  • snow patrol called out in the dark

  • I DONT FUCKING GET IT. Everyone SHITS on Yes's material after Close to the Edge because of a GRADUAL Line up change... yet when King Crimson completely changes fucking members and sound nobody calls their later stuff shit!!

  • Saw this band in 1984.... one of the best concerts I've ever seen ...no exceptions

  • Im not that familiar with KC yet. This song reminds me heaps of Rush. Are they similar?

  • @cageofman Just keep in mind King Crimson not only constantly changed members (Robert Fripp was the only constant) but also completely changed their sound. This is NOT what King Crimson 1969 sounded like! :) Start with their first album and work your way through their entire discography - they are really worth it.

  • timeless more than sleepless. :D

  • War:Lemmy

    Pestilence: The Ox

    Famine: Papa Bear

    Death: Geezer

  • Does anyone know what the symbol on the album cover is?

  • @Lightmane321 I think it's a stylized "KC".

  • One of the best live shows I have ever seen~! :)

  • more overrated hack nonsense

  • God: Charles Mingus.

  • I wonder where I have heard this before?

  • Brilliant album, my favourite King Crimson music, especially Dig Me, Man With An Open Heart and Three Of....

Lyrically sublime, immaculately performed and composed.

Great production, so unlike any other bands I can think of.

Fripp never throws a stright ball. Ever.

This is why he is respected, he is unpredictable yet entirely listenable.

There must be a queue of musicians waiting to play with him.

The Andy Summers collaboration I Advance Masked is a case in point. That was a superb album too.

  • i don't get this era of KC. i mean composition is maybe good but even hard to tell when you get such a weird production and manner of performing. but i just don't like reverb ;) and there is really a lot of that. messy stuff. but not in a crazy-messy or complicated-messy way that would appeal to me. just sounding mess-messy ;p to me ofc.

if anyone would like to try to answer what he or she likes about this album, i'll be thankful. (i mean a bit of analysis of own opinion not just praising ;])

  • @odolany I never listen to the 3 albums from this period and I love KC

  • What is JACK BRUCE??

  • where i'm from people fear shape shifting musicians like this.

    WATCH OUT LOCALS !!!

  • still used by Rage/JJJ this is one of my "Perfect" pop songs....ps sounds BEST on the vinyl press...trust me i have it on all media m50, and the video clip is shit they could have done a LOT better for such an impotant song

  • so ahead of their time

  • King Crimson is so friggin awesome!

  • what about Les Claypool, Flea, Lemmy (sometimes), Steve Harris....?

  • who are the jerk that don't like ???

  • Sounds simple(compared to typical slap bass) yet its brilliant.

  • three bassists arch angels(those who don't do rock n' roll)

    Jaco Pastorius

    Stanley Clarke

    Victor Wooten

  • @grevejp44

Yep - best of bests / creme de la creme ...

    ... next comes marcus miller

But for crim-heads like me JOHN WETTON's crucial bass play is irreplacable!

  • @CrimsonKing63 Well for Crim-heads like me, Trey Gunn was better at playing bass for King Crimson than any of his predecessors.

    Uslightlyirritatedbro?

  • is perfect ... just perfect

  • sweet, it's PERFECT !!!

  • The original was super......this one blew me away!!

  • Let's not forget on The Bassist's Apocalypse:

    Steve Harris;

    Les Claypool;

    John Paul Jones;

    Roger Glover.

And trust me there are more with these elite skills on the 4-String.

  • @MrDnc1975

Some phenominal musicians you got their, especially Steve and Les, Iron Maiden and Primus are 2 of my favourite bands.

  • War: Chris Squire? I say Paul McCartney! except Paul for pestilence and Geddy for War. I also liked John Wetton better than Levin...

  • Slappa da bass!

  • If vocals weren't present this would be so much better,

  • @zzzxxyy Death: Greg Lake

  • roger waters???????? u mean dave gilmour..he done most of waters bass playing in the studio cos he couldnt handle it

even live he was simplicity at its best ......couldnt even touch Guy Pratt

cant take away hes a great lyrist

  • ASTOUNDING!!!

  • The Four Horsemen of the Bassist's Apocalypse:

    Pestilence: Geddy Lee

    Famine: Tony Levin

    War: Chris Squire

    Death: John Entwistle

  • @zzzxxyy Right on bro

  • @zzzxxyy you forgot Roger Waters and Greg Lake

  • @slideon GREG LAKE genious!!!! Roger not so much as a bassist, but he's a great lyric-writer and composer

  • @TheAbdabsSound @pattomrickandgary I'm a huge Floyd fan, so your arguments do not affect my opinion.

  • @zzzxxyy I approve.

  • Wow...

  • @zzzxxyy hahahah totally agree

  • @zzzxxyy Replace Chris Squire with Steve Harris and you'd start the apocalypse NOW

  • @MrDoggerDog Steve Harris was influenced by The Fish. But, hey, Harris is fucking sick too.

  • @zzzxxyy Is he? Hope he gets better soon. All good thoughts for Steve Harris.

  • @vdgghead No. He's alive. I just meant he's a good player.

  • @zzzxxyy

    Geddy Lee

    Tony Levin

    Michael Manring

    Les Claypool

  • @crayZtaco7 I love Manring. Fucking awesome with his minimalist texture. Claypool kind of bores me sometimes.

  • @zzzxxyy

michael manring is number one in my book. genius. and i can get what your saying but he still has a sound thats all his own. but the first 3 primus albums are simply amazing. that was when his strength as a bass player was exploding through the roof.

  • @zzzxxyy u gat a nice dik, sho me ur hot bodi i cum 4 u sexii do me dog style plx

  • @zzzxxyy Tony Levin, Victor Wooten, Les Claypool, Geezer Butler

  • Another AMAZING tour I was blessed to have seen!!!!!

  • 1 person felt a little fear for the rumble in its ears

  • Hey now. This was my era. Can't beat it.

  • This one was one of the best by this generation of King Crimson. Give us more mr. Robert Fripp.!!!

  • Hell Yeah! funky fucking fingers...!

  • Silouhettes like shivering ancient feelings..........

  • I had this on vinyl and looked for it on I tunes a while back...I loved this.... Dark and heavy is what I loved about it.....THANKS for posting.....

  • Musicianship that most bands can only dream about... I have this on vinyl and man did I play the heck out of it. Love it!

  • @LordFancourt the music is timeless......could have been recorded yesterday.

  • @coreyagraph Precisely.

  • levin for president

  • @MrHydrogoon he would have my swing vote.

  • @MrHydrogoon - Levin for president . . . Never thought about that but I actually like the idea. Any idea how we can get him to run? Cheers.
