

  • @megatwingo He only had to be there to 'see' a couple out at a time, his other duties were to ensure each train had been correctly released from the maintainance staff and also to remove any train protection before we are allowed anywhere near them. So he would do train departures in groups, before going back to his other duties.

  • @englischlokfuehrer

Ah, I see. Thanks for those informations!

  • Thank you Sam for that.

  • great vid mate
