God Bless You Intelligent, Open Minded Military Wives! I'm a retired U.S. Marine and I support Barack Obama 100%! He is the only logical choice for President of the United States. He graduated # 1 from Harvard Law School and McCain graduated 5th from the bottom of his class! Hello??? Barack will make an Outstanding Commander in Chief! It's time to clean up this Republican Nightmare of the last 8 years! Wake Up America! Yes We Can! Obama/Biden 08! Semper Fi!
I attended the McCain rally Oct 28 in Fayetteville, NC located next to Fort Bragg. Home of the All American 82nd Airborne, Special Forces & other dedicated soldiers serving their country with honor. Support for McCain is strong among Military and civilians. I may not agree completely with McCain on all issues, but feel Obama is totally wrong for the military.Don't forget what he said a year ago that now is forgotten. I am the wife of a Vietman Marine Vet & daughter of a career Army SGT. I know!
BlueStarFamily, I'm sorry if I have offended you but the main reason why I'm not voting for Obama is because he is for partial birth abortion and I will never agree that there is anything right about that.
Actually, he's not. Here's a quote from him from Fox News this year:
"On an issue like partial birth abortion, I strongly believe that the state can properly restrict late-term abortions. I have said so repeatedly. All I've said is we should have a provision to protect the health of the mother, and many of the bills that came before me didn't have that." Apr 27, 2008
BlueStarFamily, I wasn't trying to say that all military supported Obama, I said it was about half and half here where we are based. And the fact that Obama "might" support our military is not even my problem with him. He's for a lot of stuff that I don't agree with but its my choice to vote for who I want to and its your choice too so don't be fussing at me.
Then what exactly did your comment about us being "screwed" if Obama is elected mean? You should also educate yourself on his background by reading one of his books. Again, Fox News has a bit of a slant, in case you hadn't noticed. There's a lot of nasty stuff in McCain's background too that, at the time, would have made me lose all respect for him. But the past is the past and we should be voting on issues and not who has the best smear campaign.
I like this video. It is simple, clean cut and straight to your point. No attacking people, calling them terrorist's or what have you. It shows the pride of families who serve our country. Thank you for your service.
Preacher48 did bring uop something that I forgot. When the messiah Obama went to Germany he cancelled an appearance with the troops because there was no media there that he could get a photo op. The left wing hates the military but you will figure it out if Obama wins and the Democrats gain seats in congress. Right now Barney Frank has plans to cut military spending by 25%. Trust me you are being used by the left.
Preacher, if you'd like information on Senator Obama's *actual* plans for the military, we'd be happy to provide it. You are aware that he sits on the Veterans Affairs Committee? By choice.
I totally agree with you there. I'm a military wife but I'm not voting for somebody who turns their back to the flag, and has the background that idiot does. I don't think they are being very supportive of their husbands if they can support somebody like Obama.
You need to educate yourself on the issues, Marine Wife, & not just from the conservative talk shows or the internet rumors. Obama has a better voting record on veterans and military issues and he has better plans for the future. And don't kid yourself. Many of our husbands support Obama too.
I'm a vet & Army wife. I'm disturbed that Republicans think that patriotism, love of country & military service is a strictly Republican ideal. I love my country and sacrifice (4th deployment begins next month) for it regularly. I support my husband because he & I feel that his service is of greater importance than any political ideology. If you'd like to discuss the problems with the Military Times poll, I'd be happy to discuss it with you. Even the MT says it's not an accurate representation of political views across the military.

Our US Army Family supports Obama!!!! My husband (currently serving his 2nd tour in Iraq) is desperately hoping for a change in leadership. Under Bush (and the McCain) we'll deploy again in 2010, less than one year after retunring home.
I hope we bring your husband home soon, thank you for supporting Obama. We pray for your husbands, sons, brothers, sisters, moms, daughters every day. God bless you.
Extremely well done. Both as a veteran and artist I was moved deeply. There was not the slightest sense of insincerity in any of these women. God Bless you ladies of Blue Star Families, your loved ones and the sanctity of your family unity - May your higher power console your suffering from the arrogant incompetence of those who have created and profited from, the catastrophes they've created. Never Again!
Let us not forget itis not McCain that is "all" the problem, as IMO he is generaly not half as bad as our current leadership--and many time the man Bush ever will be.
But it is basically his whole political underinning--his people--that are the same Bush clowns.
There's no evidence McCain "knows how" to do any of those things he promises. If we haven't seen it by now, we never will. He's a complete CROCK and an erratic, volcanic, dangerous man.
This USMC family wants Obama for Commander in Chief! We have carried out the mission in Iraq even though we didn't agree with it. Now we want to focus on getting the guy who killed our people on our soil. Stop dumping money into Iraq, they can use their own money to rebuild their country. Use that money to take care of our vets, our troops and their families so my husband can go get the real bad guys!
I am a proud US Army vet. I am so disgusted by the Republicans talking about "victory" in Iraq! If an arsonist starts a fire and then turns around and helps to put the fire out, can he claim a victory over the blaze? We can't "win" a mistake. The only victory is to admit that we were wrong and pull out ASAP. Our troops have already performed with honor and victoriously brought down Hussein. The only losers are the people who started this war!
I've lived in a military community my whole life, where we civilians rub elbows w/ soldiers and spouses evey day. The one thing I know is these guys/girls are TIRED and want this war to be over. 3,4,5 deployments to Iraq? Come on, their people, not machines. McCain wants America to believe the troops are just BEGGING to STAY in Iraq. They are NOT. We went to oust Hussein, and DID- YEARS ago. What is this elusive "victory" McCain wants to acheive? War on "terror". McCain is at war with an idea.
Back in McCain's day, if you managed to live through 1 year in Viet Nam, that was it--you were done and got to go home. If McCain has his way he will keep this war going on forever. It's like he's just dying to get to be in command, not so much of of America, but of THIS WAR. He likes the idea of wars and battles and revenge and John Wayne victories. He doesn't get that this is not that kind of war. There's no clear mission, no clear enemy to gain "victory" over. Our troops need to come home.
I have to add, my father served in Vietnam and lost 3 friends. But because of McCain's push to block POW/MIA records, none of the families of any soldiers can find out what happened to them.
WHY WOULD MCCAIN create and push successfully to seal POW/MIA records???????
Obviously he's hiding something, was he a traitor to his country? Did he cut a deal with the Vietnamese? Nobody will ever know, McCain is more for himself than he is for Americans.
I've heard other POW's from Viet Nam talk about McCain and they can't stand him. They say that he was treated like a "prince" over there, and the only reason he didn't take the offer to come home was his father would have never forgiven him. I read that he went to Viet Nam years ago and had a red-faced screaming fit threatening them to cut off any diplomacy w/their gov't if they dared to release any of their documents about his time as a POW. Oh ya he's hiding a lot. Pentagon records were sealed
This video says it all. As another military family wife/mother, I will vote for Obama in November. He is the only candidate who truly cares for the military. His actions speak louder than McCain's words.
I served two tours in Viet-Nam as a fighter pilot and watched their small country ravaged and torn apart by a horribly wrong political decision to deploy our troops in an unjust war. Our loyal military must now be allowed to return home from Iraq with honor by pressuring the Iraqi's to solve their own problems. Someone tell John McCain that you can't "win someone else's civil war. Bring the troops home- elect Barack Obama and Joe Biden. That's how we will "win" in Iraq. Not staying 100 years.
Thank you for your service. The stump question conservatives pose to ppl against this illegal war consistently is "Do you want to win this war ?" - As a veteran how would you respond to that ? And How do you feel about McCain saying in the 2nd debate "Ill find Osama Bin Laden. Ill get em. I know how to getem. I know how.". Thanks.
As a veteran, I respond to that by saying, yes, but what exactly does that mean? We're fighting a war without objectives, in order to win we need to understand the objectives, accomplish them, and go home.
WRT "I'll find him" I'd like to know, if you know how to find him, WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN WAITING FOR??? Let's elect Obama as president, and give McCain a rifle. a Humvee, and an airdrop to the location of his choice and we'll throw him a parade when he comes back with Bil Ladin's head.
If he knows how to get him, then why is he keeping it a secret? Is he blackmailing us? If you don't vote for me, I won't tell you how to get him? Fact is, he has no real plan but war, war, and more war. His fellow senators and many military commanders have said they DO NOT WANT McCain as president, saying he has a wildly unpredictable temper, and lacks any diplomacy. One general said McCain is unfit because his first impulse is always to use military force when that should be the LAST option.
My husband said the EXACT same thing! I'm the Marine in my family and he supports me but wants to know why McCain keeps saying he KNOWS how to get Osama bin Laden but isn't telling Bush NOW! We have to wait till January 20? That's BS! GO OBAMA!
I am also a Vietnam vet although I was just a grunt. I don't see how Bush or McCain can keep such a open ended war going just because they call it the global WAR on terrror. Terrorist are criminals and shoule be handled in a swift and decisive manner not some crap where you go off and invade and destroy a enitre country then continue to pump money into it that's stolen by contractors while Iraq builds a bank account and is being taken over by big oil. Walk softly yet carry a big stick.
I am a deceased USAF Reserve retiree's widow, and mother of three children--one with Down Syndrome. My husband served in Iraq, Afghanistan, the Persian Gulf, and many other missions. He never voted for either Bush, but he always voted. He served our country well, and was a true American hero. He would vote for Obama, and so will I. This year, for the first time, all three of our children will vote as well. For Barack Obama...
Thank you! I too am a military wife and an Obama supporter. People need to understand that as military families we need to vote what is best for us which is Obama this year...not what is expected (Republican).
Thank you for your courage in making this video. Please accept my sincere appreciation for the many sacrifices that have been made and that are still being made by our men and women in uniform and by their families. God Bless you and bring our troops home soon.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Wow it appears the military actually has people in it with frontal lobes. The military supporting Obama isn't that suppose to be anti military or anti american or somthing??? After all you military types are all about god , guns and glory.
I'm not sure exactly what your intentions were, but as a military wife myself, I'm a bit offended by your remarks. I would like to think that with our country in the state affairs we are in at this time, you would express support for the military. I may be misunderstanding your intentions, but it sounds like you are surprised there are people who think logically associated with the military. And no, we are not all about god, guns, and glory, but webare about patriotism, honor, and service.
Air Force brat til 16, produced a female staff sargent who's son's daddy is my staff sargent son by heart. Married a sailor, who was product of WWII sailor. Our military follows orders, serves in medicine and in combat, repairing, driving, cooking, cleaning, guarding, communicating, and so many other ways. Spouses become single parents at bases away from support and kids get sick and they give so much more than the rest of us civilians. I salute you all. Obama 08 BrngRBysHm.Grls2.
As a Naval Officer I am offended by your characterization of "you military types." You obviously need to educate yourself and spend some time near more members of the military. The stereotype you have of military members, is just that-A stereotype. I hope you will find the time to enlighten yourself.
Not only are you rude but ill-informed as well. Sen. Obama is not anti-gun, anti-military OR anti-american. He supports our const. right to own guns and is endorsed by the American Hunters and Shooters Assoc. Sen. Obama has ACTUAL concern for our troops, and has voted FOR them to get necessary funding for safer equipment, etc. when McCain didn't, and cares enough about them that he actually wants to bring them home! Something John McCain doesn't want either. A vote for Obama is VERY American.
Excellent video! It means a lot to hear your voices supporting Obama. After all, you have the most at stake here. I agree 100% - Obama will be a great Commander in Chief. Vote Hope!
Excellent video! thank you all for your sacrifices and for putting your voices out there! Obama is truly an inspriational and intelligent candidate, and he will make an incredible President, even with the hard work he has to do!
Barack Obama's common-sense solutions for the country's challenges appeal to both the soft-hearted and the hard-headed.
Supporting vets. is not just the right thing to do.
Supporting vets. is necessary for the United States to keep its armed forces the strongest in the world. Recruiting the best requires that America treat its military personnel well when they are both in and out of uniform.
I am glad to hear this, I am Veterans wife and I think it is a shame that there are some homeless Vets out there and Uncle Sam is not even trying to help them. Maybe when Obama gets in the White House they will get the help they need.
Democrats around the country embrace the myriad of voices which make up this nation, we are not limited by age, ethnicity or religion. I am married to a Korean war vet, and I too am for Obama, as is my husband. Great spot.
Great statement Ladies! Every adult woman is not as "out of the LOOP" with real people issues as Sarah Palin. God Bless each of you and your families.....
This is great message, and I am so happy this organization has put this together. The Republican party does not own military families. To REALBLUSTR who also posted, simply because you disagree does not mean these ladies are misinformed. How disrespectful. And to assert that they should speak to their husbands, how sexist. These women are clearly intelligent, and the fact that they are military wives means they are certainly independent. They are capable of of thinking w/o their husbands.
I feel blessed to live in a country where everyone has a voice, even if some of those voices are as misinformed as these well-meaning ladies. I would have hoped that educated military wives like these could have done a better job than merely regurgitating Obama talking points. "Barrack Obama shows he understands today's military?" C'mon!......you ladies need to speak with your husbands and the people they work with; polls of serving military will reveal you're likely to get different story.
We're quite well informed, thank you. I'd hazard to guess that we know the candidates' records on military issues just as well as the candidates themselves. And some of us are veterans as well.
I concur with BSF4O. This is a great organization. I am a military spouse; to infer that we have to "speak with [our] husbands" is insulting; nevertheless, we are all entitled to our opinions. The truth is this: 1) we HAVE spoken with our husbands, wives, and families and heard the horrors of the OEF/OIF wars; and 2)Obama has consistently voted FOR veteran legislation to include mental health assistance and PTSD legislation, among others.
Hey, realblustr, you don't need to be an Obama supporter to know that John McCain has a poor voting record on veteran's issues. It's public record. My family, which is proud of it's 34 years of combined military service (from Korea to the present) -- knows that all too well. The Blue Star organization is right on the money.
You're mistaken, and you can't even spell our next president's name correctly.... You'll eat these ignorant words on November 5th when you awaken to the wonderful news that Barack Obama has won the election and will be our next president.
You need to look at facts. These ladies are quite informed. It's called looking at who really supports you. McCain got a failing grade by almost every GENUINE veterans groups. The ones that support McCain like the Veterans For Freedom are nothing more than Republican propaganda machines put together by Lieberman and Cheney, etal. All hot air with money being funneled into them by the Republican party. Propaganda does not trump simple facts when people are really concerned about their future.
"Some" is the assumption and is rather an obvious fact...unless you're very obtuse.

Now we want to focus on getting the guy who killed our people on our soil. Stop dumping money into Iraq, they can use their own money to rebuild their country. Use that money to take care of our vets, our troops and their families so my husband can go get the real bad guys!
nakedhousewife 3 years ago 4

McCain is at war with an idea.
thearcangel11 3 years ago 9
You know that's the best way to put it, they aren't machines. Excellent description.
jcub33 3 years ago 2
Back in McCain's day, if you managed to live through 1 year in Viet Nam, that was it--you were done and got to go home. If McCain has his way he will keep this war going on forever. It's like he's just dying to get to be in command, not so much of of America, but of THIS WAR. He likes the idea of wars and battles and revenge and John Wayne victories. He doesn't get that this is not that kind of war. There's no clear mission, no clear enemy to gain "victory" over. Our troops need to come home.
thearcangel11 3 years ago
I have to add, my father served in Vietnam and lost 3 friends. But because of McCain's push to block POW/MIA records, none of the families of any soldiers can find out what happened to them.
WHY WOULD MCCAIN create and push successfully to seal POW/MIA records???????
Obviously he's hiding something, was he a traitor to his country? Did he cut a deal with the Vietnamese? Nobody will ever know, McCain is more for himself than he is for Americans.
jcub33 3 years ago 5

Not staying 100 years.
igorpdx 3 years ago 8
Thank you for your service. The stump question conservatives pose to ppl against this illegal war consistently is "Do you want to win this war ?" - As a veteran how would you respond to that ? And How do you feel about McCain saying in the 2nd debate "Ill find Osama Bin Laden. Ill get em. I know how to getem. I know how.". Thanks.
ILoveGoodFellas 3 years ago
As a veteran, I respond to that by saying, yes, but what exactly does that mean? We're fighting a war without objectives, in order to win we need to understand the objectives, accomplish them, and go home.
WRT "I'll find him" I'd like to know, if you know how to find him, WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN WAITING FOR??? Let's elect Obama as president, and give McCain a rifle. a Humvee, and an airdrop to the location of his choice and we'll throw him a parade when he comes back with Bil Ladin's head.
jayratch 3 years ago 3
If he knows how to get him, then why is he keeping it a secret? Is he blackmailing us? If you don't vote for me, I won't tell you how to get him? Fact is, he has no real plan but war, war, and more war. His fellow senators and many military commanders have said they DO NOT WANT McCain as president, saying he has a wildly unpredictable temper, and lacks any diplomacy. One general said McCain is unfit because his first impulse is always to use military force when that should be the LAST option.
thearcangel11 3 years ago 6
My husband said the EXACT same thing! I'm the Marine in my family and he supports me but wants to know why McCain keeps saying he KNOWS how to get Osama bin Laden but isn't telling Bush NOW! We have to wait till January 20? That's BS! GO OBAMA!
AradiseDP 3 years ago

Wow it appears the military actually has people in it with frontal lobes. The military supporting Obama isn't that suppose to be anti military or anti american or somthing??? After all you military types are all about god , guns and glory.
carlthenut 3 years ago

I hope you will find the time to enlighten yourself.
bound2bfreesf 3 years ago 4
You are very uninformed. The military is as diverse as the general population. Some are just louder than others....
debnovel 3 years ago 4
Not only are you rude but ill-informed as well. Sen. Obama is not anti-gun, anti-military OR anti-american. He supports our const. right to own guns and is endorsed by the American Hunters and Shooters Assoc. Sen. Obama has ACTUAL concern for our troops, and has voted FOR them to get necessary funding for safer equipment, etc. when McCain didn't, and cares enough about them that he actually wants to bring them home! Something John McCain doesn't want either. A vote for Obama is VERY American.

Great spot.

"Barrack Obama shows he understands today's military?" C'mon!......you ladies need to speak with your husbands and the people they work with; polls of serving military will reveal you're likely to get different story.
realblustr 3 years ago
We're quite well informed, thank you. I'd hazard to guess that we know the candidates' records on military issues just as well as the candidates themselves. And some of us are veterans as well.
Thanks for stopping by!

I concur with BSF4O. This is a great organization. I am a military spouse; to infer that we have to "speak with [our] husbands" is insulting; nevertheless, we are all entitled to our opinions. The truth is this: 1) we HAVE spoken with our husbands, wives, and families and heard the horrors of the OEF/OIF wars; and 2)Obama has consistently voted FOR veteran legislation to include mental health assistance and PTSD legislation, among others.
pamsegg 3 years ago 7
Hey, realblustr, you don't need to be an Obama supporter to know that John McCain has a poor voting record on veteran's issues. It's public record. My family, which is proud of it's 34 years of combined military service (from Korea to the present) -- knows that all too well. The Blue Star organization is right on the money.

You're mistaken, and you can't even spell our next president's name correctly.... You'll eat these ignorant words on November 5th when you awaken to the wonderful news that Barack Obama has won the election and will be our next president.
debnovel 3 years ago 2
You need to look at facts. These ladies are quite informed. It's called looking at who really supports you. McCain got a failing grade by almost every GENUINE veterans groups. The ones that support McCain like the Veterans For Freedom are nothing more than Republican propaganda machines put together by Lieberman and Cheney, etal. All hot air with money being funneled into them by the Republican party. Propaganda does not trump simple facts when people are really concerned about their future.
