@maxamillion1011 no u dont need a tuner i got my intake last summer and 2 moths ago i got a poweraid throttle body spacer and felt and sounded better and 2 week after i got and edge programmer truck respods good it felt quick!
Sounds mean! I went with Airaid for my intake kit and it seems ok but I've wondered if I'd receive more performance out of a different brand. They're all similar in price.
when i added a cai to my f-150 5.4 some people thought i also had an exhaust, i put a custom exhaust on with three inch tubing, dual rear exit and four inch tips and it sounds unreal now, next pay check im looking at buying an edge evo. nice truck btw.
Nice sound, I installed the K&N CAI on my 2008 Silverado and got far better acceleration. All I needed was the stock MAF sensor. No check engine light since.
I can't guarantee any other intake, but the AEM CAI is guaranteed not to throw codes as long as you install it correctly. I have had no problems and freakin love the new sound. Really wakes it up. I will be getting a tune though, ordered it about a week ago
I just ordered the AEM. I had issues with my K&N. I would lose tq when going over 80..felt like the transmission would go in and out of gear. Then replaced it with the trueflow and it stopped doing that. But the damn thing is too big and it rubs the hood.
I'm not sure how an intake could cause those problems unless it was installed incorrectly or if you were throwing codes. Glad you got it figured out though
It was put on right, I asked a local shop and they didnt know. The only thing i could think of was the location of the MAF sensor and how the air flowed around it causing a false reading. No codes though. :/
really? i have a K&N and love it, ive heard everyone who i know had one and said they were awesome, oh well, some things just dont work out for some of us, but its good that u got it sorted out though.
Do you need a tuner after getting a air intake..thanks

Did you have problems with the intake throwing codes on you?
krliebsock 3 years ago
nah, like I said, no CELs. I chipped it after that anyway

I own a 2007 f150 also, I was curious about how much hp does that intake add?
krliebsock 3 years ago
Not sure. But it makes a big difference with a tuner. And people always think I have an exhaust. Also much more responsive.

Yeah I haven't gotten any CELs. You should chip it anyway though, it's freakin sick

How much did that run you?
TheKram7 3 years ago
