Wow, it's wierd for me to see adrienne, cuz i always thought she was tooo skinny. and ive been anorexic for 5 years. and im 5'7 and weigh 97 pounds. and shes 5'6 and weighs 97 pounds. so i guess thats how i look. never realized i looked like her. i ca't see it in myself...but on someone else i can see how other people see me.
@elizabethm2289 I had to do inpatient therapy when I was younger this was 12 years ago mind you, and it was 240,000 dollars for 60 days for inpatient therapy and then I had to do 60 days outpatient and that was 100,000 just for that, thats 340k for 120 days of therapy. Thankfully my grandma's insurance paid for it, but we still had to pay like 9,000 of it. And honestly, It caused more harm than not, I ended up "fixing" myself, and stopping the end etc. I'm better now though =)
Wow, Danni is really irritating. I do not feel bad for her at all. She's a spoiled whiner and her family let's her continue to feel sorry for herself.
what happened to adrienne? she lost her job as a teacher too? she's a gorgeous girl who is obviously very determined and hard-working, she seems like a sweetheart and i hope she is doing wonderfully
I am surprised that there is not structure to her abdominal wall, considering she does crunches at the gym and dancing involves a lot of core strength..
that danni girl is a bih. she's not really trying to get well instead she's trying to distract everyone by getting angry so she doesnt have to start the recovery process which begins with talking about her feelings. so instead she gets rude and yells so she can have CONTROL of the situation.
@iloveadamsharp I dont know who you think you are, but if you have not suffered from an eating disorder, you dont realize how hard you are. She is obviously still in the "Not wanting to change" it takes a long time to be fully committed. So you shut your mouth because you are NOT one to judge.
@Sidney10MT i'm not judging her i'm saying what she's doing because I DID THE SAME THING! so thank you for being rude to me. When i was going through my eatind disorder I was the exact same way as her! I knew the second I started talking was the second I'd lose my bulimia which was my life at the time. I am simply saying that she is not being a spoiled brat as everyone is saying. she's scared to give up her disorder thats y she's acting like that. so u can shut your mouth now.
@iloveadamsharp I so agree with you. I've never had bulimia but I can believe that it is really hard to give up something that has been your all for so long.
I'm going to give Adrienne the benefit of the doubt and say that it's the malnutrition that's causing her body to metabolize the only lipids in her body - i.e., the white matter in her brain. That would explain a lot.
@narcissiste84 You know, eating disorders also affect you brain because your brain doesn't receive nutrients and because you have this huge perception that your body is distorted. And that's what your minds thinks the whole day. One of my friends is a recovering anorexic and she says that during the worst period of her ED, she couldn't even concentrate at school, so her grades dropped. Also, these people with an ED have hatred towards people, especially those of the opposite sex.
I don't think that Danni has the right therapist. this mrs mager is not the kind of therapist I would want to have. seriously. she's not in the right field in my opinion. and I can understand why danni cannot connect with her.
@5Heliotrope I wonder if the therapist comes from a DBT or psychodynamic perspective. To be honest, working in this field, I get where she's coming from. Danni is very witholding and almost aggressive during sessions. She says she wants to get better, but then actively cuts off opportunities to get better, such as refusing to allow her mother to attend sessions and refusing to discuss topics relevant to her eating disorder. The therapist actively confronts these behaviors.
@Tribute2the80s I think the scene where Danni acknowledges her anger and sadness shows that the therapy is working even though Danni doesn't feel comfortable. Sometimes good therapy produces discomfort.
@Tribute2the80s I think the therapist is really hitting at some of her ego deficits...which are her belief that she lives in a consequence-free world and that she does not need to take responsibility for herself. She also lacks the capacity to tolerate distress and regulate her emotions, and looks to others/her eating disorder to fulfill these functions. While the therapist might come across as cold or confrontational, she is trying to build these capacities in Danni.
i really think psychiatrists/ologists make so much money of off ed people when the real problem is that they're starving their brain of nutrients, which causes abnormal/ocd like behavior. when i was anorexic, i had such bad ocd that i normally don't even have. but this was a very interesting video, thanks for posting.
