my mouse is messed up and my win7 home edition 64bit x86 seems unstable.. i tried doing a system restore with my samsung and it says INVALID RECOVERY AREA.
do you think reformating and reinstalling windows 7 will solve this issue? is there a way to reinstall windows 7 without the CD? and solve my mouse problem?
I just upgraded my hdd to Intel X25-M 80GB G2 in my Samsung N120, still waiting for the memory in da mail.. but seriously x25-m is fast, prolly the fastest ssd on da market right now... lil overkill for N120 but thats the way i like it..
Watch your hardware guys. People burned their gfx circuits with Windows 7 on samsung NC10. I noticed it at once also testing it out. Also tested ubuntu/Kubuntu and Ubuntu netbook remix and it was faster than Windows 7, BUT it didn't overload the intel gfx. Arch Linux working like a charm as well. Just a heads up on Win7. Oh and you will be dissapointed on the battery time with win7 compared to XP and most Linux distros.
Win7 isn't worth it imho.. its like a SP with candy gfx.
You can drag the sidebar gadgets onto the desktop in Vista too. you can then close down the sidebar and the icon will remain. Technically its still active but its not taking up screen space.
U can change it only with 3rd p. software, but then you have some scroll screen, so if you move your mouse to the right, you can scroll the screen.. :P, So: U CAN'T
thanks for the video, think i'll have to give windows 7 a go when i get my nc10 - will be upgrading to 2GB of ram as well, only costs £20, so it's not too bad. :)
Excellent video; I think I will put this on my NC-10 which arrives tomorrow. I also have a 2GB DIMM which should help. I liked the download progress icon too. ;-)
PS -- typing this on my new NC-10 but now with Windows 7 because I forgot I'd downloaded the 64-bit version for my desktop PC. Took me ages to figure out why it wasn't working!
Today i installed the 2gb ram module (kingtson). Windows 7 runs a bit faster, but not much. Ram usage with 1gb was 52% after boot. Now with 2gb it's 33% :)
Of course it will also help when you're running multiple apps. One thing I found is that video decoding is poor in Win7; I think the chipset driver support is not quite there.
Yes, HD Video runs very choppy. Youtube works with normal and high quality. I haven't checked MS Silverlight yet (its' an additinal windows-update), but JavaFX runs really fine. The client notice that the video runs out of sync after a few seconds and changes playback properties in this way, that it fits to my nc10 and runs from this time perfectly fluid and sync (audio/video). Kodus Java.

my NC10 with windows 7 ultimate build 7600 does that too!
ThisIs2009 2 years ago
if you have a small res on ur screen, the animation might be a bit too blocky, so they reverted back to vista screen for small screens.

Hey buddy, how is the battery consumption on NC10 with Windows 7 compared to Windows XP?
Also, have you managed to install Samsung's programs (like battery management) to Windows 7?
Cheers,
Bill

is it worth getting. ive just bought 1 and was going to get windows 7. do u reccomend updating the ram to 2gb
joewarcupinhull 2 years ago
on my nc10, windows 7 ran with 1gb ram almost as fast as with 2gb. I think its only worth if you use many programs at the same time. Greets

did you make any changes to the samsung nc10? you say it's original but have you put in more ram or overclocked it etc?
