Omg I loved this story line. Especially this part. I learned sign language thru them. A girl friend of mine practiced it with me for long time. It came in handy in crowded rooms, clubs, and even when we argued in public. We didn't want anyone to know what was going on. Steve and Kayla!!

I was watching this, loved it because I was half deaf. Are there any more 'hearing' shows with sign language? How does Kayla know sign language? Did they learn sign language just for this...episode?

Kayla became deaf from an explosion. She had a hearing-impaired therapist named Peggy who taught her & Steve to sign. This storyline went on for months & Steve had to both sign what other people said for Kayla as well as speak her signs to them. This went on until she regained her hearing right before their wedding. On their honeymoon, they found a child, Benji, who was deaf, so they had to sign to him. So these two storylines actually played over a long time. Kayla's sister Kim also signed.

its one of the best storylines. Harper attacked her in the basement of her building there was an explosion, she lost her hearing and speech, She got her hearing back the daybeofe her wedding and she regained her speech during the wedding.
