  • Wheeeeeeere's the Jesus?

  • @QuicumqueVult Whoops, I forgot. This is a video about being an Episcopalian.

  • Father? Hmm...... "And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven" (Matthew 23:9). It is sad that many branches within Anglicanism (which has orthodox roots) has strayed from Christian practice and leans back toward Catholicism.

  • @OneFaithMinistries Odd that Paul calls himself a father then...

1 Cor 4:15 For if you were to have countless tutors in Christ, yet you would not have many fathers, for in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.

  • @Darkestrage14 Odd that you take that out of context. We are not to refer to any man as our Father in a reverent, religious way. Paul saying he is a father does not place him at this level, it means he taught them and raised them up spiritually, this has nothing to do with the title of Father as many have.

  • @OneFaithMinistries LOL, that is the favorite line of protestants. We somehow "Took it out of context." Sorry my misguided friend, but that is perfectly in context. Paul says is is their father because he begot them through the gospel. That would mean that he is not a real father, but a reverent, religious or spiritual father.

Not to mention that telling people who wrote a book what that book means is the height of arrogance.

  • I live in mexico and I would like to visit an episcopalian church I hope so

  • @GentilesForJesus454 : valid Holy Orders from whom? The Pope, who in turn was a one-off from the other four seats of Christianity? What Holy Orders did the Pope of Rome have to consider himself above Orthodox Churches? I am not saying King Henry did something wise, but my point is, Orthodoxy was already on the British Isles shortly after the Resurrection.

  • The Anglican tradition is 2,000 years old. It didn't start with King Henry VIII - - that is a Roman Catholic distortion. Orthodoxy and the original Apostolic Catholic faith was present on the island by 50 AD. Christians defeated the pagan Anglo-Saxons and enveloped most of the Celts within the community of Christ.

  • I have a question does the episcopalian is liberal? they support gay as bishops?

  • @supernatural2029: Yes. They also did not pass a vote 20 years ago stating that Priests must refrain from sex outside of marriage. You also will not find that the Episcopal Church in the USA (TECUSA) does not typically take a strong view on abortion. You are more likely to hear pronouncements to 'save the planet' than to save babies.

  • @ScottMacFie thanks for your response

  • Holy cow Nuduaspiaggia you might be right! I'll mull over the news.

    Blessings,

    Scott

  • @revpetersen Rev. Petersen, you're in my prayers. Take care and may you find yourself one day confirmed with holy chrism at the Easter Vigil and reunited to Christ's holy Catholic Church.

  • You're actually not a priest. You're certainly a minister, and I'm sure you do good work. Anglican orders were deemed invalid by the bull "Apostolicae Curae." Perhaps you can bring your parish back to Christ's holy Catholic Church? Just ask your local Catholic bishop about a personal ordinariate as provided under the apostolic constitution "Anglicanorum Coetibus." You will have to be reordained, but then you would actually be a priest.

  • @nuduaspiaggia Before Roman Catholics try to poach members from the Episcopal Church, I think they need to stop sheltering pedophile-shuffling bishops and priests. For example, Bernard Law is being protected in Rome, Patrick Colleary, formerly of Scottsdale, Arizona, is a fugitive from justice in Ireland, and Thomas O'Brien, the convicted felon former Bishop of Phoenix, who killed a man in a hit-and-run incident and who evaded police for a time, is living in the bishop's residence in Phoenix.

  • @mindspring57 There is no poaching happening. If anyone decides to convert to Catholicism, it is on his own that he does so. As for your comments regarding bishops, perhaps every Episcopalian bishop should be arrested for fraud--they promise salvation but lead all astray.

  • @nuduaspiaggia You might be amazed to know how many Catholics have been driven away by the disgusting conduct of Catholic bishops and priests that has come to light. If by chance Catholicism is "the only truth faith," those bishops and priests are going to have a lot of explaining to do before the throne of God.

  • @mindspring57 We should be disgusted, but that has no bearing on the unique veracity of the Catholic faith. Many choose for various reasons to abandon God and invent new gods to worship: an Episcopalian god, a Lutheran god, a Pentecostal god, etc. No one can be forced to love the true God who gave us His Church for the salvation of our souls.

  • I'm a catholic. however im really interested in the episcopalian church. I've never been to one though. i heard they are similar. Episcopalian is more liberal yet traditional right?

  • yes, it retains many of the ancient liturgies (extremely similar to the Roman Catholic Church) and does overall have more progressive views, but the point is that there is room for a wide variety of viewpoints to be heard and all to be respected.

  • Very well, suit yourself.

  • This is in response to the two comments which were removed. While they were in support of the Episcopal Church they were incendiary in nature. To all those wishing to stir it up along political or theological lines... in response to Jacero 10... please do it elsewhere. While I disagree with Jacero 10's take on the Episcopal Church I do believe he has a right to say them. I also feel comfortable with my response to him and consider this string closed along those lines.

  • "Because nobody else would have me." LOL. I believe it. Nope TEC sure doesn't take anything seriously more than just doing whatever the hell you want. God without a morality. Yep, that is TEC.

  • jacero10- Blessings to you and sorry you appear to be so jaded. Thanks for watching the video and I am glad you got a laugh... that was the intent. I wish I could agree with you but the God whom I serve does require that as a priest and child of God I take very seriously the life of faith. I've been through more than one crossroads and each has required a cost... following Christ does seem to require it.

    Be well!
