Peter Steele: “After my mother passed away last year and a couple of other things happened, I pretty much got back to my faith. I was born Roman Catholic. I go to church on Sunday and I do read the Bible. I went to confession for the first time in 30 years. And the priest was very happy that I had come back to church.I’ve always thought that the meaning of life was to try to find something to live for. Now I realize, all this time, it is finding something to die for. I will die for my faith.
today, after rehearsal with my good friend anne, we decided to pay tribute and create a cover of black no.1 with my acoustic guitar, my voice and her cello. if it will work out well, it may become my first upload... ;) R.I.P. PETE! and thank you for the music!!
only that sentence in his own unique deadpan tone and he got us back to cheering and celebrating and loving them. when i learned about his death last year, i'm not ashamed to say, i cried. slow, deep and hard, so to speak. always considered him more than just the singer of a favourite band of mine. it felt and feels more like he was family, a soulmate, something like that.
i just remember seeing them @ the "with full force" festival in summer 1996 when they introduced two songs of the, back then, forthcoming "october rust": "cinnamon girl" and "my girlfriend's girlfriend". the audience (me included) were a bit irritated because it expected something more like the bloody kisses-songs and remained rather silent when girlfriend's girlfriend was finished. and peter, with that voice directly from a grave, went "weeell, thank you for the bright applause..."
Singing the verses up the octave? Peter could've done better...other songs from this performance make it very clear that he definitely can hit and project with low notes live; and this one isn't even that low!
im sitting here in my web design class.i hear all the other student listening to hiphop or whatever the hell its called nowadays but this song just is uttuerly amazing. and iknow im the onl person up in here listening to good reall passionate music :]]

It's really amazing fact how all singers who have deep voice (Petter Steele, Yirky form the 69 eyes, Ville Vallo, Torben Wendt form Diorama etc.) sound shitty live...
the person the camera zooms in on doesn't look they're having a good time.... then again maybe they said ( hey we're filmin' on dvd!!") before hand and became nervous
They're a lot better live than on CD. Recorded, this song bores me senseless. Too much like Sisters of Mercy. But live they actually get their finger out...
Youtube is under serious pressure from media company's to clean up all the copyright infringements...
They've had several big money sponsors (cable networks, ect.) pull money out because Youtube was allowing their copyrighted shows to be posted on the site... So until Youtube get's compliant, their biggest revenue streams are cut off...
It sucks guys... but video hosting is stupid expensive so they gotta do what they gotta do... Thankfully TON rocks live ;-)
met them on the jaegermeister tour w/ hatebreed and 3iob, was super rad. they only played the some stupid tomorrow and the last part of ode to locksmiths though, i wanted more dead again or life is killing me tracks. regardless, amazing concert! this vid is killer too, especially around the 2:30 mark.
The only metal band that could get the whole crowd cheering when the keyboard starts. God bless Josh Silver.

It's hard to amplify and also hard for the singer to hear himself above the noise.
