Mary Eaton (January 29, 1901 – October 10, 1948) was a leading stage actress, singer, and dancer in the 1910s and 1920s. A professional performer since childhood, she enjoyed success in stage productions such as the Ziegfeld Follies and early sound films such as Glorifying the American Girl and The Cocoanuts, but found her career in sharp decline by the mid 1930s. A battle with alcoholism led to her death in 1948 from liver failure.
Marx Brothers fans were stunningly surprised when Doris Eaton sang this song in the movie. After viewing the high jinks and laughing at the jokes, this beautiful song comes in and completely mesmerizes everyone, with Doris Eaton and the song that they will remember for the rest of their lives.

Who can say? the popular legend is that they were up to their respective high jinks (playing cards, womanizing, at the horse races, etc.) But being music lovers, as they all were, they could have been off on the side just listening to this most beautiful song being performed. Ya never know.....
@singinjohnny That's definitely a possibility. Music was in the soul of the Marx Brothers and who could not fall in love with Mary Eaton's amazing rendition of When My Dreams Come True. So, yes, they probably spent some time listening, dreaming, and admiring Mary as she sang it.
I see this has been video-edited a bit, because the original take is one singular stagnant shot throughout the whole song, save for the zoom in the beginning. Nice work!
Such a beautiful voice! :)
