  • Can anybody tell me any information about the Chesson store shown at 1:54, and 5:38. My great grandmother Betty Morse Chesson married a Hubert Ownley after her husband died and his wife died. The farm house at 6:07 looks like their house. I do not know what road their house was on but you turned beside 3 grain silos. Thanks for your help.

  • This is my hometown. I remember COA -when it was on the river, and many other houses and department stores. Amazing what we can do with technology - great to look back. Thanks

  • i lived there in 1964 and 5 and there was oxemas news stand and the virginia dare hotel.my mother thought she had found the lost colony

  • What house is that at 3:19?

  • my grandad grew up there and recently we moved down here about 6 years ago...it ugh...sure was better back then to say the very least besides the racism of course..

  • I used to be a Police Officer for EC. Seems like such a nice place to live back in the day....such a nightmare working there these days

  • 2:15 into the video is my Dad's Gulf station!

  • I'm to young to remember most of those places, but i see the buildings all the time, :D

  • Lordie, I miss some of these places. I've forgotten a lot of them even existed, so it's great to see them again. But you have to look quickly or some will fly past and you'll miss them.

It's good to see a lot of the old buildings with new functions. And a pox on those folks who tore down a lot of downtown!
