The Maelstrom is cosmetic, meaning that it is only meant to be looked at. I had some unused footage of below it, its just a big hole in the ground, no water at all.

@WoWplayer70 That's how it looks like atm.. wait and see :) you'll probably get automated and chucked down into the Maelstrom and teleported... well that happened at Poseidon's Rise, you know where you help that Naga "Lady" sort of Queen, and 'Poseidon' rises from the vortex, it's underwater tho, not the Maelstrom, ofc. You probably think I'm dumb xD

@RickRay9 I see what you mean, blizz will either invisa wall that cliff thrall is on (where my goblin stands at 1:25 ) or like you said, make a auto teleport. I dont have Beta so cant test it atm :(

@WoWplayer70 actually when you enter in its Deepholm, maybe that wasnt true 4 months ago.

@Denis1735 No, you are technically teleported... on the quest line you fly into it and then you get a loading screen, im talkin about the swirling part itslef... It is a Game Object. if you were to jump into it you would fall through it and die, not be teleported to Deepholm.
