  • why this music is so goddamn nice :( just cant stop listen to my hero

  • Demonic riffs!

  • stop calling him Tommy. get it right, it's TONY IOMMI fool!

  • @lennydog666 Oops, sorry, had a couple of cooly pops in me at the time

  • Love this song, and think this album gets a bad rap. Trashed is another classic Sabbath song.Great sound with Ian Gillan, too bad they couldn't do more together. Also loved Ian Gillan with Perfect Strangers. He was at his prime here.I hope Tommy makes it.. For all you young stooges who never had the pleasure of seeing them live, and feel fit to dismiss them, go watch a beyonce video, this one might give you nightmares and is from the time when men were men! haha

  • @kqp76t AMEN...this song has always been one of my favorites from Sabbath ..the video is kick ass and Ian has always been kick ass

  • black sabbath no es nada sin ozzy

  • Good Lucky Tommy you can beat Lymphoa

  • I'm almost positive that the guy that plays "Zero" in this vid, is in a mobile phone advert w/his twin brother. It's a mobile phone advert aimed @ "baby-boomers." Stupid as hell too.

    Excellent song!!!!!!!!!!

  • In his book "Iron Man " , Iommi talks about how Guns n Roses " Paradise City " sounds like this. Maybe a tiny bit but i think he is stretching it to be honest

  • Excellent! Love this song and Ian is the best vocalist in rock-n-roll. I bought the Born Again album and find it very actual and strong. T'was good times when Ian Gillan was the vocalist of Sabbath. Love Ian and TONY much!

  • great song

  • Cool, the closeup onstage shots of the band were filmed during soundcheck in Sudbury, I operated the spotlight on Ian Gillan for this,as for the rest of the video I'm not sure when or where,we were told the band was filming a promotional video...I remember that night they opened with Children of the Grave and for an encore they played Smoke On the Water...

  • This concert fucking rocked! Glad I got to see them with Ian

  • Classic stuff man.

  • The cross in the audience is yet another fuckin' epic thing in the video - as well as the gig itself - once again, makes me a proud soldier of rock'n'roll!

  • this song and video kicks a $ $ .........

  • i want to put my cat in this vdeo

  • Най- великото на Sabbath (по мое скромно мнение).

  • Най- великото на Sabbath (по мое скромно мнение).

  • a clasike you will never get any thing this great peace norway

  • i wish there were more albums with ian gillan on vocals!!they had more to give

  • super song

  • maravilhoso,classico,ian gilan detona nesse album,meu favorito

  • ㅘㅏㅏㅗㅗㅓㅓㅗ효ㅑ8햐8ㅛ

  • Each to his own. Iconism aside I think Ian got into a groove with Sabs that sticks in your memory. Maybe because it didn't last is why it still burns bright now.

  • great song,great singer!

  • Greatest of the 80's gloomy metal....love it. So ahead of it's time.

  • miss the 80's man

  • The riff in this song is one of the most perfect, doomy, and inevitable of all time. It has been playing since the beginning of time and will still be playing when we're all dead. Tony Iommi just unearthed it and tapped it for this song.

  • @wolfmetaldrums oh god yes

  • most UNDERRATED Sabbath work ever!!!!

  • one of the sickest base lines EVER!

  • wtf?! was that Meatloaf i saw at the beginning?!

  • I should elaborate for younger ones who might not know who Randy "Rhoads" (sorry for earlier mispelling) is search out the Blizzard of Ozz album.

  • @FrancoHitlini average guitarist

  • @kenjoje wow only average ? he only invented a sound that all metal bands copy in one form or another

  • @kenjoje randy? he invented nothing. classic example of fame caused by death

  • shit they might as well have had the singer of motley crue sing for sabbath. No one could compare to Ozzy.

  • @wesleydeathcrow

I tend to agree that Ozzy will always be Ozzy. Randy Rhodes though... how awesome is that? Sad loss.

  • imo Born Again is an EXTREMELY underrated album. Solid top to bottom.

  • @gumbowski

Yeah u 'rite - underrated indeed! Sadly, this was a one off team-up. Ian would return to the Purple fold soon after.

  • coooool...............tré LOUD!

  • eek a rat!

  • I just love when they INCREASE the huge theme when the vocals begin. BEAST...

  • This is Heavy!!!

  • Ian joining Sabs was just sublime. Sometimes I wish DP never reformed and this incarnation lasted longer but wasn't to be sadly :(

  • @FrancoHitlini

I'm with you on this. Whilst Perfect Strangers was a great album, House Of Blue Light was damn near as cheesy as BA's album cover.

  • Thumbs up if you came here from the Cannibal Corpse version!

  • THE BEST ROCK-N-ROLL OR METAL EVER BORN AGAIN

  • Trippy video....

  • Is there a concept to both of the music videos to this and "Trashed"? I would like to know by no info on the internets.

  • All these fans of Born Again and yet its considered Sabbaths biggest bomb?.... @AngelofAnguish: this definitely ranks with the first....and I still think Master of Reality was better than Paranoid...of course I could be wrong ,after all, the majority is always right.

  • Heaven and hell= Blizzard of Oz. / Born Again = Diary of a Madman. What a time to be rockin to all that!!!

  • i saw that tour back in 1984/85 whit nazareth in open act at montreal forum on acid wrong choice of dope for that night oh la-la (sabbath playing smoke on the water for the encore BAD well it was ian gillan best vocal that night tho...what a sucky night and concert ..but i was there 8)

  • @electrohippy68 oup i mean 1983 84 oh well memory trouble whit the age héhéhéhé.............

  • I've seen Sabbath 19 times, the first time at the Cal Jam and the last time at Ozfest,(the only times I've seen them with Ozzy) I've owned every album Sabbath ever did. Born again always get dissed, but along with Seventh Star (Iommi shines with his solo on Heart like a wheel!) this is one of the greatest Sabbath albums ever made after Ozzy. (hmm... both those albums feature an ex Deep Purple singer)

  • @awickedtribe Believe it or not, I listen to Born Again more times than Sabbath's self-titled debut-in my opinion, THAT'S SAYIN' SOMETHIN"!

  • one of my favorite sabbath albums.

  • Meu, já curto essa musica todos os dias depois que descobri esse clip, fiquei +doida ainda, que bizarrooooooooooo!!!!!!!!

  • Some great stories are linked to this album and tour. Gillan knelt down to the floor covered in smoke and tried to read the lyrics, which he never learned, and was mistaken for Dio when he looked up. Iommi insisted om having lifesized Stonehenge on stage in pure Spinal Tap-style. The designer of the album cover created a tasteless picture trying to get fired on purpose. Unfortunately Iommi loved it. Great music though!

  • @Pata1 some awesome! thanks for sharing :D

  • @Pata1 I bet KING DIAMOND would've LOVED the Born Again cover! To THIS day, I'm, STILL, FLOORED by Iommi's guitar playing on Trashed and Zero the Hero! Talk about wanting to play (a little) "air guitar!"

  • Sensacional album!!!!! Inacreditavel!!!

  • This was one badass album!

  • Obviously Iommi was influenced the an albut that came out a year earlier. Pornography by the brilliant robert smith. The Cure !

  • Very very dark...satanic...pure Black Sabbath! Deep Purple's Ian Gillan and ELO's drummer joined sabs in the mid 80's after Dio left to form his own band...and they released this one album in 83 called "Born Again". This song is very catchy.

  • @Gwynthr actually Bill Ward of the original Sabbath re-joined and played drums on this album (Vinnie Appice left with RJ Dio). ELO's Bev Bevan only joined after it was recorded as Bill didn't feel up to touring.

  • is there a more scary video, love this song, tony's classic guitar shimmering at the begining sounds like scream from people dying

  • With my luck, I'd be the poor schmuck stuck behind the guy holding up that huge cross at 1:46

  • @megaladon73 Shouldn't that cross be "inverted?"

  • BEST TRACK FROM BORN AGAIN

  • I love this tune, from the groove and the fat low end sound. I think it has a somewhat modern sound. I love some Sabbath and Iommi is the master of riffs. My band No More People just released a music video for our song, "In The Dollar We Trust." It has a groove similiar to this. You can click on my name to see the video.

  • all Sabbath is good tunes...but anyone who says the NON-OZZY stuff is best is on CRACK!!!! OZMAN-IOMMI is the best there is!!!!! hands down!

  • As a Sabbath fan for over 30 years I love this band as much as anybody, but I dare any Sabbath fan to actually listen to this album straight through- its a difficult task. Its no wonder this lineup only lasted one album. Zero the hero is by far the best track on it to me and its hypnotic riff is still awesome today-but please this album is way down on the list when you look at their body of work. The video is nauseating aside from the concert footage and made me throw up several times. :)

  • @fuzzylines

What the fuck are you talking about? I've listened to Born Again all the way through, countless times. It's a masterpiece. and I know plenty of people who'd say the same. One of their best albums.

  • @TheSilentCreature Believe it or not, I listen to Born Again more times than ANY of the Ozzy-era releases!

  • @TheSilentCreature Can you imagine what would happened if Born Again was Sabbath's debut album?!

  • looks kind of like the video for bark at the moon

  • Comment removed

  • awesome video....

  • this album was/is great

    LOVE Tony Iommi

Gillan sounded awesome when I saw DP a few years ago

  • No wonder Gillan lost his voice so early. But, nevertheless, this shit is awesome!!

  • awesome

  • i bet this video scared the shit out of some christians in the 80s

  • CC does it better

  • VIVA BLACK SABBATH-BEST OF THE BEST

  • live portion shot in Montreal, was there for the show, fab. Gillan was a decent choice, too bad he left when DP rejoined. Sabbath continues... but where is Purple, Ian?

  • This video really doesn't follow the lyrics and its really strange!

  • i remember back in 84 getting sent home from the 8th grade for wearing a sabbath born again shirt. i came back the next day wearing a mob rules jersey!!

  • @attilathefun1 : AWESOME!! I think I will go and find some classic versions and send my sons to school with BOTH TOO!!!

  • @attilathefun1 They sent you home for a Sabbath T shirt ? Fuckers

  • kickass riff

  • Mark Zuckerburg @ 3:28!!!

  • I saw them on this tour, Quiet Riot opened , quite an excellent show!!!!

  • This track still scare the s**t out of me. Amazing album.

  • I was about 24 when I first saw this and was freaked out over the fact that Ian Gillan was with Sabbath then when he returned to Deep Purple to do an album right after this that freaked me out even more

  • @daveni2 Why were you freaked out?

  • @AeroSatan because you didn't see him very much at all after the early 70s then he suddenly appeared with this video with sabbath then virtually the same time returned with deep purple with knocking at my back door. It was great to see back then being the rocker that i was.

  • OMG this was my 1st sabbath album then came heaven and hell and masters of reality but I will always have this I think this one album was underratted there are some very good songs on it.

  • some riffs of this song were taken for "Paradise City"

  • @ikarusxv how is that possible this was about 5 years before guns and roses

  • @ikarusxv OH OK

    sorry misunderstood

    you are correct

  • Comment removed

  • @ikarusxv that's like saying Thomas Edison took his idea from the florescent light when he invented the light bulb. lol

  • @daveni2 I say "for" not "from".

  • This disturbing video is very fitting to the song. The song delivers one message, and the video tells another story. The neat part is that even though they are 2 quite different stories they become an almalgmation that completes the overall theme of Born Again.

There is a lot of heavy symbolism here and it's the symbolism that tells the story of the video and not what appears to be just random distrubing clips.

    Really creative energy behind this.

  • @flippyflappy1 So... a collection of Frankenstein's monsters made Buddy Holly live again and this is relevant to the song... how? Seriously, no clue here.

  • @TithonusSyndrome Without the symbolism in the video, You would walk away with exactly the interpretation you have. Now you do not have to beleive in occult symbolism, but the band was overtly interested in the occult which is clearly laden throughout the video.

To give you a quick idea, you have understand that the animals depicted in the video have a combined esoteric theme but overtly unrelated. The rooster, black horse, rats, goat and the attack dog.

  • @TithonusSyndrome

RIGHT! i was thinking the SAME thing! actually, i thought the Doctor looked alot like Adolf Hitler. so, the video is saying that Adlof Hitler created Buddy Holly? that shit's crazy.

  • Love Gillans voice with the Black Sabbath sound.

  • Iommi's most wicked guitar sound and he has a bag full.

  • Godflesh did a cover too, Justin K. Broadrick managed to make the riff even more monumental.

  • to bad black sabbath didnt make more albums with gillan x.x

  • Gillan kicks ass

  • I will step out on a limb and state that this is the finest Black Sabbath song.

Have their lyrics been any heavier than this ? No. Has any riff made you consider suicide more than this ? No. Case closed and fuck off.

  • @Ontariosound LMFA!!!!!!

  • Yeahhhh! really a insane album. I love this song. Iomi and Ian are excelents

  • Comment removed

  • The first time I heard a Sabbath recording was this song.

I liked the song, but never liked the sound, still don't.

Wish they could record it again, just like Gillan did with Trashed.

By the way, can anyone tell me the meaning of this video?

    Very bizarre!!!

  • @666mathew I had this album when it came out. I think it has to do with fulfilling your life destiny as opposed to sitting around wasting your life, but thats just me., I could be way off.

  • @666mathew ok i just realized i didnt really answer your question about the video. i have no idea. i was just giving my interpretation of the song lyrics. ha ha, sorry about that. :)

  • @ReformedPastorJude I guess You were right with the lyrics, and if you take a deeper look at the video, it makes sence, it's just like peoble being bred like animals and left to play for those who have the power.

  • @lagomorph32 Very good observation, lagomorph. I didnt really see that in the video until you mentioned it but now that makes sense. :)

  • @ReformedPastorJude wow this video is just mega creepy. ha. love the riffs though

  • @666mathew

The song is about people who don't take part in politics or stand up for what they believe in. In this video, a group of strange people create a young man who acts braindead and just lets them do whatever they want with him. The implication is that people who ignore the affairs of the world are allowing themselves to be ruled by strangers and led blindly through life.

  • BEST ALBUM EVER!!!!

Iomi solos on this album is so fkn epic! Ian is the best singer BS ever had.

However, this album is for us. Not you!

  • what a riff fucking guns n roses ripped it off/

  • 17 fucking losers ...you are the zero the hero :D

  • The Born Again album is rather underrated in the Sabbath cannon. I think the absolutely abysmal ugly cover has something to do with it. To quote Gillan "I vomited when I saw it."

  • jejeje excelente !!!

  • Is that Al Franken in the bandages?

  • @trident343 LOL!

  • Such a kick ass riff \m/

  • Can someone plx tell me what album this song is from? Thank you on advance! :)

  • @spediteur84 From Born Again released in 1983.

  • @spediteur84 a very strange time for Sabbath. Ian Gillan and Bev Bevan. I think Born Again is a great album, but it failed with the tour and most fans.

  • @journeyman2112

Oddly enough, I've been hearing a lot of praise for this album in later years. I know some who consider it to be their best.

  • @spediteur84 hm4steve is correct! I just wanted to add that Born Again is probably one of the most underated Black Sabbath albums in their entire catalog-I wish Ian had done a few more albums with Sabbath-they were really unto something together. It's too bad they didn't continue?

  • @spediteur84 from the album "Born Again" released in '83 I think

  • The BORN AGAIN album

  • had no idea there was ever a video for this. wow thanks for posting it

  • @ReformedPastorJude

i had no idea most of Black Sabbath music videos existed, black sabbaths music videos are like the hardest ones to find

  • A lot of my friends rip on me for this album being in my top 3 sabbath albums. The production is thick, heavy and nitty-gritty and Gillan's vocals fit it perfectly. It sounds more akin to some long-lost doom metal gem than a black sabbath album.

  • @hellaburns nah you're right, its GREAT. very underated production..

  • this song destroys any song on the planet.

  • @gibsongold1970 That is the best description of this song I've ever heard.

  • Heavy sound Geezer Butler is a force to recone with as a bassist.

  • Toni is so slick

  • kool sabbath period....short but memorable songs!!!!

  • Cool Crucifixes on stage!

  • That riff is NASTY

  • @Schwarzenegger667 It's a bitch to play for that long too. Feels like my friggin wrist is going to explode

  • born again ..great awesome lp .!

  • Great Sabbath album. Ian Gillan was very underestimated as singer for Sabbath. Zero The Hero stands up with Sabbath greats like Heaven and Hell and Black Sabbath. A very heavy song.

  • @Fabiolux92 Yes sabbath is great but if you were a true Metal heade you wouldn't say f Maiden douchebag.

  • @Fabiolux92 I like Maiden and u should read the description. Please Respect

  • Like fabiolux92 said!

  • now this is way better than the cannibal corpse version!

  • wow i didnt know this song had a video! sweet!

  • Every singer Sabbath has had brought something extra to the band, and its all been fucking great.

  • Respond to this video... the more strange, the better.

  • at 64 he sings like he's 34 amazing voice!!

  • so different from the CC version. i love em both!

  • @HouseHoldGuy1 Of course it's different, it's the original for fucks sake.

  • @driffter1976 well YEAH! lol

but people try to compare the two and they just CAN'T

  • Say what you guys want, but this album actually rocked.

  • This song rocked my childhood. I will always love it! Ian rocks!!!!!!!!!! Fits perfect to the song!

  • Indeed. Gillan did not even know if he wanted the Sabbath.

He was drunk when he signed the contract.

He also never felt comfortable in the Sabbath.

Was ugly the album cover of the disc Born Again.

But it was an interesting experience here that Black Purple!

  • looool! his voice ruins everything XD

  • Dark days of Sabbath. When DIO left they didn't sound like sabbath anymore, this album has the same riffs as purple. The riff for highway star even appears.....
