@xPeww I disagree. TE loves to share his gift. He expends a lot of effort to show us humble musicians that perhaps we can dig a little deeper and find that little nugget we didn't even know we had. Practice, practice, practice.
@BaRNeYxSiNGaLoNG Certainly. After you're finished doing your mother. CALM DOWN AND REMEMBER TO TAKE YOUR MEDICINE! You'll never have the temperament to play guitar or anything else for that matter. Bye-Bye Now!
You KNOW you are doing something really cool and good when your video has nearly 85,000 views and 1 dislike. And that guy probably just had fat fingers! :D
This won't hurt a bit?? BS.. of course it hurts.. Tommy, you are the master. I will say this: I headed Tommy's advice: Learn the songs by ear: It was the hardest thing I've attempted to do; learning this by ear. Now, I learn naturally by ear, but Tommy's were much harder. I will say, the end result was much better than any old tab. I feel I have a much better understanding of the piece as well as more feeling when I play. Tommy was right..

@angeldanny87 oh my god! I was listening to "The Hunt" by the one and only. I lauged so hard at what I heard next. As someone said in the comments: "If cancer was a sound, this would be it" :P
Yep, seen him 4 years in a row in San Francisco, have tickets for the 5th next February, and you're right. The Best is from the beginning to the end. We love him here!
i have been practicing this song for some time and pretty soon i will upload it and i always wanted to practice it with hybrid picking which is for sure more difficult than thumbpicking. or for me atleast. this was the first song that i heard Tommy playing and since than i am a huge fan of his work and his personality too.
I was all excited to learn this piece with some alternating thumb stuff, which I think I'm pretty good at... turns out this is flat picking and hybrid picking?! Oh well...
He was in Groningen last saturday and the show was the best I've ever seen as well (my first time to see T.E.). I also got a meet and greet before the show, was awesome!
took me awhile to get this song down right. I will never play it as good as Tommy thou. He puts so much emotion into his playing that it's impossible to mimic. If you learn this song make sure you warm up before playing it cause it's a work out!!!!
Tommy is coming to Bangkok Thailand for a show and I plan on being there. I have never heard of him before the announcement in the Bangkok Post but, have tuned into the many YT clips and must admit, it has been my loss.
He made a dvd called "labour". This is a clip from that video. He explains the song in the DVD. However, he explains it best just by the title of the DVD. Namely "labour".....;)
he has 2 leads because he sometimes does percussive taps/scrapes, so he needs to be able to adjust the mix of the percussion and the strings. probably a mic inside for the taps, and an undersaddle pickup for his guitar.
I live in New Zealand and I went to one of his concerts, however I arrived really early and Tommy decided to let the few early birds actually meet him in person! It was great he is a really nice guy, he even signed this other guys guitar and played a bit for us ten or so people in the room! unforgettable.
Analist... you´re so lucky.. I wish to meet him someday. Tell him to come to Argentina if you see him again please! I have a bunch of people here who would lolve to see him. I¨ll chech your channel later, I must go to a guitar building course, I´ll be doing a copy of his maton (let´s see what happens..) ^^! Best wishes.
@Analist I saw an interview of him yesterday here in YT and he said he wrote this song after his wife went with another man, and that´s why it´s an emotional drive to him. Check the "Tommy Emmanuel at Švandovo Theater" videos, totally priceless, it´s always a pleasure listening to him either speaking or playing.

One (front) is for stage sound goes direct to alesis II reverb. Second is for straight un-effected sound to recording gear for later dubbing. I think
