@SillyWillyFan47 It's actually Tacoma Narrows bridge from some footage I took while out boating on Puget Sound. This is way better than Disney's illusion on their cruise ship. Because I've constructed the a real porthole complete w/ bulkhead (wall) the thickness of a boat hull. Plus the 28" screen is set back 5 or 8 inches behind the porthole. The illusion w/ 1080p video looped from different locations worldwide is quite impressive now that it's finished. People are freaked seeing it! ;P
@SoCalCoaster521 LOL I know crazy right? "A porthole? On a boat? In a wood cabin on the side of a mountain?!! WTF?!" haha Well, having lived on the coast for half my life, I kind of miss it, but I like the mountains too... So my Dad had the idea to keep the living room all cabin and mountainy like and remodel the kitchen and dining nook to look like on a boat! It's based off the fact that the middle bedroom already looks like an old wooden sailboat interior anyway.
@kroneage The main attraction of the scene is that porthole above the sink, which has a TV behind it and a PS3 playing ocean videos (or any type). The key to the illusion is that the TV is placed about 4 inches beyond the outside of the "hull" (which is another 4 inches beyond the glass) - So, it gives the illusion that you can see from all angles as you're looking around "outside" 3D Depth!(unlike the Disney cruiseship "Magic Portholes" in the interior rooms (which are just flat round screens)
@kroneage P.S. The video is just a random video I took of the Narrows Bridge a long time ago, it's not meant for this kind of thing. We just don't have any kind of continuous loop to test it with at the moment. Still looks crazy!! Especially in person!

how do you do it? Is it green screen video editing or a screen placed behind the porthole playing the golden gate footage?
