looooooooooooooooooooooool, Olly going down the stair's on his backside, it literally made cry with laughter..... my favourite double act, as always! they were and still are the best
Oh Man! "Brats" was always my favorite Laural and Hardy. My dad introduced me to them when I was a little kid. I remember laughing til my stomach hurt. Nothings changed. Timeless comedy! I think now I'm going to introduce them to my kids. Now where can I buy Laural and Hardy on DVD?
Watching Laurel and Hardy today is just as funny and joyful as it ever was. Utterly utterly timeless comedy from the greatest comedy double act bar none. Two geniuses of comedy, and two real gentlemen too!
it's kind of funny how you look at oliver hardy in the short brats from 1930 and then by the end of the decade in the movie the flying deuces, he's a blimp, but these guys are the greatest comedic duo until beavis and butthead
Thanks to YT we can all easily enjoy the genius of these guys. Why these aren't playing on TV all the time is beyond me. It's profoundly funnier than the crap they show now.
Kids will love this video just as much as adults. Their shorts and feature length films up to 1939 are as funny NOW as they were made. So many people grew up on these films, and they forget how absolutely great they were, but they can tell you their favorites. TCM now owns the rights and they run them often but not often enough. Laurel & Hardy could bring huge ratings on TV. There are so many generations who have not yet seen them. They don't know what they're missing!
In the 80's & 90's, I would rush home from school or college to watch these guys or Harold LLoyd on BBC2 at 5:30 pm. My father and I watched brats and we cried and could not stop. The scene has got to be the stairs. NOBODY falls like that. I am cracking up now just thinking about it.
'one good turn deserves another' is my favorite, and also 'helpmates' the ending must be one of the funniest things i ever saw stan leaving olivers burnt out house after trying to clean up after a messy party oliver throws while his dragon wife is due back early
has any one got the one where they are painting thier boat . laurel gets his head stuck behind the mast that hardy tied him too or was it handcuff him too while he went off to buy more paint. so he tries to saw the mast to free himself with scenes of him getting close to sawing his kneck off and demolationing the boat... hillarious. i need to see this agin. i need good side splitting laugh at the momment. someone's got to have this.
Stan and Ollie has never ever been surpassed as being the greatest comedy duo of all time. Loved them as a Kid and love them even more now - especially 'Sons of the desert', 'Towed in a hole' and 'Busy bodies'. Fantastic! Love you boys!
I was Brought up on Laurel and Hardy as a kid. Dad would take down a picture from the living room wall, set up the Super 8mm Projector, make popcorn, and we'd watch Laurel and Hardy. It was an event! Thanks Dad, They were the best and funniest. We still have a ton of these in super 8mm film.
Tell u what mate I'm the same cept it was just on the telly. I bought the full collection to share with my nephew and nieces. We've had 8 of us on one settee (like a lifeboat) laughing at them. Timeless & Priceless. Respect to your Dad.
please please have you got the one where they have gone down to paint olly's boat and stan causes ca-ouse. the scene where he saws the mast to release him self after being tied up by olly to keep him out of trouble while he goes to buy more paint. real gem.
@mwillis1000 Not very, 46, when I left the message. I grew up in the 60s and 70s as a kid. There were no VCR's until 1976-77 or DVD players. People used as their recording devices Super 8mm and standard 8, film camera's. We watched movies on a projector. People continued into the early 80s using these devices. I have a short reel of Star Wars. 400 ft reel of Alien and dad has the complete original King kong. This way, like a VCR, we could watch them when ever we wanted. hope this helps.

how do u get such a great video i alway have to record them on my phone nd upload them lol can anyone tell me how i can get a video like this uploaded plz ?
Even watching a silent clip of theirs from a sound film ("Brats") they are still hilarious. Of all my favorite classic film comedians (including the Three Stooges, the Marx Brothers, WC Fields, Buster Keaton et al), L & H are the two that, if their characters were real people, I would love to spend time with.
brilliant,my dad used to show the l&h shorts in the cinema,he had to stop the films every so often to allow the laughter to die down because no one could here anything!! :-O
and stan laurel is from my end of the woods south shields in England beliv it or not im 21 years old and think this stuff is the most funniest thing on a dvd box set my gran ma and mother brought me up on such things like this along with dads army which i still need to get on box set Jerry god bless the golden oldies .love em and weep is by far the funniest one of all by laurel and hardy just that bit wen the women turns on the radio and stan and oliver flip out oh man
This comment is for barson66. That is right Stan Laurel lived in North Shields, so he was at your end of the woods. By the way there is a statue of Stan Laurel in North Shields.
When I was a kid, I saved my paper route money and bought a super 8mm movie projector, and used to borrow Laurel & Hardy movies form the local library. I couldn't get enough of them! I still think they are the funniest comedy duo in movie history.
It's not weird it's true comedy, I don't even consider half the crap that comes out these days as true comedy. True Comedy is silly and fun, I mean just looking at these guys makes me laugh. The reason you don't consider it weird is because you're too modern.
Shinoman2, try learning English mate because you cannot talk english for shit, thick as fuck, you wouldn't no proper comedy even if it was to smack you in the face, tossa
Maybe if U didnt comment on here sayin there shit pple wudnt say in tht way...the way u commented waz jus asking for it... if u had to leave a comment u cud ave jus sed "i dunt realli find these guys funni no offense..jus nt my sense of humour" bt no u had to be an asshole nd say they were bullshit...TBH the onli person whu overacted waz u so SCREW YOU SHINOMAN2 !!!
idk why u guys laugh to this shit i have seen some vids of them and nothing funny only people with werid as humor to laugh to this bull shit and the stairs repeating it ain't funny -.-
its not weird humour at all. in that case, yoru arguing with millions upon millions of Laurel and hardy fans, uncluding actual comedians today, so your the idiot, and your the one with weird humour, you sad pathetic clown of a man.
I don't remember the name of the short, but it was about the two of them babysitting their two kids while the wives went out to run errands. It's been years since I've seen it, so it's a little fuzzy, but I remember laughing my ass off at parts.
The world of cinema and film was a lot smaller in those days. To truly make it as a stage comic, you needed to get yourself associated with Fred Karno and his troupe. Both Chaplin and Laurel did this, but it wasn't much of a coincidence - it really was a small world back then. Still, it's nice to think that they were good friends.

This comment is for barson66. That is right Stan Laurel lived in North Shields, so he was at your end of the woods. By the way there is a statue of Stan Laurel in North Shields.

At 0:44, the words they say are...
Stan: See what a little kindness can do?
Ollie: You're right. A little kindness does a looooong way.
Also at 1:43, the words are...
Stan: It's my break.
Ollie: It's MY break!
Stan: It's my break! You went in the pocket there....*thud*

When I was a kid, I saved my paper route money and bought a super 8mm movie projector, and used to borrow Laurel & Hardy movies form the local library. I couldn't get enough of them! I still think they are the funniest comedy duo in movie history.

what movie is 0:26? or episode whatever it is so funny!
dimebag4lyfe 2 years ago
All the clips are from the same movie, Brats (from 1930).

this is totally weird but, funny too.
spareaxe 3 years ago
It's not weird it's true comedy, I don't even consider half the crap that comes out these days as true comedy. True Comedy is silly and fun, I mean just looking at these guys makes me laugh. The reason you don't consider it weird is because you're too modern.

He just means the way 'death' put it together.

Wonder why they never show these guys on TV any more? Seems like anything that was ever any good never gets shown.
Used to have me in stitches as a kid.

You tell him! "You sad pathetic clown of a man" is a hilarious comeback. I think I laughed more at that than at the video. :)

Just wondering where did the scene of Ollie and Stan as children come from?
Mekalmc 3 years ago
its from a short film called Brats, its a great one :)
whitepeaches 3 years ago
I don't remember the name of the short, but it was about the two of them babysitting their two kids while the wives went out to run errands. It's been years since I've seen it, so it's a little fuzzy, but I remember laughing my ass off at parts.

sorry i had no place here to say dat im sorry im just a huge fan of chaplin
bubbajimmy8 3 years ago
Well Stan Laurel was actually on the same acting company as Chaplin isn't that strange lol?
Thesurus01 3 years ago
The world of cinema and film was a lot smaller in those days. To truly make it as a stage comic, you needed to get yourself associated with Fred Karno and his troupe. Both Chaplin and Laurel did this, but it wasn't much of a coincidence - it really was a small world back then. Still, it's nice to think that they were good friends.
