I will say this: I headed Tommy's advice: Learn the songs by ear: It was the hardest thing I've attempted to do; learning this by ear. Now, I learn naturally by ear, but Tommy's were much harder. I will say, the end result was much better than any old tab. I feel I have a much better understanding of the piece as well as more feeling when I play. Tommy was right..

i have been practicing this song for some time and pretty soon i will upload it and i always wanted to practice it with hybrid picking which is for sure more difficult than thumbpicking. or for me atleast. this was the first song that i heard Tommy playing and since than i am a huge fan of his work and his personality too.

took me awhile to get this song down right. I will never play it as good as Tommy thou. He puts so much emotion into his playing that it's impossible to mimic. If you learn this song make sure you warm up before playing it cause it's a work out!!!!

he has 2 leads because he sometimes does percussive taps/scrapes, so he needs to be able to adjust the mix of the percussion and the strings. probably a mic inside for the taps, and an undersaddle pickup for his guitar.

I live in New Zealand and I went to one of his concerts, however I arrived really early and Tommy decided to let the few early birds actually meet him in person! It was great he is a really nice guy, he even signed this other guys guitar and played a bit for us ten or so people in the room! unforgettable.
