  • Notice the text was censored as back then an industrywide censorship system didn't exist, hence Tam Tam's stage being named "Green Vale" instead of "Green Hell" (in Japanese the H can be turned into a B with the two quote-like nigori marks).

  • OMG! compared with the background....looks like two badass midgets are fighting

  • having a nostalgia trip right now

  • To call me "awesome" is an understatement. Haha what a douche

  • just bought this game today for 10$ :) i love it already

  • This just shows that the snes was more of a rpg console than an action console.

  • why play the snes or genesis version? Play the neo geo version ;)

  • I've always been a Nintendo fan, but the Genesis version was far superior. It had red blood, not orange, and the fatalities were still in the game as well.

  • @MrWraith1977 Let me share you a fact about both versions.

The SNES version was developed by Monolith Co. Ltd. for Takara and SNK, while the Sega Genesis version was developed by Saurus Co. Ltd, one of SNK's development divisions.

  • @MrWraith1977

not to mention genesis had larger sprites and the framerate was a lot faster and smoother, snes got a horrible port unfortunately.

  • @MrWraith1977 Genesis version was missing too many key frames and correct attack animations.

  • I'd take the genesis version over this any day.

  • Mi hermano jugaba este juego en el año 1991 cuando yo tenía como 4-5 años, yo lo veía jugar este juego, q recuerdos !!!

Fuera el tiempo para devolverlo y vivir esaépoca otra vez !!!

  • I find that the SNES version has a way better soundtrack than the Neo version. Just compare Tam Tam's awesome theme to the Neo-Geo version and you'll see what I mean. I have both versions, and I like both equally in their own ways.

  • i want to unlock boss tht kills u in fucking 4 shots he makes me angry -.-

  • @jokeyyou

When the TAKARA logo appears, press A, Y, X, B on controller one or controller two. You will hear Amakusa's voice. Select 1P vs 2P or Count Down. When the character select screen appears, hold L and R and Amakusa will appear. Press any button to select him.

  • This was the most expensive SNES game i ever bought i think i paid around $75.00 for it at toy's R us back in 95

  • The AES version is nicer looking.

  • The Genesis has a better version.

  • The Genesis version seems more of a loyal conversion and authentic experience, seems like they went pretty cheap on this one for the SNES. Why are the characters so damn small???

  • Poor Snes.... that game runs awesome in MAME!......

  • Neo-Geo is far superior, of course! This poor port for SNES have missing sound and speech, it´s much slower, fight zoom in/out is missing, caracter sprites are much smaller, missing animations and frames,

no objects to broke etc. I can not play it on SNES, after I tested it on Neo, sorry.

  • it isnt bad.... but it isnt great either! both spartastar and retro1gamer are going to the extreme.

  • do u knw at system samurai shodown 2 is for?

  • Samurai Shodown 2 was origionally released for the Neo-Geo in 1994. It is available on Samurai Shodown Anthology for the PS2 and Nintendo Wii. It is very difficult to find in stores, so eBay would be the best place to find it.

  • thank u, this video made me digg up my copy, ill hav to look for the neo geo copys.

  • You're welcome.

  • @MHfan305 Only Neo-Geo version was made for SS2.

  • Samurai Shodown (Super Nintendo)

    Graphics: 8/10

    Sound: 8/10

    Game play: 8/10

    Fun Factor: 9/10

    Overall: 33/40

  • you must be mad with that score.

  • This game is very enjoyable. It contains all the characters, stages and most of the speech. The music isn't as good as the arcade version, but porting a 118 megabit arcade game to a 16-bit console isn't very easy. My only complaint with this version is that the game play is slower than the arcade. An option to increase the speed would have been a nice touch.

  • @spartastar i disagree with you....A LOT!

  • @Dman761 if you play all the conversions of this game you will soon see that the game is just a likeness conversion, back then as long as a port could boast it has all the characters ect ect, the strength of the console did the rest. ie:- one would say SF2T is better on the snes, so SSF2T has to be better than the MD version... Wrong! every one knows sega got the better job on the Super. people just assume when they have not tested it for them selfs. Snes built a lot of rep with SF.

  • i have this game

  • Nice video. I just make character specials for the Gameboy version of this game.

  • Well, i already make the GB versions few months ago. Shall i make that video as a response video for your Samurai showdown(GB) video?

  • Sure, sure. If you want.
