@realitygals4 that's probably because these african kids know how to actually pronounce the Nigerian words haha. the mo tab did the best they could. ;)
My choir definitely needs some help! This sounds amazing and our choir is apparently not doing the pronunciations right! It's my last year, and I want to make this great, but we definitely need some help.
We have GOT to save Africa!!!!! Seriously people!! I am so happy they have this going and many other things to slowly but surely help Africa and their living and educational situations. They are so passionate and very content but passionate for this to help their continent. It's amazing their passion and want for education, they want to learn!!!! I was so happy when my friend shared this with me!! : )
wouldn't they have grown by now? been listening to the African Children's choir since I was a kid, and I'm approaching 20 now :P lol I guess new kids replace older ones. That aside, beaaaaaaautiful song!!! So proud to be Nigerian/African :)
You know what? I was listening to house music, this particular song had a boys choir sample. I love all music, I searched for "african boys choir". I cant believe how beautiful these young men, and their voices are. Simply inspiring. You fat fuckin lazy pieces of garbage can learn a thing or two. Yppu gondwa ginda hwa umalana hinna. (or close to it, anyways)
The Concert Choir of Kashmere High sang a similar arrangement of this song from 95 thru 2005. We also sang it in Ghana, West Africa in 98. I always wanted the students from my school to learn to sing in many languages. These children are just wonderful!!!!!
@kree8eve We are glad that we have a Father to trust. We are glad that we have a Father to rely upon Where was Jesus born? Where was He born? Bethlehem, the city of wonder. That is where the Father was born for sure. Praise, praise, praise be to Him. We thank thee, we thank Thee, we thank Thee for this day, Gracious Father. Praise, praise, praise be to Thee, Merciful Father.

My choir's singing this, but i noticed the smoothness of the sounds, and the pronunciation of some others. We pronounce the J as a y but they use it like an actual J. "Awa yi o ri baba bo jule" is "Awa i wa ri ba ba bo jule"
I always find it interesting to find something from choir sung by someone who actually knows how to sing it.
I enjoyed hearing this at an Emory University Concert and have been listening to the many versions on YouTube. This is now my favorite--what the choir loses in pitch it gains in joy.
@Rhynox14 Me too. It is a Nigerian Christmas hymn. The title is Bethlehem. I don't know more than that. Check out "Freedom Come" it's a South African choral song.
@fuzzynuggetman27 I sang this in High School in 2005. Its a great song! I unearthed my song book the other day and I STILL LOOOOOOVE this song.
