I designed it myself, basing it off the helicopter swashplate idea, but with a big hole in the middle for the thrust tube instead of a tiny hole for a heli's main shaft.
Sorry, no new videos. This one uses a brushed GWS EDF64 and 3 cell Lipo. The brushed motor is inefficient and heavy. That's a big part of the reason it didn't fly, not enough thrust. A brushless motor is necessary for good performance.
This plane didn't fly. The airfram it's self was too unstable at low speeds(tip stalled very badly) and the brushed motor didn't put out enough thrust to get going fast enough for stable flight. It was however fairly responsive to control inputs. Basically, the thrust vectoring system was sucessful, the plane as a whole was not. I've not had the time to give it another try.
Feel free to use it as you wish. I've since come up with a better/more percise system, but I haven't gotten around to doing anything with it yet. If you can make something out of it, you're more than welcome :)
@tallblondesexy
I used the cuff end of a latex glove

oh i get it. that would be easy to make. just get 3 servos, a ducted fan plane and a toilet paper roll.

Do you have any movies on your latest work? also what fan and battery voltage did you use? (just curious)

Very clever and efficient! I hope we get to see more of this in detail. Great work.

Excellent proof of concept though! C'mon, set it up in a different plane w/ a bigger motor and lets see it fly!!! Keep up the great work!

Cool idea on the thrust vectoring... any update on how it works in the actual application?
