M4 is a model not a military designation. M16 is a model also. You can buy them in civilian spec and its the same gun just not full auto because the feds dont want you having that without paying a lot

I own one. There is little to no felt recoil. If you are shooting the gun muscle memory should give you a decent grouping from that distance, he is all over the place.

M4 doesnt have recoil. The point of target shooting is making good grouping of shots. Whether he is trying to prove the guns efficiency or possible speed, he isnt doing it well if he can't aim

Thats why I got a Colt Match Target Competion H-Bar. You'll feel it after carying it about 18 hours a day because of the heavy barrel. Put a Pachmyr Vindicator pistol grip and Harris Bi pod but and shoot out to 600 meters open sights without a problem adjusting for windage only.
