Chinese cities have many electric bikes, new property has solar water heating. coal burning slums are cleared, replaced by modern apartments. Clean steelworks are being built, Beitai has an enclosed coking plant & new blast furnaces under construction. Dust from unmade roads is not pleasant but not industrial pollution. Scavenging by the poor is a way of life, selling what they collect is income. Small mines are closed because of their appalling safety record, not because of pollution.

Due to news blackout, not even local residents know about it. Nuclear is the cleanest pollution of all. The problem will be gone when China becomes a developed country in a few decades. It's already the top investor in solar energy, so just give China some time. The USA however, doesn't have much of an excuse. It neither has the same staggering population nor is the factory of the world. Instead of all this anti-Chinese propaganda, the USA should instead focus on leading by example. This holier-than-though hypocritical stance is why America is disliked in many parts of the world.

You're comparing 2 countries with different systems.
China is a totalitarian state, so the government needs to be more responsible of taking care of the people. If they fail to become greener with all the power and resources, they are responsible.
The USA is a democracy, meaning that unlike China it needs more people to make a difference. The problem is that the senate largely consists of people who believe that environmental issues are BS.
