@shido534 You got weapon mods during the first mission, when you blow up the ship's door with the GEP gun. Accuracy and laser, I think. They're gone now. Did you sell them? If so, to who?
@thatcacti What do you mean getting past the lasers? Go back round the other side to smash the two crates after putting the two guys to sleep? That's what I did. :S
You can supercede the use of several Multitools or Lockpicks by pressing F1 (Inventory) and waiting 20 to 30 seconds. It's an unresolved glitch in the game.
@shido534 Well, you could employ an alternative approach I suppose. But if you obsessively hoard items like myself, you'll want to use them as sparingly as possible. I never spend any of my Credit Chits, in spite of the fact that they have no inherent monetary value.
It's been a little over 2 years since I came across this walkthrough. I'm still watching it, which in itself says a lot, A LOT, about the quality of the walkthrough. Purely awesome. nuff said.
@crozan11 You can.. but the view is pretty crappy. The game was designed as an FPS, after all. And there are no mods, to my knowledge, of a 3rd person view, like what you'd get in GoW or RE 4....
@Superlagg This is a walkthrough where I kill as few people as possible, not where I save as many as possible (and for a short period of time; even if all of the NSF survived Battery Park, Simons likely would have them killed).
Cheers, but I think I worked it out. If you leave the way you came in then Anna thinks you are cowardly, if you continue after seeing the Ambrosia out into the kiosk and hide while Anna kills the NSF, she thinks you killed them all.
@Octavium Yeah, when you return to the surface after finding the Ambrosia, Anna will run towards you. If there are NSF grunts in the way, then they're goners. Guess you weren't quite emulating me. :P
How do you get the NSF to run into the tunnels instead of at Anna? I'm trying to emulate you and they just get slaughtered by her. Then she congratulates me for killing them!
@Octavium I don't get the NSF to run into the tunnels. Anna and the NSF will fight each other at some random time, but I found the Ambrosia and fled before that time passed.
thats a good glitch you found about blowing the safe with the door nice touch wish i saw you do that befor i wasted a lockpic for it lol in my case i personally think its the other way around you find more lockpics on this game then you do multitool kits cause they show up more in the crates but then again i seem to use more lockpics then anything else so ill take you word for it good vids mate
This walkthrough has been a dream to watch. Two question though, what exactly do you do with all the ammo you pick up, since it's a non-lethal walkthrough? Do you sell the ammo? Also how come you didn't increase any of your skills with the skill points in the part prior to the start of the game?
@shido534 If you don't do anything with the extra ammo, why pick it up? Does picking it up prevent enemies from having reloads or something? For instance, in Metal Gear Solid 3, destroying the storage areas where ammo is stored, the enemies will eventually run out of rifle ammunition and have to switch to pistols. Is it the same here when you take the ammunition?
i have the game and didnt think much about nonleathal takedowns and theres alot of places i didnt know about and by the way your a class player i would be shite compared to you
Sometimes it is frustrating that using stealthy weapons alert every enemy while using unsilenced weapons does not alert them. I remember this happening at least in very beginning of the game.
I doubt it's the stealth weapon per se that alerts the enemies because that's never happened to me. I suspect that you're killing the enemy from afar with one shot from an unsilenced weapon; but when you use the stealth weapon, you don't get the instant kill, allowing him to alert others. Or perhaps you just have a different, buggy version of the game.
well not to be a nerd but, you make three sounds, your weapon, hitting the target, and when they go down, if they scream. If someone dies, they scream, so others are altered, if you knock them out, but make a hit sound, people hear, if your gun makes a sound, so the prod is the only weapon that silences all three, so a target can be right next to someone, go down, and not alert the close target.
You put a laser sight on the crossbow, right? It didn't seem like you activated it when you were aiming it at the shootout, I'm not sure if that was intentional. I also found it odd that you put a scope on the GEP instead of the crossbow, but then again, this run has a very different mentality behind it than when I play.
I did activate the laser, but I suppose it's not very visible on YouTube. You might be able to catch its reflection at the top of the road barrier at 6:53.
I didn't care which weapon got the scope because I would never use it for aim; it's just too unstable without weapon skill upgrades.
How many times have you played through DX? You seem to know it front and back so far. Great walkthrough btw, I've been playing it somewhat stealthy but if I screw up I just flamethrower most of the guys as they run at me lol.
I've played through a few times, each with different skill sets and augs, but if you read the comments for my videos you'll find that I missed a few things. Good luck with the flamethrower when you meet the commandoes.
Thanks for the great walkthrough, but I have one question.
Is it possible to complete the level with only 2 lockpicks at the start? Because I have tried it multiple times and I can't finish the level because of my lack of lockpicks.
I find it easier to use the baton then the prod. The baton works just as well with combat strength and doesn't require ammo. This is especially true with MJ12 commandos. I can't knock them out with the prod, but with a baton I can easily knock them unconscious.
The crate at the end I usually push it into the burning barrel. This can be done with out alerting the guards, cause like you said, they're stupid AI.
I agree. EXCELLENT JOB. I study these videos all the time.
Since I know you like to get all the credits you can get, there are some easily accessible ones at 4:01 on a small ledge that you can use the medical crate to reach easily.

when its nonlethal is because in the mission u dont must kill people or u dont kill people because you dont want?
