Lonesome Dave.....didn't get much better than that guy on a stage in the late 70's, early 80's and beyond........One of Rock's true underrated heroes in my book.
in early to mid 70's Foghat, Montrose & Humble Pie were in Dallas all the time I'm happy to say. They'll be playing in Wichita Falls,Tx. 5/28/10 in a local bar anyone know who will be fill'n in
@BloozeRockJunky yea, I'm just guessing but it seem to me there was a connection between Humble Pie, montrose, foghat & deep purple. Were some of these band members sitting in on some of the tours with each other ? Do you know who is now playing with Foghat now days?
This is one band I have always liked but never got to see in concert. Back in the mid 70's we had tickets to Lynyrd Skynyrd and they had to cancel the show so we traded our tickets for an upcoming Foghat concert and then like an idiot we sold them instead of going.
They are playing at the OC Fair in Orange County California this summer with Blue Oyster Cult. Check out their tour schedule. Don't regret any more. Do it now!! I missed The Zep but not the Who. I saw them 4 times!! Saw Bob Seger next on list is Roger Waters.
Thanks for that heads up on Foghat. Seger put on a great show when we seen them. Another band I always wanted to see but never got to was Nazareth. The song "Night Woman" Rocks!!
You're right--Fog originally formed in London, but found major success in the USA while totally ignored in the UK. They migrated to New York in 1975 and have been American-based since then. Through different lineup changes, several American musicians have played in the group(and still do). Today they're still well-respected on the US classic rock scene, while very few people in their native land have even heard of them.
Still have great memories of the concerts they put on at the International Ampitheater in Chicago back in the 70's. if ya weren't around back then-then you'll never know what you missed.
i saw the her in albuq, back in about 1983,,Blackfoot was supposed to open for them but ,no show .Not sure what happened ,So Foghat did a few extra songs i think Cool huh..They were LOUD and the whole crowd was ROCKIN,,
Say thaem at the old Button South in Hallendale Fl. on this tour and they stone cold rocked down the house with 4 Foghat tunes then Dave said it was time for some kickass blues and the crowd went nuts ! If ya left that nite NOT covered in sweat ya hadda be dead !
I feel fortunate to have seen thme on this tour in 1993 at the Paramount Theater in Bristol, Tennessee. Great hard-rocking blues band! Hard to believe two of them are gone now.
I hate it when people say they love the song through Guitar Hero 3!!!!! Ask them anytime "Ok then do you know anything else by them?" Then they say "Ummm......no" AHAHAHAHAH MAKES ME MAD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I love this song because I got hooked on it one summer in the late 1970's when one of the kids from my bothers little league team stayed with us for a week and played the Foghat Live cassette the whole time he was over. I guess getting hooked from GH3 is better than never hearing the song.
Guitar Hero is a good radio station but Rock cannot and would not exist without the blues ,so there is a disconnect.. I dont mean Mayer either thats a wiener
what is all this guitar hero stuff??? the originals sound alot better than guitar hero any day!!!! ktour the tube for a little bit, kids...you'll see what i mean..... ;)
sitting here wondering if its worth the effort, Seth. what the hell. bragging about GH is about as clueless as bragging about air guitar.
learn how to play a real one. write good songs. rock your ass off in bars and work your way up to stadiums and do it into your twilight years till you drop. like Lonesome Dave here, who passed in 2000, and Rod Price here who passed in 2005.
show some respect. some of us grew up with these bad-asses and yours just ain' all that. but we luvs ya anyways.
I've seen the "omfg guitar hero" teenybopper crap, but most of the songs on Guitar Hero we're written before these idiot's were even dripping down their fathers legs.
My heart is racing at light speed after hearing this. THIS is why I love Rock and Roll !!!!!

Damn we use to roller skate(indoor) hard and fast to this back in the early eighties on the weekends.
This was the one song they played each night for guys only. Go as fast as you can.
For the ladies, they played Fool For The City.
Sometimes, rumbles took place later in the night inside or out in the parking lot and then it was off to a party somewhere. lol
Man those were some great times!
