I had to teach myself too because where I lived there was no instructor so I know what that is like. Perhaps you can try getting a DVD? I didn't get a dvd for bellydance but I just got one for tahitian and it is wonderful!

Just some friendly advice, it looks like to shimmy you are tensing and trying to vibrate. Think about really bending the knees and keeping them relaxed and letting the energy from the leg shimmy your hips while keeping them relaxed. Havefun:)
