best children shows of the 90's : Kratt's Creatures, Rugrats (the original), busy world of richard scarry and all the others that used to be on PBS and nickelodeon. Too bad we can't control time. At least re-air all the old shows of the 90's. I'm 22 now and the shows now suck.
because most shows don't focus on the key focus: FAMILY entertainment (keyword Family). Take MLP: FIM. That show has major focus on not just girls but also adult men, main to focus on family entertainment.
as the late Walt Disney once said: "Focus on just children and you're just kill yourself. Adults are just children grown up"
it makes me sad that my niece and nephew don't have shows like this :( what are my poor hypothetical children going to do without cool educational television?
This show reminds me of my childhood worry-free days in the mid 1990's. I used to watch this at my aunt's house when my mom would work. It makes me think of the people who would go there since some of them have passed. I have good memories and the theme brings about those memories. That's good old-fashioned classical conditioning.
oh my goodness. I always felt like something needed to happen for me to feel like a grown adult. I'm 25. Iv'e seen my childhood playground built for my old elementary and destroyed in my lifetime, but i think this tops it. i really do feel aged.
Kids, when that butterfly comes along and turns you and your friend into an astronaut, you know you've smoked too mu- err, read enough to enhance your imagination :P God i miss this show :)
I remember from first to third grade when we watched this and everyone knew all the words to the song...now it's mostly bill nye...I miss reading rainbow and the magic school bus
I used to watch this show during snacktime in kindergarten. To this day, 16 years later, I have flashbacks to Nilla wafers and pint-sized milk cartons. :)
@Seanze329 HE WAS AN A--HOLE? REALLY? I'M SORRY THAT HE CAME OFF THAT WAY. HE SHOULD HAVE KEPT HIS GOOD GUY MENTALITY THAT HE HAD ON THE AIR WHEN HE CAME TO YOUR SCHOOL BACK IN THE DAY. THAT PROBABLY EXPLAINS WHY HE'S NO LONGER ON PBS....
I haven't watched reading rainbow in over a decade, and when I heard this....immediately remembered it. Damn the 90's were nice to be a kid in.....relax, watch all the great shows, go through all the 90's fads, no worries, no bills....
Is this show still running?
