I have two questions I hope you could answer since I'm abandoning my Digitech JamMan stereo for either the Pro or KP3 (watching Phantogram do their thing with the KP3 has been very educational, and very inspiring) - 1. Can the drum sounds loaded in the Pro be separately played, or are the drum samples whole patterns? Can you play just the snare/hi-hat etc from a certain kit pattern, or is it all or nothing? 2. Can you undo overdubs after stacking them in a given loop bank? Thanks in advance!

Question: I really want to overdub songs on my future Kaossilator PRO. If I want to hook the PRO up to my computer and play a song from iTunes and then overdub the song on my PRO, what chords would I need?

Also, I know you can hook up any type of speakers to the PRO such as Logitech speakers. My Logitech speakers are for my iPod (so like an iPod docking station). Could I play a song from my docking station and overdub it like that?

Hello all. I have both of these instruments.When I saw this video I was blown away. Especially a 16 measure loop. Loads of time for looping. They both have vocoders, and loads of options and sounds. Two very flexible instruments. Go Korg!!

MIDI misery

MIDI compatibility was one of the main features we thought would improve the Kaossilator, so the arrival of MIDI ports on the Pro got us seriously excited. Unfortunately, it doesn't support standard note data. The X-Y coordinates are instead sent and received as CC values, meaning that if you want to play the internal synth instruments using a MIDI controller or DAW you'll need to find a way of converting notes to CC.

@BassIsCool2005 It's two cables. The first is dual 1/4" male on the microKORG XL's outputs, to dual RCA male on the KOPro's inputs. The other is dual RCA male on the KOPro's outputs, connected to an offscreen mixer.

I have a Kaossilator pro and a mini-kp.

My question is how do i record the fx i made from the mini-kp to the kaossilator?

I use rca cable for Line in (kaossilator pro) to Line out of mini-kp..

so far i can onli record from fx no. 88-99.. it seemed that the Kaossilator pro is not picking up any of the fx from 00-87..Help me out pls..

@lullaby666 The later programs in the miniKP (the ones that are working for you) are synthesizer programs, and they are the only ones that actually create sounds. The rest of the programs in the miniKP are effect processors, not sounds unto themselves, and they require audio coming into the miniKP's inputs in order to be heard.

Just bought it. What I hate about the manual, is that Korg doesn't explain how to hook this up to a soundcard, for a first time user like me. Even the EasyStart pdf is not appropriate enough. The explanation doesn't make any sense. Also, when i turn it on and put headphones in, select a program --> where are the sounds? Don't hear a thing. Could you please explain how I can connect it to my M-Audio 410 soundcard and get this thing going through my monitors? Sound at all? Thanks.

I have a problem with the vocoder, I plugged in my mic into the jack but the vocoder isn't working. I can hear the static from the mic but my voice or effects are not working. Is there a way to fix this? Please comment.

@Romndragon Just to make sure, you need to be touching the pad while talking into the mic. Also make sure you're using the correct impedence adapter for the microphone, make sure the mic doesn't require phantom power, and check the input level on the front of the KOPro.

@aronsoul Yes, you can record directly into the Loop Recorder Banks right from an iPod. Just get yourself an 1/8" to dual RCA cable, connect to the KOPro's line inputs, press REC, choose a Loop Recorder Bank, and you're all set.

Just got this K Pro, really great ;)

excepted it should be able to record longer loop, + an undo button when you recorded something wrong + a metronome to help. and maybe not only 4 banks but 8...

But whatever i'm having real fun with it and make music the easiest way possible !!

@peasant2general- Thanks! There are several vocoder programs, which use different voicing and chord structures. There are also several other input effects, such as a pitch shifter, grain shifter, and filter. These can all be recorded onto the Loop Banks the same way you see in this video.
