Because sometimes that's how you have to play. It was a risk he was willing to take, because the chances that Guile would react that way every single time were fairly slim. He just played smart and watched for the openings. However, you're right: the Rufus player probably should've tried something else after one or two of those bad boys. :)

in the 1st round the Guile player risked himself by trayong to land focus, got punished twice.

Then he did it again, but knowing the opponent would try to messiah, but in the last 3 he was playing head or tails with him, won all of them
