Why the hell was the horse pulling that much weight? Shit, I know drafts are bred for that but that's twice the horse's body weight. the people making it pull HAD to have known the amount of stress that puts on the body.
the only thing i don't like about this is how they immediately continue the competition...generally in an event like this they would either cancel for the day or atleast give some lee way time. sort of strange in my opinion. none the less really sad
@gsxrbuckeye aha fat bitch? Seriously, mate, if you're going to insult someone atleast be smart about it. I don't really give a fuck about you're danes. Thus you can keep you're sick comments to yourself, because the only people that would laugh at them are messed up.
aww how sad!!! But I guess when it your time, its your time. Human and animal alike, the horse could have had an underlying unforseen condition as in many horses. Could have happened anywhere but sadly it had to happen in front of so many people. Pulling is what these horses were bred for, they put the food on the table.
Very well said. I've seen a horse pass away at a smaller horse show. It happens out of the blue sometimes and when it does, it's heart breaking for everyone there. Reality sucks sometimes but it does happen.
@spongebobLOVE01 It's not stupid. Horses that do this honestly enjoy it. Our team is amateurs but they love to work. This is work for them and this is a sport like any other. If a horse really doesn't feel right then they don't pull them.
@yourBeba89 to be honest i could care less if there was a difference of 200lbs. It seriously doesn't matter, either way it was a shit load of weight. AND if you want to get technical the horse was splitting the weight with the other horse so really he was only pulling 4,350lbs. but anyway I'm not a animal activist or anything like that i just posted the vid for the people that heard about it and didn't see it unfold. thanks.
Correction, it had just pulled 8700lbs. I was there, and as this was going on I had to proceed to spend the next 15 minutes trying to convince the tree-hugging person I was with that it was not dead, but merely passed out and then sedated. But moreover, this is the type of video gives PETA Lovers and other like dingle-berries their fuel. So if you fit that description, this horse did take a heart attack the same way that a healthy human can. These animals are given the best care and don't suffer
No, the event goes on...but the people behind the scenes grieve.....
